Depends on where you live. Easiest way to find out would be to go on comparison sites, such as www.comparethemarket.com or www.confused.com and get some quotes. Takes about 10 minutes.
comparison sites can be a pain in the arse though, my dad did a check on one and literally 5 minutes later got a phone call from one of the companies asking them to buy their insurance
Yeah I've been there before. Just stay the fuck away from Money Supermarket, I got calls for 2 days after looking at a few bikes. If you use compare the market you won't get any calls, I've been using it for a while now.
I posted this on the GS forums but I'll post it here as well if any of you got any ideas or if it might be normal:

sounds like too loose vavle clearence.
It actually settled down after a bit. I can still hear it now and again but it's nowhere near as bad and you really have to be listening for it.
Only other "big" problem with the bike is I'm leaking oil somewhere on the front of the engine and I need to find where. If it's a base gasket I'm going to say fuck it and will probably get a shop to replace it.
I'm gonna have to disown my bike or something if I am living at a place without a garage of some sort. Fuck keeping it outside.

Big grill cover lol.
Fucking fuck, I was too lazy to go out riding when it was nice on Monday, and too busy drinking to go out yesterday, it was raining all day Tuesday and Wednesday, and even though it was nice this morning, it was starting to rain by the time I got home.
Bloody weather is taking away my learning time, I want to be at least somewhat competent next spring.

run to a local outdoors place ( dicks, cabelas ect. ) get you some frogtoggs pants and coat, with will keep u dry, some insualated underwear and bib or jeans and a hoodie with a long sleeve underneath( if u dont have gear, if your learning u prolly dont have any). also leather gloves (insulated). and tall boots.
go play around at low speed keeping your weight centered and turning.
I want to get used to riding on dry roads when I'm comfortably dry before I try riding on wet roads when I'm uncomfortably wet and cold. I'm still new to this, I don't want to take a step I'm not comfortable with yet and fuck up and/or freak myself out.
since no one's posting, i'll post a picture of my baby as it sits in the garage, waiting for a sunny day

the list of mods on this thing is going to get longer and longer. maybe new rearsets for xmas, gonna throw the new front springs in soon.
Got out on my bike the day Sandy hit, it was raining pretty good by the time I got home, but the water pooling by my crotch is another reason not to ride in the rain ever again unless I have to. Also, strong winds are unnerving.
Hopefully I get this job I went to an interview for, there's a Yamaha YBR I've got my eye on

125cc? Year? Carb or injection?
__________________________
I finally got my new speedometer/tachometer today. Drove to the store, picked it up which was really fun, I just stalled the car twice. :v Came home, unscrewed the old speedometer and struggled with getting the headlight off (apperantly it's connected in the headlight), only to realize that I had to take off the glass to get to the wires, and the bolt didn't unscrew. The weird thing is, the new speedometer has one less light (it's missing the check engine light for some reason), but it still has the same amount of wires. But I got it hooked up without any further problems, and it all worked perfectly. I'll see if I remember to take some photos tomorrow.
Yeah its a 125cc, '08. Not sure if carb or injection but I wouldn't mind either way.

Yeah, that's an injection. '07 and up is, I think. I've got an '07 myself, injection version. The guy that sold it said it was a 2010 model, but that was because it had been three years at the dealer's (still though, I knew it wasn't a 2010, and it hasn't rolled any more kilometers because of it), which we only found out after going to a garage and having them check the frame number.
They're beautiful bikes, though. But I sometimes find it hard to explain to people what kind of bike it is (it seems that the only types of bikes are sports, cruiser and enduro)
Hopefully I'll be able to talk them down a bit but I'd still be okay with paying the asking price. I would be getting something like a CBR but where I live is a bit rough so insurance is really high on bikes that look like they would be stolen. I don't mind though, I think the YBR has a nice charm to it, most of my friends agree too.
Yeah, I think you're getting a pretty good deal on that price, I paid £1744 for my bike, and that was with a scratch on the front "fender", missing front footpeg rubber and a broken sidestand switch. (and the speedometer I was talking about earlier, it had a broken glass and a scratched case)
Well I find out on saturday if I got the job so fingers crossed. If I don't get it I gotta hope no one buys it by the time I finally get a job...
By the 15th I will be the owner of a motorcycle. What kind yet, I do not know but going to be spending around 3000 and if I dont like the kind I get I can always sell it later.
Hello there bikers!
I am soon to join the biking family, I am going to do my CBT in a week or two, and then hopefully get a good 125cc cruiser like a Suzuki Marauder or intruder. My brother has owned a motorcycle for a bit over a year now. Currently he owns a Yamaha Virago 535.
Do you guys know any places to buy bike in the UK other than Gumtree and Trade-It?

ebay
They're pretty much the most popular way to sell your bike so that's where you'll find the majority of them.
Finally mounted my cam to my new helmet, then went for a quick ride to test it out, along with trying my new tank paniers and to check out a couple of spots I've seen while driving past.
Still haven't done anything about the mic/wind noise yet :/

Bought a 50cc Peugeot Jetforce. Nothing fancy, just something to get me to college easily. Looking forward to getting it on the road

Passed my CBT yesterday :D Looking at getting a YBR 125 '08 for around £1400. All I need is a decent insurance quote and I'm good to go! Damn you insurance companies

Dang, wish i had trail like yours, all i have is mostly very rocky trail, and they are large rock.
Sweet, I booked my CBT for Tuesday the 13th of November. I was supposed to give her my deposit over the phone but she said her little card machine was not working. That means I HAVE to be there on that day. Then I just need to find a bike...
