So, a few days ago (Before I got sick), I really opened up my GL1000 and see what it could do. I was going 80 in 4th gear before I knew it. That thing is awesome.
I was going 80 in 4th gear before I knew it. That thing is awesome.
The first and last time I rode a street bike, pretty sure it was a 1000, I was doing 100 in 3rd or 4th, probably tapped out, didn't know what to listen for really, those things sound so weird... Then wanted to see what it'd do, shifted and hit 130 almost instantly, and the thing was still pulling. By that time the highway was ending, so had to shut it down. Those things have way too much power for the city streets, they ride better as you go faster. I also discovered going fast isn't as thrilling as they say it is. I'd rather be jumping.
Yeah, but you have to remember I don't ride a street bike. And yeah, I don't keep up with anything other than dirt bikes, when I see 1000 I assume super bike type things hehe Just looked at your bike on a quick search, looks pretty sick actually, what year?
I ride a Cbr 600 and can't imagine what a 1000 or higher street bike would feel like. I just feel like I can accelerate as fast as I'd ever want to. I sometimes have a hard time keeping myself in check. It's so easy to just hold the clutch a tiny bit longer and pull a tiny bit harder on the throttle and end up in a wheelie.
I made this thread in the Automotive Addicts section of Facepunch, but, I was told to repost it here. So, that is what I have done. Hello guys. I was looking to buy a Honday CBR 125 - RS hopefully brand new. But, it depends on the price. They usually cost about £1500. This will not only be my first motorbike, but my first anything. All I have ever rode is a bicycle. I am 17 and have suddenly taken a huge interest in motorbikes. Originally I was going to get a Moped because Cars are too expensive. But, now I want a motorbike. Can anyone tell me if this bike is any good, or, if there are any other good starter bikes out there that don't exceed 125CC and 15KW of power. If anyone has any advice on this motorbike, other motorbikes or even motorbikes in general. That would be great! Thanks in advance. Due to UK laws and regulations, I have to take a CBT to purchase and drive a motorbike and I can only have a motorbike that does not exceed 125CC and 15KW output of power. Then when I am 18 I can take another motorbike test that allows me to get a much more powerful motorbike. So, that's why the CC and Power output is low.
You are pretty much like me. I started looking at mopeds but now I'm looking at getting a CBR125R too. Many insurance agencies here in Nova Scotia charge by the displacement, so I might as well get a smaller bike to learn on. They are fantastic bikes from what I've heard. The 2011 model does significantly better on highways from what I've heard, so good choice there. Its comfortable if you are tall too, apparently, so its a good choice.

Been really keen to get into riding, took a learner's course here in Sydney about a month ago, but i've nearly forgotten everything, fuck.
So my tail light fell apart on my trip, which I posted on the last page [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/hUIEu.jpg[/img_thumb] I finally got my replacement LED tail light a few days ago and finished making a bracket for it today. Just a few finishing touches (bolts, washers, nylocs) and wiring it up before it's all done. It should be nice and noticeable to vehicles behind me. Liveries on a street vehicle look silly, don't deny it.
~semi huge wall-o-text inbound~ Has anyone heard of a Honda 90? Over the thanksgiving weekend, we went through my grandfather's barn because my parents had stored stuff there when my grandmother passed away (not the wife of the grandfather I just mentioned). Anyway, this barn is full of stuff from as early as 1910, mostly old bottles from that era though. I was moving some giant paintings around (my grandmother was a frivolous spender, always buying large ornate things) when I noticed this sheet covering something up in the back corner, naturally I was curious as to what lay beneath. I pulled it up, and there was a beautiful yellow Honda 90 from 1967. Normally, I'm not into automobiles (or bikes for that matter) but this completely threw me off guard, I was so impressed that I decided that it would be mine. I asked my grandfather, and he agreed to let me have it. It's currently sitting in my driveway awaiting the day I can get my hands on some cleaning supplies + some steel wool. Should I take pictures of it? It looks really old and fucking gorgeous. I would give you a picture from google but for some reason they don't do the bike justice, they all look really... different, I can't explain it.
Should I take pictures of it? It looks really old and fucking gorgeous.
A rather silly question. Yes pictures. Lots and lots of pictures.
I have seen one of them in person, love at first sight.
That's funny, my dad was just showing me pictures of his old 90 and I was saying how much I want one. His was black, like this: But his pipe had a perforated heat shield that was angled up a little bit.
I've been wanting a bike for quite a while now and originally I wanted a Suzuki DRZ400SM. Since then my tastes have changed a bit after I rode a Suzuki GS500 a bit. I really really like the look of Honda CBR600's and I'm wondering if a 2006 CBR600F4i would be too much power for a first bike. I'm a pretty responsible person when it comes to vehicles but I have a huge appreciation for performance. I want a bike which I won't soon outgrow but will also be a bit forgiving. Here's a few for sale in my area. My other though was to get a new Honda CBR250r and learn on it. My fear with doing that though is that I would quickly outgrow it. EDIT: I've decided against the CBR after a little more research...
1 mile is best mileage
A 600 isn't too much for you if you are easy on it. Its incredibly easy to go fast on it but if you weigh more than 100 pounds it won't be a problem. Just remember how easy it is to get comfortable at high speeds and you'll eventually get complacent which is when something you're not prepared for happens.
Anyone have experience with the Suzuki SV650?
