When I have my license, I'll be getting one of these:

No, it's manly
I own an '83 KZ 550 but the previous owner chopped it a bit. Got it for $285 . Can't wait for riding season again.

Yay for my driveway being covered in shit.
Well I just sold this bike today. I am sad but I am going to save up for a newer bike I hope.
I turn 16 soon and I'm wondering if I should get my CBT and get a 50cc classic moped such as this:

Having to use L plates for a year or so.
Or should I wait until I'm 17 and get a 125cc motorbike or a car?
If you REALLY need a vehicle, get a 50cc. But for fuck's sake get one with decent looks and power, say...

Yes, it's a 50cc. Yes, it does not look ridicule/garbage. Yes it can boost some nice punch if you know how to tweak it properly.
I think I may just wait until I turn 17 and get a 125, because I already have a road bike which I can maintain an average speed of 20mph on.

Rather get older one, the new aprilias have rabasa engine which is rubbish.
And actually if you're getting a 50cc you should definitely get a enduro or supermotard, they are buttloads more fun since you can actually drive them off road

I'd wait and get the 125cc personally. Cycling is probably faster than UK (I'm assuming you're UK) legal 50cc bikes.
I don't know what it is, If its just the weather or just I've started noticing it more. But I've had at least 5 people approach me about my 250 ninja and were interested in it. They even walked past a gsxr 600 to talk to me about my bike. I was kinda shocked.
Okay, I'm thinking of getting a motorcycle licence, but i'll be limited to 125cc, I know there probably is, but whats the difference between engine size? Is 125cc even that great? Can it get me far?
I'm the last to talk, but a 125cc is a very popular learner's bike. It'll take you as far as the gas tank will allow.

125cc is fine for learning but you'll be wanting more power quite soon
Gotta love my lil'125, 30 kms per liter is a helpful trait now that gas prices are getting bitchy, but still, there's always that powerthirst building up...
Dammit, I'm going to need to rob an orphanage and get myself a Bonneville.
Gah, I want a bike so bad right now. My car is in pieces waiting for me to get around to fixing, and quite often I just get the urge to "drive". The only thing I have to drive right now is an 04 escalade, 13 highway when driven like a grandpa, and I'm no grandpa. I seriously think I went through a quarter tank of gas in like 30 miles.
But if I had a bike, wind in my face, actually no because I'd be wearing a helemt, but fun to ride, fast, and 30+mpg even when ridden like you hate it.
Seriously, saw a video of a 250whp ZX14 doing 70-180mph pulls (not that id get a superbike like this, just an example), average MPG thing on gauge cluster? "35.4MPG AVERAGE"

wait another year, save for a 250cc bike (honda rebel maybe?)
trust me, i've had a little honda 50cc bike since i was 12, i would never take it on the road for it's size. its just too little for commuting. 250cc bikes are good for beginners, eventually you'll get a good feel for the weight and you'll probably want to move up to a mid-sized bike.
I've been considering getting a sports bike for ages now and would appreciate some comments
If I did get one, my first bike would be a ninja 250. I live in florida and can ride year round, and if the weather is really shitty I could just leave the bike at home and take a car.
if I sell my car I'll have more than enough money to afford everything. I would buy full gear and estimate that it'd cost around $1,000 total. I'm estimating total it will cost about $5,000 for everything.
any suggestions?
Whoa, $5000 all in all? That's a bit steep for a first bike, what year are you looking at?

no, I mean $5,000 for all the expenses.
1) bike itself - $3,000
2) gear - $1,000
3) MSF course - $225
4) insurance

1,000 gear!?
I paid 100 for helmet, I got the jacket for free but Its a $200 jacket so i'd say 300 and I got gloves for free as well which would normally cost about 40
So gear for me is 340, I don't wear leather pants or textile pants just regular jeans, as well as high top shoes or cowboy boots.
Motorcycle course for me only cost 100
Insurance is cheap as well.. I pay around 20 a month.
Man, just get a cheap Carbon brand leather jacket and a good $250 helmet. Don't worry about getting super awesome Johnny Rocket carbon fiber double padded 200mph rated gear until you have a bike that you have all that to worry about on.

$150-$200 for helmet, ~$150 for jacket, ~$150 for pants, ~$150 for boots, ~$80 for gloves so around $500 right there. and if you want more than one pair of gloves (one pair for summer and one pair for winter) then it'll be even more.
the msf course is $230 here.

a ninja 250 can reach 100mph. even if you fall off a bike at 40 mph it's still going to hurt like a bitch if you don't have good gear.

I'm one of the few people on the forum who can claim to know the smell of a failed lane change. Good gear is awesome, but ~20% of not getting hurt on a fall is knowing how to fall, ~20% gear, and ~60% luck.
How easy is it with an inch of slush and snow on the roads and ice everywhere?
Just keep to the tracks the car tyres make and be careful when changing lanes; you can easily go sideways.
I got caught out this winter on the CBR; the back end would slide everywhere with anything more than idle RPMs and a feathered clutch on the slush. Also the back brake was nearly useless due to the shit that builds up around it in the slush. Feet down and gentle front brake.
Good times.
Also on the gear front it's worth checking Ebay; a friend got some really good gear for a fraction of what it was worth with no real wear to it.
Always buy new helmets though; you should know the history of it. They are easy to drop and damage internally.
Got a Gilera Runner Purejet. Awesome scooter. Planning on a bigger bike someday in the future when I get a lil' bit older :P

I want to get my license but my mother says not until I have my driving license for a few years yet. She's a hypocrite and has a Honda R6.
