He's talking like maybe a centimeter open. That will let enough air flow in to keep it from fogging up. You shouldn't really get cold (maybe a little sniffle) and rain definitely won't get in.
Yeah, that's what I did last time I rode. Last night I tried with a buff over my mouth/nose, and I think it helped a bit, though I don't know how it is when the outside is minus degrees, though.
This is what I did in the winter, and I never died

Hah, when I drove a moped I had a regular full helmet, didn't wear a scarf and drove all year also at -20C and less (because Norway obviously) and I only died once!
About the Yamaha 225 dirtbike I posted about on the last page, do you guy's think I should ask the guy if He Can lower the price for me, he asked 1500 but I would like to go something like $1300 - $1400, cash of course. My mom even suggested 12, but she doesn't know shit about dirtbikes.
I own a Y reg Suzuki GSF600 Bandit, the naked version. It's a joy to ride and it takes the corners well but it's a bit of a beast when riding slowly due to it's weight. Any other Bandit owners find it a handful at low speed?

Ask if he's open to offers on the price, if he says yes, make a low offer. You can offer a price you think they'll reject because if they do, you just offer higher until they accept.
How low you first ask depends on the condition of the bike and your location. Where I live, $500 less is a pretty standard offer for a cheap bike in decent condition.
If he's asking $1500, offering $1200 sounds reasonable. You might even offer $1100. If he says no, add $100 or so until he accepts.
Basically, your first offer doesn't have to be on their lower threshold. Aim low, work back up. You never know, you might get lucky and they'll accept your first offer. For my street bike, I offered $500 below asking price and he took it :v:
A little update on the whole foggy visor thingy: I played around with my helmet/visor a bit yesterday, and found that I could have it a bit more closed than what I had during my one trip. When I have it this closed, air comes in, but no water droplets can (and not as much air comes in)
i like the bandit.
over the last month it went down like this. went to go ride notice gas pouring out of the side of the carb. removed carbs got some cheap oring, put in fixed leak, checked all bolts without my torque wrench, snapped off valve cover bolt, extracted broken bolt messed up threads got generic bolt, tourqed it in, rode to work(108 mile round trip), started puking oil out of valve cover, bolt worked loose, messed put threads even more. went to drill and tap, drill slipped ovaled the hole. ordered new rocker arm set up. got them in and ordered new bolts from honda. put everything together, torqued down. turn on gas leaking again. the autozone o rings shrunk with gas contact. now removed carb again replaced aorings again and no leaks as of this moment but it is raining out.....i just wanna ride the cm400 some more before it snows lol
Question, I'm looking at getting my first bike (oh god insurance in my city for a 19 year old new rider...) and there's a place selling some '05-'07 Suzuki GZ250s for $2800 Canadian. These used to be riding school bikes in the States, as such everything is in Imperial (we run on Metric) and it's barebones as hell. None of the bikes have more than 4000 miles on them, but all of them have various cosmetic damages and some a few dents, and I'm worried about how long the engines have spent idling through their lives. Is $2800 delivered to my door a reasonable asking price, or should I be pushing for lower?
being air cooled i bet they havnt idled alot.
they were 3800 bucks new. i say if u want one 3800 delevered seems pretty good. get a shop manual and give it a once over and give it hell.
rode a touch over 4 hours, went out to some of my grand parents property, cause i havnt been in years.... stopped for a break on the way back and took a couple pics. temps were mid 60's to start and mid 70's to end.

Those pics are making me mad jealous. It's getting cold as hell here, after 2 hours of riding my fingers feel like you could snap them off just like that.
Might get heated grips from my next paycheck, will have to see.

i really like that bike.
i almost bought a set last year..
its been down to about 40f here, but it seems to rain everyday.
i wanna take my cm for a couple hour joy ride once more before it freezes..
I've heard heated gloves are better than heated grips.
I don't like this part of the Finnish climate
at all

I wouldn't mind it if i had proper rain gear, riding in the rain with my current gear is painful.
Also that feel when you wax your bike thoroughly and the next day it rains.
Installed my clubmans today, still waiting to get my carbs back:

Just picked up my 2002 Ducati 620 Dark today. Everything is good.
Minus the battery, stupid batteries always gotta be battery-ing.
Went and had another two driving lessons today, it was pouring down, it was cold and the radio was shitty (I could barely hear my teacher, it was "screaming", and I heard myself really loud) :suicide:
And as if that wasn't enough, we decided that we should stop training now, as I wont be able to make the test on monday (last chance before the DMW packs up for the winter), and instead I should continue training in the spring. It sucks that I wont get my license this year and instead have to spend time (and money) to get it in the spring.
But instead of having to take whole days of I can now skip a few classes, which will help with school. And I now don't have to travel far to the traffic school (I hate commuting by myself), and can instead just do it on the days when I'm in town for school anyways.
I guess not all is well with Ducati :[ Bought new plugs today because the old ones were pretty blackened and had a pretty weak spark, and they weren't starting it up, and it still doesn't start.

pull the bottom of the carb off( the bowl) check the jets and clean it out.
your should be like the

check 32 and 27. shoud be 4 screws on the bottom of the carb to get the bowl off, also drain gas through the over flow first. the rubber hose at the bottom of the carb should have a flat head screw near it to drain them, check all carbs
620's are EFI fed, thankfully. I pulled my spark plugs and they had liquid on them and I sort of assumed that it was condensed gas.

oh forgot that my bad
carbs are so easy to work on...
fuel pump kicking on?
are your wires good?
how about the choke?
I can hear the fuel pump buzzing every time I turn the key, and it smells like gas out the exhaust. Gonna be fun when it actually starts and blows out my eardrums with backfiring goodness.
The thing is, it can be push started and it'll run fine after that (Unfortunately I live on dirt so it's exceedingly hard to do such a thing), so I'm assuming it's the battery.
The choke, I had it set to full on just because it was semi breezy.
And by breezy I mean chilly.

is your battery good?
it something to do with wiring then maybe a relay sticking? i really dont know.
I was planning on bringing the battery to NAPA for testing. I seem to have shoddy luck with batteries.

ive bought three atv/ motorcycle batteries this year.......
my cm4003e didnt come with one.
my honda 500 rubicon foreman battery went dead
my artic cat 700 h1 efi went dead also....
at about 90 bucks a pop for agm batteries it adds up fast.
Hm... Duc starts up when it's hooked to a car battery (Car is obviously off), but it seems when the throttle gets too open it shuts off. At about six thousand RPM it's like you're easing off the throttle even if you're not, and then putt putt shut off.
Man I'm starting to do a lot to the GS now that I'm waiting for my carbs and I'm not going to pick up another bike anytime soon.
Bought a Katana 600 shock, going to buy new front springs, thinking about going for dual dominator headlights, might get some rearsets.
So today, while I was inside the DMV getting my tags/registration, law enforcement kindly decided to ticket my scooter for expired tags.
God damn it.
