Looks like your mate flipped his car. Seriously, that looks like an awesome place. Is that an abandoned military testing center like in the movies?
The snow is finally starting to melt. Thinking about selling my GSX600F and getting something a tad newer with all my savings. It needs some overall maintenance which i really don't want to do, got the bike for so cheap, would feel silly spending too much money on it. Oh, and since it's also got too many KW, don't want no troubles with the police again.
Did me some ridin' today. And then a mate joined me
Sweet man, where are these places? (Particularly the second one?) Here's one from my weekend:
http://g.co/maps/w28se Point A is picture one, Point B is the entrance to get to picture two. Where was your photo taken?
That place looks pretty cool. Mine was taken on a mundaring weir road run, decided to take one of the powerlines tracks (although I don't think it's part of THE powerlines track) before it got dark. Pretty sure this is the place here: http://maps.google.com.au/maps/place?ftid=0x0:0x0&q=-31.973382,116.101568&gl=au&hl=en&cad=src:ppiwlink&ei=zClWT8XgHIjKkgX_wIXeAw&dtab=2
Figured I'd post my bike and what I want to do with it. [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9497245/Photo%20Feb%2008%2C%206%2035%2051%20PM.jpg[/t] Here is it now. Its just a plain white CBR 600 f2. I have three ideas that I want to do. One is add the style design you see on the newer cbr's just in black on the white background. My second idea is to paint the whole bike black and paint the rims a metallic gold. And the third option would be to paint the bike black, gold stripes, gold rims. Luckily this picture is basically exactly what I'd like.
That bike in the second picture looks sweet. I'd go for that option. Anyways, an update on the DNA. Apparently, my radiator was clogged, causing the cilinder to build up an excessive amount of heat. To give you an idea, the cooling water reached 70 degree celcius (160 fahrenheit) after running stationary for 4 minutes. Due to the heat, the piston in the cilinder expanded causing it to graze and ruin the cilinder. The guys at the shop did feel sorry for me, so they gave me a 60 euro discount on the repairs (making it 50 euros including labor fees) So, new cilinder has been ordered, radiator gets declogged and small fuel pump hiccup fixed. To be honest, the cilinder needed to get renewed pretty soon anyway. It didn't start fluently and it prevented the electric start from working due to reduced compression. Hopefully everything will be dandy after this. [editline]6th March 2012[/editline] I see you rating my posts Dutchlike. Feeling smug that I didn't take that RS50? :v: Thanks for the support :)
Hey guys. I'm thinking about buying a bike for my dad's birthday (For him, obviously. Ultimate troll if not), and a fine specimen of a bike popped up on CL. It's a 2006 Ducati S2R 1000 with nine miles on it (I wtf'd when I saw '9' on the odo), but for 6.5 grand. Any input?

It's a pretty good deal, and unless there is nothing really wrong with the bike, and you are willing to shell out 6.5 grand, then go for it.

Well, my moped's fuel gauge does not work, the light switches has no tactility (I have to slowly adjust it to the off position cause I might end up getting the hi or lo lights instead), electric start does not work. I guess these are just first world problems and the biggest problem so far is the clutch does not really hold so if I am in the first or second gear a little twist makes me end up in neutral. Also, the road tax for my moped is RM2 per year. That's like, US 65 cents.

Here's another picture with my gippa and my friends Hyo at the top of zigzag road, if you haven't been there yet you should go its got a great view:
All these great pictures in this thread, and all I can offer is some depressing rainy weather as a backdrop for a bike that isn't actually here... :v:
my next bike: god i want one so bad. everyone i know thinks it's ugly but fuck the haters

Maybe by getting less or more body panels I dunno.

One of the best looking IF NOT the best looking nude bike ever. [editline]7th March 2012[/editline] Well, the mirrors are somewhat bulky
I'd put on some different mirrors anyway. Probably some bar ends.
Amazing looking bikes. Although one thing that has ALWAYS bothered me about it is those rabbit ear looking mirrors. They just don't fit the look of the bike, IMO.
As promised: (Ignore the bicycle, it's not actually mine.)
Who left their bike in the rain? They are certainly not caring people.

It's still easy to slide around corners with proper, brand new knobbies but I think the riding position of a dirt bike compared to a street bike makes a huge difference to whether you end up finishing the slide on your arse :v: The fact that you can easily stand up and just let the bike move and slide around underneath you is really helpful. Your mass isn't being thrown about by the bike, you can throw your mass about when you need to and your arms and legs are preventing a lot of shock getting to your head so you're not as disorientated with every big bump or rough terrain. My custom bike I call it the Bananahandle 3000
Been having problems recently, my vespa won start anymore. And this happened 30 mins after I got the electric start working. When I try the electric start the engine revs create a metal clank sound and shuts down. When I use the kick start is revs and nothing happen. We think its a problem in the carburetor cause no gas to flow into the engine. Its an LML vespa by the way.
Who left their bike in the rain? They are certainly not caring people.
Those bikes are pretty rust proof, and it's probably because there are too many bikes in the shed, there are more bikes than people in the Netherlands.

Does the metal clanking sound when the elec starter is used sound like a weak battery not being able to kick the engine over properly? If you are use to kick starting and now it wont start with kick starting either it's probably not the battery, but you can make sure by checking the voltage with a multimeter. Is the engine firing? or is it just turning over with no spark? You should be able to tell this from what it sounds like. If it's not firing you can try two things: - Take the airbox off and squirt some fuel directly into the carby and try to start it. If it fires and runs for a second then your problem is the fuel is not getting to the carby. Not sure if vespas have fuel petcocks but yours may have become blocked/broken. - Get something like Start ya bastard, remove your air filter and spray into into the carby via the airbox hole. If it fires take the above advice... If it wont fire with any of these things then you can assume that the fuel is atleast getting to the carby. You can try checking around your carby and making sure that no vacuum hoses have fallen off. If that's not the issue then you can disconnect the spark plug lead and make sure its sparking when kickstarting/elec starting. If it's not sparking then it could be the lead or the ignition coil thats causing your problem. If it is sparking then I guess it's possible the spark plug is so far fouled that it wont start anymore. Hopefully this gives you a list of things to try out, let me know how it goes. Oh and if the metal clank sound, sounds terrible or like your engine eating itself then I would take it straight to a mechanic or you might do some serious damage if you continue to crank it, but given that you didn't say it make the clanking sound when kick starting, I'll assume its fine.
Well my battery is brand new but sometimes the electric starter does not even turn at all. It seems like there is a problem with the wiring or the start motor itself. It wont start with kickstart too so I guess the battery is fine.
Is the engine firing? or is it just turning over with no spark?
Alright, but I have heard from people that the LML's carb is pure shit and the moped needs to be tilted just so a proper fuel mixture gets into the engine. Is that considered as engine eating itself? It might be the starter motor though. I'm considering heavily on changing the spark plugs and the carb, even if I get this problem fixed. Would probably be best for the long run anyway. I'm quite surprised this happened though, the moped is from 2005, I bought it used and it had no more than 400miles on it. Probably because of long storage and it needs some 'heating up'.
