Hmm everyone seems to like it so I should probably see this. The only problem is I'm afraid it'll be a bit too slow for me. There's been lots of widely acclaimed movies that I haven't been able to get into or didn't like because they've felt slow to me.

Holy shit I just finished watching this movie a few minutes ago. It was incredible.
Hm. I loved the atmosphere and the score, the entire movie reminded me a lot of Kubrick's A Space Odyssey. I think they kind of rushed the storyline near the beginning and left unimportant scenes near the end, it could have been delivered in a more consistent manner.
I was expecting some wide shots of the moon, but we never really got any. There were birds-eye views of the surface and narrow views of the rover, but the lighting never let the massive deserted scale of the moon be presented to the viewer.

[sp]That was a female helper. They didn't cut her out, the recorded video had a skip which was meant to hint at the fact it's not live, not cutting her out.[/sp]
I spoiled pretty much the entire movie for myself due to page 2.

This sounds like Solaris and 2001 aka THE BEST FUCKING MOVIES IN THE FUCKING WORLD COMBINED TOGHETER MOTHERFUCKER YES.

Wow the movie was incredible, really sad part was [sp]when the old Sam called back home and saw his daughter, telling the mother is dead and then calling on her father. And then the camera moved behind the truck and you could see the Earth :([/sp]

[sp]The original sam has been on earth for a while. The first one was a clone that just got in an unfortunate accident. When he got in the accident, gerty locked down the base so the new clone wouldn't go out and find it. the new sam said hew as going to fix the outer shell, excuse to get outside and find the crash with the old sam. ALL CLONES ARE WOKEN BY GERTY WHERE THEY ARE TOLD THEY WERE IN AN ACCIDENT. the accident is not specified.[/sp]
