I decided to get the cm400 out and ride it in the yard. Started it, with full choke. Let it idle for 3-5 minutes. Hop on it every time I touch the throttle it bogs and quits. Sane thing if I take full choke off. After fumbling around for ten minutes. I give up. Go inside eat dinner.
So I decide to pull the bowls off. So I undo the screw so I can drain the bowls. Only a few drops come out. Interesting I think. Flip it to reserve. It flows out. Back to on it stops. Close the screw. Flip to reserve and it fires right up and runs gear. After. 97 miles, taking th carbs off three or 4 times, having a stuck float valve that drained about 1/2 gallon of gas out. I have finally ran a tank through it, in 3 months.
I've had my bike license for a year as of yesterday, so now I can go for my open class license (>250cc).
I'd really like to get a TT600S. Kick start, as opposed to electric like the TT600E, but it's more offroad orientated than the E model. USD forks, Ohlins rear shock, look sweet (imo).
Unfortunately they're hard to come by and I'd want to get a larger fuel tank for it, which will probably cost me close to $500 to get.

I'm probably going to get an XT600e; They're much easier to come by, usually not as thrashed, cheaper, plus I should be able to find one that already has a big 21L tank on it (much like in the 2nd picture of the ex-Aus Army XT below)

I should probably sell one of my current bikes first though...
You can also think about a DRZ-400, its an amazing and very reliable bike for dual sport, its also cheap. It can get you pretty much anywhere you want. Its also about 40-50 lbs lighter, more capable dirt bike and more ergonomic.

Cool bike, but far too complicated for my liking. My mate has a DRz400e, I watched him rebuild it in my garage after he drowned it. I often tease him about how I don't have to remove a single bit of plastic from my TT250 to change the spark plug or adjust the carby pilot screw and various other things.
They're also a decent bit dearer than the XTs. I can get a an XT600 in decent condition for about $3k where as my mates '00 DRz cost him $4k and it was hardly in the best condition when he got it. They're very sought-after bikes here and they keep their value almost TOO well. All the well kept S models with oversized fuel tanks are usually $6-7k.
I mainly want the bike for commuting/general riding/longer trips and going from what I've seen of my mates E model (I understand it would be different with the S model), it's not really that great for long distance: Hard seat, short gearing, chews through fuel when you're on/off the throttle thanks to the fuel pump. It's also a very tall bike stock.
I'd also go for a DR650, but again, as I've noticed with the DRz (and my Across) they're a bit unnecessarily complicated sometimes, plus they're also more expensive.
Also, for getting parts, my closest Suzuki store is a 30-40 minute trip (one way) and very close to the city so traffic and parking is shit, where as there's a Yamaha shop only 10 minutes from home/work (I work 5 days a week until 5PM, shop closes 5:30).
As for the weight, yeah it is pretty heavy, but as I said, it's going to be an commuting/adventuring touring/general riding bike, so weight isn't such an issue. I'll probably end up getting a fancy, pimping, light, powerful enduro bike for the dirty weekend fun rides eventually anyway.
Thanks for the suggestion though. I don't want to come off like I'm being closed-minded or anything, I appreciate the input :v:
3-4k? Damn thats expensive, i got my ktm 525 2006 for 3500$, 4000km odo, i though that was expensive.
But anyway, its your choice, xt are also good bike.
Oh my god, just found some bikeporn. Looks PERFECT. And doesn't just look. It's also got a 750cc 2-stroke motor in it. Oh my god, must be a blast to ride.

I love cafe style.
It looks like the kawasaki H2. It also had 750 and got 3 cylinders, but stopped the production in 1976.
1973 model.

In your pic, the top looks like a retro chassis, with a modern looking bottom.
It's an H2. It was posted on BikeEXIF not long ago:

Taking my compulsory basic test on Tuesday which will qualify me for 125cc bikes for 2 years, once I get a job I can buy myself a bike, I'm pretty excited about it
Went up to Mundaring Weir near Perth, Western Australia yesterday with a mate on his VTR250.
Definitely going up there more often.

Yeah, still working on cutting out the wind noise. Try turning the volume down a bit in future, though ;)
CBT instructor cancelled the course at the last minute, waiting for his call to re arrange it. Got up at 7am for nothing :(

I obtained my motorcycle license a few weeks ago and have been looking around for a bike. My dad decided to help me and told me he would pay for all of it. Since then, I've been excited to get a new motorcycle. A few days later, today, a note shows up on my desk that says "Here is your bike. Enjoy!" I can't wait to ride it.

Took me a while to realise it's a scale model
[editline]21st June 2012[/editline]
Also, CBT arranged for monday, cant wait :D
At first I thought what was the bike doing in your living room.
Then I clicked on the picture and saw the wallet.
I bought a 1:12 scale CBR1000RR a couple weeks back for a friend.
She was too scared to actually go on a bike, but went to a bike shop with her house-mate who was looking at getting a bike, saw a brand new CBR600RR and fell in love with it and now wants to get a bike O_o (crazy women)
She can't afford a brand new 600cc sports bike let alone a cheap, second-hand 250cc bike that she'd have to learn on/ride for a year before getting her open class license, but now she has the model sitting on the shelf as motivation to save :v:

The freakishly large headlight is a very nice touch. Definitely sets it apart.
What happens if you sneeze while you're riding?
Maybe I'm the only one, but I think it's hideous.

Thats one hell of a headlight.
What happens if you sneeze while you're riding?
Oddly enough I've NEVER EVER sneezed while I was riding. I have horrible allergies in fall/spring too which is why its so shocking.
Actually did my CBT today this time, can't wait to get a bike now
I'm going to buy a KLR650 and ride across Australia.
Come with me Anklyne
