I had the worst weather. The worst bike. The worst roads. But I passed. YEAH.
America is bad about that. We go from permit to license. No CC restriction. A new motorist to cycling can get a 1600cc bike and off themselves bc of the throttle. In other news, i hate waiting for parts. have to wait till tomorrow for my chain and sprockets.

I just got my first not too long ago and its a 600. People want to same for used 250's as the do 600's and with the interstates I live around, a 250 would get destroyed.
good news everyone, itll be ready tomorrow.
most people dont even have learners permit when they get their first bike... with a written test u can legally ride 1 up from dusk to dawn. on any bike you want... had a few friends die like that. my 600 and 400 have 39 and 42 hp in that order. and i wouldnt want less power around here in tha mountains.
The dipped headlight on my '08 ybr has stopped working, but I don't know what bulb to change them with. Any clues? Or, if you want an "original" bulb, you want a 35/35W H4. I ordered a couple of off ebay for $34,80 I think. (not entirely sure, could have been 17,40 as well, I didn't order them myself and I didn't pay for them)

Might replace full beams at some point though, they're a joke. Probably can't see further than my stopping distance.
Woah those restrictions are pretty mild. There's a new thingy that starts on January 19th 2013 that says you have to take three tests (written, handling of the bike and a road test) to get a 125cc 11Kw license. Then you have to take two tests (written and road) two years later (you can't do it any earlier) to get a 35Kw license and then after ANOTHER TWO YEARS you have to take those tests AGAIN to finally get an unrestricted license. Glad to say I got mine a few weeks ago; it's 25Kw restricted and in two years will automatically become unrestricted.
Sadly I can't take my 125 test before January :( having fun on my 50 though, I can get it up to 50mph fairly easily (although I think the front wheel is slightly warped because it bounces like fuck at anything over 30), roundabouts and roads where I have to change lanes are pretty stressful though so I think I'm going to have to change my routes around to avoid them for a while until I'm a bit more experienced

I thought you could get a 125cc as soon as you hit 17 as long as your CBT hasn't expired

Also, I'm assuming you live in Norway, and you don't have to get the 125cc license, you can go straight to the 35kW, and you can take it as soon as you turn 18. Otherwise you can wait untill you are 24, are go straight for the unlimited one.

Itching to get a bike and be out on the roads.

Got a bike to do my test on. Got the excitement/determination to get the test over and done with. Got no test because they're all booked out. It's a waiting/phone calling game, now :/
Nope, I live in the Netherlands and you have to go through the whole thing, starting at 18 or wait till you are 24.
Oh, it just sounded so similar to the Norwegian laws (that are also coming on the 19th of January), I guess it's the EU's fault, then.

So I rode my bike downtown today for the first time because there's free parking for bikes downtown, and it fully justified why I never drive downtown. Nobody downtown knows how to drive. Getting there I was in the middle of rush hour, so it was slow, but no incidents, aside from trying to find parking for 15 minutes, but coming home I nearly got rear-ended by a guy who it seems like he ran a red, and was immediately pulled over by the cops, then as I was trying to change lanes because the car in front of me was stopped, the guy behind me was shifting lanes too, so I slammed on the brakes and bailed. Felt really embarrassed, there were some girls nearby who screamed "Oh my God!" at the top of their lungs, so I got the bike back up as fast as I could and drove off. I know have complete justification for why I never drive downtown, and don't plan on doing so again in the near future. The subway is both faster and safer. No to mention it's winter soon. Also felt really stupid because my bike died on me when I was heading out, turns out I was out of gas. I felt really stupid calling my dad to get gas.

Here's hoping I don't die. I hope your future town journeys go better than that one.
I love having my bike up and running. Just been riding around, looking for good roads and finding a lot that are just awesome to ride.
I'm about to buy insurance for my Royal Enfield which has an illegal exhaust fitted to it (Previous owner's doing). The insurance company I talked to said they would insure the bike with a non road legal exhaust. Could anyone tell me how the fuck that works? (UK)

There's such a thing as an illegal exhaust in the UK? Around here I'm not sure there's an illegal anything for bikes, so long as it's there, it's just certain things raise insurance costs.
I think the UK has a sound limit for exhausts.
I think the UK has a sound limit for exhausts.
Also emissions.
Most countries have a legal noise limit of 94dBa for exhausts.
According to a little tab on my chassis somewhere my exhaust is 92dB. It's on a 50cc bike. It is the most godawful racket you'll ever hear, I'm surprised I haven't had complaints from my neighbours.
I just picked up my latest bike. A Ducati 748 will post pics tomorrow
