By that logic, why don't you do the planet a favor by killing yourself so there's one less invasive creature in the world?
Obviously that's not a sensible solution, and we also happen to be on top of the food chain and have no natural predators any more. Nothing's going to keep our population down via killing, and it doesn't make sense for members of a species to commit mass suicide for the survival of the rest. The more obvious course of action is breeding less, which is easier said than done but will be necessary eventually.
boars fear one thing Obelix
lmao what does pest control have to do with so-called "American Culture"? I don't mean to generalize but whenever there's a thread like this there's always some European guy who goes on some condescending rant and talks out his ass. it gets pretty old, honestly.
Pest control doesn't have much to do with American culture specifically, but doing pest control with a fucking minigun obviously has. It's by no means effective at it (unless the pests generally keep to the fixed position of your gun, of course), and it's simply morbid in my opinion. But I might just be a condescending European, y'know. Not saying I feel sorry for the animals (they probably died very quickly), but the apparent joy of taking out boars with mini gun is just tasteless.

Miniguns are extremely accurate and controllable. Put 2 and 2 together. The only problem is finding someone willing to lend their gun to such a thing.
Circling an area, gunning down board with a minigun mounted on the side of a helicopter would be badass.
we're better than animals
Come back and tell us this when things like crime, hedonism, and greed are gone and puritanism rules once more, m'kay? Otherwise I refuse to move my special magnet off of the label that says "fancy fuck monkeys" on the chart that I have on my refrigerator.
It's got nothing to do with ethics, guilt, or morality. Theres a line you cross during pest control and using a god damn M134 pole-vaults over that line. At that point it's not longer about hunting or pest control, you're doing it for the fun of killing things, not because you're concerned about a boar getting in with the sows and making a few bastards. It's like napalming your entire neighborhood because you saw a daddy-long-leg in your garage. I can understand using an M-16 or an AKM to hunt hogs for the hunters safety, but using a mounted M134 is just ridiculous. If you're fine with that, you might as well just whip out the BOFORs and lay out a few acres of forest.
holy shit dude you support m16 or an akm? are you fucking daft? you can call this hunting and pest control only if you use a dagger or a (cross)bow!! fucking sick, dude, get help [editline]16th March 2014[/editline]
Okay well uh thats nice and all but while you're trying to talk invasive species out of your area or whatver I guess we'll just be sitting here actually making progress with our miniguns
well, yeah, you still have a lot of money to spend oh wait

I wish, that'd be a hell of a lot more fun than a few food stamps.
I don't know if this information is current but the human population was at one point projected to cap at 12 billion or so and then start to decline indefinitely.
You might not have noticed, but the US is very into guns. Hence american gun culture. Everyone could look at this video and go "yep, americans" because it's very very recognisable. Nobody else goes shooting animals with miniguns for entertainment :v:
no shit I've noticed it, I'm from southern Indiana. what I'm saying is that this video isn't the result of gun culture. sure, the access to a god damned minigun alone is about as American as you can get. however, the sole and simple purpose of this video was to document pest control, albeit in a grandiose way. I know exactly what gun culture is, and this really isn't it. gun culture also isn't comprised of shooting AR-15's in the air and listening to country music. you don't see everyone and their mother open-carrying and complimenting each other on their piece as they walk past each other on the street. yes, people here love their guns, but it isn't unhealthy in any way. from what I've observed and experienced, gun safety is the foremost important topic and truly the only part of gun culture you could call "obsessed" because it's so important. also, if anything, I'm sure you'd jump at a chance to shoot a minigun. who the hell wouldn't?
Some of the boars squealing really reminded me of Jabba the Hutt for some reason [editline]16th March 2014[/editline] I know know why they remind me now they're gamorrean guards
I think if some one can afford to use a minigun to hunt boar go right ahead
