Also, that's fuckin' instant death for the boars, you use anything smaller than that and you're gonna have a lot of boars screaming in pain/you'll get fucking gored.
Yeah, like i said, in that other video it's like, 4 shots to the freaking head and it's still going ballistic it's either miniguns or explosives
Only issue with the explosives is that you'd be doing more bad than good to the environment. But if there was an overpopulation of boars in the fucking desert or something? Oh hell yeah
holy fuck, all these people saying they are invasive and an destructive species. Take a look in the mirror to see who is the real invasive and destructive species
I think we found one of the famed lizard people guys
I think we found one of the famed lizard people guys
yeah, be careful. i might eat you.
Killing boars is all over the place on the spectrum of danger. If you get up close to them then it gets to be as frantic as this: but it's more effective to just shoot them from helicopters.
The fuck is that. I've never went on a hunt in my life but seriously this is just sick how fast he's killing those boars.
The fuck is that. I've never went on a hunt in my life but seriously this is just sick how fast he's killing those boars.
He's tracking down a pack of them, he wasn't just going on a warpath in Hogsville killing anything he saw.
keep in mind that boars can take a ridiculous amount of punishment before going down with a minigun, you have dozens of rounds zipping through the target in an instant. if you're going to argue humane ways to put down an invasive species, a minigun would be your go-to for virtually instant death.
The fuck is that. I've never went on a hunt in my life but seriously this is just sick how fast he's killing those boars.
You're literally witnessing the hunting parallel to a warzone. If they don't take down the boars quick, they're gonna get massacred.
I don't care about "oh they're in pain it's so sad", but come on. Randomly shooting animals with a fully automatic militairy grade machine gun is just stupid. It's not even effective at killing hogs. Get a semi-auto and you'll kill more boars with less rounds used. Absolute stupidity is in this thread and in the video. Call me a dumb European, but I in no way, find this 'awesome' 'winner' or 'cool'. It's unintelligent, over-the-top, and done purely for the sake of being spectacular and/or entertaining. It's nothing to do with effective pest control. American culture is oozing out of this video and thread. Ugh.
"AMERICAN CULTURE"
Didn't they send helicopter-riding Snipers to kill Goats on the Galapagos?
Aren't boars like savage as fuck? They'd eat you alive if you put yourself on a lower level than them.
Aren't boars like savage as fuck? They'd eat you alive if you put yourself on a lower level than them.
Don't you generalize all boars! Just because there's a few bad apples doesn't mean they are all jerks.

Boars have an incredibly thick hide, so much that even higher caliber weaponry still takes a good 6-7 rounds to kill one. Combine their incredibly resilience with their insanely aggressive tendencies, and you've got an incredibly good reason not to be fucking around when trimming the population. It may seem overkill (and it is, to a certain degree), but they really have opted for the safest route. [editline]15th March 2014[/editline]
Aren't boars like savage as fuck? They're incredibly efficient eaters and don't have a problem with their prey being alive, as long as its in a situation where the pigs can overwhelm it.
Boars are fucking brutal, man. If we didn't kill them then they'd kill far more by fucking up the ecosystem. You know that sense of satisfaction you get when you kill a wasp that's been buzzing around your room or something? That sense of, "now that wasp isn't going to sting me, good"? Same with boars. Now those boars aren't going to fuck up the local wildlife. Because that is literally all that boars do. They're incapable of feeling empathy for all of the shit they do, I don't see why anyone should feel empathy towards them. I don't think people should take pleasure in inflicting pain either, but I don't see that happening here. I see some bored hunters trying to make a routine chore a bit more interesting.
It doesn't get any more American than this. I approve.

Yes they are agressive, yes they are tough, but that doesn't mean you should go around randomly peppering them with a military machinegun is all. Get 10 people with slug shotguns and do it efficiently. Not 1 guy with a minigun, and 9 people laughing and applauding. That's the part that causes offense to me... not the part where the boars die.

It's way more dangerous for the hunters to do it the way you said. Some of the boars took 6~ shots to go down. The minigun kills the boars almost instantly and there's really no danger to the hunters that way. I'm not saying it's more 'practical', but it's definitely safer and faster.
Boars are literally pests, they destroy everything around them, eat all the food, and violently drive off any native animals. They're dangerous as fuck to humans too. Boars aren't cute pigs with a fuzzy hide, they're aggressive animals with tusks and they only care about goring you. I feel like the "this is so inhumane this isn't even hunting!" people are also the types of people that say "I wish we could go back to the old days when armies used swords and had honor..."

Just because some people got enjoyment out of something doesn't mean shit. Not every hunter or pest control team has a fucking helicopter and rotary minigun to do their business with. If bears were an overpopulated species (hypothetical) and were causing havoc everywhere I'd rather be the guy in a helicopter gunning down herds of bears instead of the dude on foot with an AR.

Boars need to die in that area. All of them. It doesn't matter if you give them numbers and hunt them down one by one or just point and shoot. Either way boars are dead. Making boars dead is their goal. The goal is accomplished.
this is intense i've actually been chased by boars out in the wilderness, it's fucking terrifying. the idea that after hitting them 2-3 times they could still be going is terrifying. given my generally anti-gun stance (which obvi i'll leave out of this) it's a bizarre question as to which is more "ethical" of the minigun vs standard firearms. there definitely is a right way to kill and a wrong way to kill, and if you don't acknowledge that you're a complete sociopath - let's be real. there's a difference between blowing someone up and shooting them in the back of the head. but having seen that video of the up close hunt, it is clear that the boars that are shot once or twice are still alive - does the absolute brutality of being hit by a minigun get excused by the fact that it's (probably) a much quicker death? i don't know. i'm mildly disturbed by the fact that the boars being killed by the minigun (once again, probably) aren't being taken as meat afterwards, which is general practice when hunting / pest control in my area. granted, there is the idea that nothing is wasted (ie that meat will get eaten by something) but it sort of is creepy and eerie because it clearly demonstrates a desire to hunt simply for the sake of killing something, which isn't something that I could condone.
Imho; 1st Video: *400 rounds used, 6 boars dead *1 gunner, 9 people looking on cheering *Stationary weapon, once those 6 boars in range are dead or have fled, you're done for a few hours (ergo, not efficient) *Animals wounded but not dead? *Animal remains unusable / inedible 2nd Video *More dangerous to the hunters, although at no point in the video were the hunters not able to subdue the animals before real danger arose. *Proof you need bigger calibers, preferably hog-hunting slugs. *Hunters mobile, working together as a team. *Per hog lets say 5 shots fired, all striking their intended targets. *More hogs dead. So yeah basically I prefer the method in the second video. This kinda reminds me of that one video where a bunch of guys were using shit like boomerangs and bows to take out Asian Carp. :v:

They probably just wanted to have a little extra fun and kill some pests in the process.
I can only assume boars think the same of you.:downs:
Good thing boars don't have miniguns.
There's always someone stirring shit up.

It's just pest control as opposed to hunting. I can get where you're coming from where the minigun may be brutal, but I can't really say you should go out with a shotgun and have to nail the thing like 3 times for it to finally go down, cause the first two only crippled it and caused to collapse and scream in pain. At least this way it just kinda vanishes from life, you know?
