Speaking of cafe racers, here's a really cool show about them. All 13 episodes. Loads of information and cool projects. http://www.dailymotion.com/playlist/x1vb6q_Faryus_cafe-racer-season-1/1#videoId=xniiog

How much does bikes cost for you guys? Here the average price for a used moped is about $650 while the average price for a used sportbike is about $1250. Also, do you guys think this would be a good Café Racer? The bike itself costs $1250. I'm sure modifying the seats and a few cuts and welding wont cost much right?
How much is basic insurance for a motorcycle?
Depends on too many things. To insure my GS500 is gonna cost around $550 a year. If I bought something like a 600cc supersport that would probably be over a grand.
Basic insurance for a YEAR for me was 75 dollars in the US.
Also depends on what you mean by basic I guess. I have options and that's what made the GS $500 to insure, but I think I could've gotten it down to under $200 if I removed the liability and uninsured coverage levels I had them at. I wouldn't ride a motorcycle without that stuff, though.
I'm talking about bare minimum coverage.
The average insurance for a 126-225cc bike here costs about $43
How much is basic insurance for a motorcycle?
Many insurance companies calculate it differently, certain ones by model, certain ones by displacement. You can get some damn cheap rates on a Honda CBR125.
The average insurance for a 126-225cc bike here costs about $43
Damn, here, between 50cc-450cc is 350-400$, 450cc+ is 650$, sport bike is 1400$. And thats only the DAMN PLATE, not the insurance. Depend on age, insurance can go up to 2000$ or more.
[t]http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/7609/wp000546.jpg[/t] Here is a friend of mines' cb350.
Damn, here, between 50cc-450cc is 350-400$, 450cc+ is 650$, sport bike is 1400$. And thats only the DAMN PLATE, not the insurance. Turns out someone attempted to make a cafe racer out of the $1250 bike I posted above too. The modification almost costs the same as the bike itself. [thumb]http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_4xg91UJDF7w/TGtaXZZKDpI/AAAAAAAAAX0/aEuUq6g-QC8/s1600/18102009092.jpg[/thumb]
Now that we're talking about cafe racers, does anybody know what bike this might be? Saw it ~1,5 years ago
Sure do, it's a triumph thruxton
Talking about triumph, I heard they make cafe racers.
im freaking pissed over in denmark that i have to get my number plates re-registered before i can drive my bike but the freaking place close at 2pm -.- the time im on work or school...
In here you get some private company to do it for a little fee. So its simpler and you can do it at almost any time.
im freaking pissed over in denmark that i have to get my number plates re-registered before i can drive my bike but the freaking place close at 2pm -.- the time im on work or school...
Why in the world would they close at 2 pm? If they are open particularly early before you need to work or go to school, you could try then.
Why in the world would they close at 2 pm? If they are open particularly early before you need to work or go to school, you could try then.
They open 9AM and close 2PM... ridiculous time...
God, they just told me to travel 1000miles to the Capital just so I can register my moped under my name. Fuck that.
God, they just told me to travel 1000miles to the Capital just so I can register my moped under my name.
Don't you guys have some sort of government office locally that does it? Technically I don't have a license so its some kind of a special case.
my new scooter.
my new scooter.
Why?
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/NMZOW.jpg[/img_thumb] my new scooter.
On that note: [img_thumb]http://www.maxmoto.co.uk/images/39%20Gilera%20DNA%2050.jpg[/img_thumb] (Click to enlarge) Gilera DNA. Looking to buy in near future. It's something different, and riding style seems more comfortable with my 1,90m+ length. Yes/No?
If you're going for the "Schakelbrommer" look at least get one with gears. It's more comfortable then a scooter though so that's a +
I'm not looking for that though. 50CC with a tiny bit of tuning for a small speed boost is all I'm after.
