Yeah, it won't do much over 100kph (~60mph) because it's sitting at 8-9k rpm and redline is at 9.5-10k or something. You also need to keep it over ~6k rpm to get any usable torque, which isn't so different to my Suzuki Across (which also sits at about 8-9k rpm at 100kph) but it's a I4 250cc and redlines at 16.5k rpm :v:
But if you just want to put around it's good. I also think it's perfect for my friend, who actually thinks a 250 is too big at the moment, it'll be a great starting bike for her.
Also me being a poser earlier today:

I wish north america actually had a better selection of 250cc bikes. All we really have is the Kawasaki Ninja 250, and more recently the honda cbr250r. I wish we had i4 250s that actually made power (Like that CBR250RR posted in the honda thread, that is my 250cc dream bike now)
Don't you guys have the Hyosung? Its re badged as a Naza here and apart from the rust problem in the old model the new one is pretty good.
Yeah we have Hyosung but they're hard to come by in most places.

I was looking up the CBR250R the other day, and holy shit I'm in love.
The Hyosung/Naza Blade has the aesthetics, but I'm not really impressed with the things I've been hearing about it overall. Besides, Naza is known among some to produce and rebrand cheap products, including their cars. =P
I wouldn't trust anything korean
My friends Hyosung was pretty... well, not very trustworthy. It sometimes just stopped running without any warnings or anything. It shot some pretty crazy backfires though. One time we were driving some twisty roads and it suddenly shot a huge, maybe a meter long flame pillar and then it almost stalled :v:
And the sound, holy shit. I still haven't seen any better sounding 125cc bike. Dat V2 roar.

In most of the cases I would surely agree. But I can't this time :p
Guess those bolts that broke off are turning out to be the biggest pain in the ass of my short mechanical life. Turns out I'm gonna have to pull the motor out just to have a shot at drilling them out.
I SURE DO LOVE THIS GS!
Thread is slooow.
Very.
I'm craving for a sports bike.
My bike's been at the mechanic longer than that I have had the privilege to actually have it in my possession, let alone drive it :(
My bike has been in the warehouse for 3 days now. I'm only getting in back somewhere from tomorrow till Wednesday.
Dream bike right here, My granddad used to have one but he crashed it and had to scrap it. Norton Dominator 99

What's the problem with it?

The engines they used where brutally simple as well, there are stories of them using cheap brandy when they ran out of petrol in some of thier races.

That sound. It's like a 2-stroke on drugs
Alright. Now I'm a bit pissed now.
After spending over 800 euro's (1000 dollars) on repairs alone, I can't even drive half a mile with it before I have to shut it down to avoid damage due to overheating. It gets so hot, the cooling tank starts to expel smoke/vapor in noticeable quantities. Mind you, this is with the lid tightly fastened. At the same time, when trying to accelerate, the engine does make more revs (sort of, not the proper revving sound), but the bike itself doesn't actually accelerate.
I've spent almost all of my money on the bike and repairs, and I'm still unable to ride it to the supermarket, which is just under a mile away. I'm so frustrated and disappointed right now. Not at the bike itself, because that's heaps of fun the short times I've been able to drive it. No, It's because I've spend a fortune (for my standards) and anxiously waited around 2 weeks total, only to get a bike back which isn't drivable. Even if it's an easy to fix problem, I can't get the mechanic to fix it until after the weekend which also means I've got to wait again until it's repaired.

what type of bike. what did u have done to it?
over heating = stuck thermostat most of the time. could also be a cracked head/ messed up head gasket. is your exhaust in good shape?
It's just a little 50CC Gilera DNA, completely standard and in good shape engine wise. Earlier today, when it was overheating, I've noticed that the cooling liquid was at a low level. So I've replenished it with around 250ML coolant. However, I did not "de-air" the system, nor do I know how to do it. Apparently, there should be a small screw near the cilinder head. Problem is, I don't know what a cilinder looks like and where it's located.
Honestly, I really hope that's the problem. Because it can be a dozen other things causing it, much harder to find and solve.
Quite a weird engine but I'm guessing this is the cylinder.

I know all too well what that's like. I've had my TT250 for nearly two years now and I've only been able to ride it for about 3 months of that, total. I've about matched what I paid for the bike in replacement parts and stuff, not to mention the countless hours I've spent working on it.
But like you, I enjoy the shit out of every second I spend on the bike, which makes it all worth it.
Keep at it, mate.
A jolly good fellow malaysian (posted in this thread few pages ago) recently linked me to a government page stating I can have a full B license when I'm 16. FUCK YES. Now I can consider getting a 400cc cafe racer.
Should the hot liquid coolant return into the coolant tank at a constant rate or not?
Should the hot liquid coolant return into the coolant tank at a constant rate or not?
I guess it should, I've never had a liquid cooled engine though so maybe someone else knows here?
If anyone knows more about these things than I do, and notice something amiss in the video below, I'd really like to know.
