did you guys have to convince your parents to let you get a motorcycle? mine are completely against the idea of me getting one
Most parents are unless they ride themselves.
Is there a CCs limit to the type of bike you can drive depending on what type of lisence you have?

Dad rode from the age of 13 to 39 so he's not against it, he only tries to give me tips on what to think about from time to time

Dad has had a motorcycle for 8 years himself, but he's not sure what he thinks of me getting a license.
This was his bike, sold it in 2001 or something.

My mother totally freaked out when I wanted the moped I posted above, but she says it's my choice, but that she's not happy with me going for my motorcycle license.
Aww man I always wanted a chopper

The only problems I really had were being cold and almost losing my luggage a couple times. However when I cleaned up my bike the day after I got back and went to change the oil, I discovered that over the ~900Km trip all 1.3L of oil had leaked out :( Looks like some new gaskets are in order.
Here she is loaded up:

The 2nd day me and my mate went riding looking for a shack we hiked to during a school camp a few years back. My mates dad went hiking because his big DR was too heavy on the soft sandy tracks :P

I definitely recommend doing it. We rode through a Karri tree forrest and it was just amazing. A whole different experience than the couple other times I've been through there in a coaster bus back in school.
Looking up to the tops of the trees, the brisk, cold air buffeting against me, the rumble of the engine and the knobbie tyres on the rough road, the sore arse....
I'll be back down there as soon as I've fixed this oil leak :P

Awesome, I live in Perth too, will put some pics of my bike in a minute. Nice bike man... I was tempted to get a dual sport for my first too.

My black GPX250 on the left (or Ninja if you like). 20 years old with 48,000Ks on it (iv put about 8,000 Ks on it in the 3 months I've had it).
My mates GT250 Hyosung on the right.
Photo was taking during a ride to the twisting in the dwellingup/waroona area.
This is actually the way it came out of the factory, with exception of the brakes, I janked those of of the motorcycle version.
Does have the look though, but the sound is why I bought it, the forced cooling has a weird high pitched sound.
Here's the model from '73, but it has the same sound
Here's how they sound if you tune them good:

Later they got rid of the forced cooling but they somehow got more gearwhine.
Oh ya, I'm jus sayin since a few years people have been calling everything a cafe racer and it's been gettin on my nerves. That's a real nice moped though, I'd love to have one when I leave for college. Those mudgaurds on the 73 are neat too

On the dutch E-bay there's a totally stock GN250 for sale and it's labelled café racer, it's getting on my nerves too.
Also the mudguards are very rare, everyone just took them off and forgot about them because they thought it was for old people and pussies. v:v:v
Hi, I'm struggling to find a good place to ride my dirt bike for either the day or maybe camping then riding some more (e.g a big field or a track to ride on). I live in the UK in Herefordshire, anyone have any good suggestions?

Might want to join some sort of (online) off-road club, I'm sure there's one.
Get a friend who has a farm, every farmer out here has a dirtbike and messes up a few fields now and then.
Today I was riding my motorbike to work. A car decides to change lanes just as I am passing him. I have to take evasive maneuvers, brake, honk, cuss, yell etc. :argh:
I passed my test this morning :D
It's only taken 3 attempts but I've finally got my license. Feels good, man.
I disagree. If you've got get a 50cc, get something cheap. Don't waste your money on shit that wants look like something that it just can't be.
Better save that money and get a real bike when you're old enough.
Get a used Zündapp or something, the shittier it looks, the better. It'll be cheap, just as "fast", easy to maintain, and certainly more unique.
There's nothing wrong with an Aprilia RS50 as long as you don't buy one new.
Always wanted one, but ended up with a silly Peugeot Speedfight instead.

Not to mention people think Zündapp and Kreidler parts are worth their weight in gold.
Just bought my 2005 Buell xb9sx yesterday. 984cc Harley V-twin. 7200 miles.

I went for a 30km blat in celebration, even though it was raining, that afternoon. Today I got off work at midday and did another 60km in the sun shine :D
I only just got home and under cover when no more than 10 seconds later it started to bucket down. Hopefully tomorrow the weather should be good enough so I can ride to work in peak-hour traffic without having to worry about rain.
I just tried to book my CBT, instead they booked me in for a taster session because I didn't want to drive an automatic.
I got a '93 Suzuki PV, very popular in Finland.
I was too lazy to get a picture of my own PV, but it looks exactly like this, just a bit lower.

Why would they do that? Fucking weird. How much are they charging for this "taster" session?

£30, I'm kind of annoyed because its not like I was given a choice after I told them I've never riden before.
I've never bothered to get a motorcycle endorsement because I like 48cc engines but how hard is working a motorcycle in comparison to a normal moped of around 50 pounds weight with a clutch lever?

I could never ride one of those. I'm way too tall and my legs are way too long. :v:
[editline]16th June 2011[/editline]
I do have one of those. It's so much fun to do wheelies and shit with it :v:
It's not registered for road use tho. Not like I would ever need it for that.
I wrecked my bike, it's so messed up it's beyond repair :smithicide:
