NOOO! Permanent snow around now, i think.
Big winterization-day on friday :(
Now the proud owner of a little Yamaha YBR 125cc - £1400, not bad.. I think.
Insurance companies still are being little pussies about it all though :(
So how does one properly winterize a bike? Is there anything in specific I need to do, or do I just toss it in the garage and hook the battery up to a trickle-charger?

Giving it a service is probably a good idea. I don't live in a climate where I can't ride during winter, but I've read that it's a good idea to put the bike away with clean oil. So give it a wash, lube the chain/sprockets well so they don't rust (you'll probably want to check/relube them regularly while it's stored anyway) and maybe was and re-oil the air filter if it's an oiled type.
Change the oils, lube all the wire robes, chains, sprockets and all the other things that need lubing, wash and wax the bike, take the battery out and bring it inside etc, maybe throw somekinda cover on top of it
Some say that you should completely drain the fuel system and others say that it should be filled as much as possible. I have no idea which way is right so I usually just fill 'er up when I bring my bike to it's winter storage.
You should also try to secure the bike in such a way that the wheels don't touch the ground so they don't receive any imprints and the suspension is relaxed.
That bike is a little too big for you.
ROFL good one :)
Ok bet those would be great on dry winter roads.
Plus note it was 50 deg f yesterday. I rode about 30 miles. Just ran around towns.
50f is like a average summer day in finland
That must suck.
So do you even have air conditioners
I don't like to ride unless its above 45f
But I like to commute on the bikes. But that is 108miles round trip. At 5am and 11pm.
£490 to insure my Jetforce third party only, hnnnng
Buy a good lock, mopeds are constantly stolen
How do you guys rate a Suzuki EN 125?

Suzuki is a good brand, can't really go wrong.
Hey what would be a symptom of bad ass kickback when trying to start up? I knee'd myself in the mouth this morning, it happens when I let it sit awhile. I though it was flooded at first but no I even checked the spark plug it just doesn't want to start. XT250 1980.

YBR bros <3
I think the insurance for my 2010 (actually a 2007, but first registered in '10) YBR was around £274.

The guy selling it hasn't replied to me on Gumtree.
I am saddened by this.
Try calling
No phone number on the ad.
I've had so many fucking dud ads, it's very frustrating. You'd think they would at least have the decency to post a message on the ad; "No longer for sale" or something.

I wish more 125s existed in North America, specifically Canada, as a cheap starter bike, the only one we really get is the Honda CBR125.

Yeah, the UK needs more 125 cruisers that aren't shitty Chinese/Taiwanese makes. I really want an intruder, marauder, virago or something like that.
If it wasn't for insurance I'd be riding my Aprillia rs125 err'day.

My friend has one of those, apparently it is a gas guzzler.
Yeah, and the engines like to weld themselves together. The wonders of the 2 stroke engine.
I'll take as many strokes as I can get.
Awesome video.

Skip to around 2 minutes if you're impatient.
I'm pretty sure my kick starter is fucked somewhere in side, I got it started and I heard awful banging really intense I don't wanna have to split the case. :(
Three teeth on the kick starter gear are completely gone and inside the casing got them out and the gear it contacts about 4 teeth are sheared pretty good it looks as if it was pretty bad before and the guy didn't tell us.
CBT booked for Saturday, can't wait. Not the greatest weather recently though, I hope it isn't chucking it down.
