I was going to watch this but it was only on in some obscure cinema on the other side of town that I wasn't prepared to travel to. It's probably stopped being shown there anyway so I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD.
[sp]I was pleasantly surprised GERTY wasn't evil, and actually ended up really liking his character. I called the whole clone thing as soon as the new sam wiped the dirt off the helmet. The Sam that goes back to earth won't really get a great life though because he'll end up dying after 3 years anyways... [/sp] :frown:
I'm not as "mind = blown" as others about this, some of the special effects were a little 'meh' in my opinion. [sp]for example the endless bays of clones looked pretty naff and some of the 2 Sam's together scenes could have been better. That said, there were a few '2 Sam's" scenes done alot better than that kind of thing is usually done. Not sure why some were good and some were bad, little off putting. Likewise with the CGI, the clone bays sucked but GERTY and the Moon Surface was done really well..[/sp] however it was still a pretty good movie. Better than most in recent years, District 9 was better tho.
but when [sp]they vomit blood all over the place they can not work so effectively[/sp]
[sp]i assumed that's because the clones were only made/unfortunately only last 3 years anyway, hence why they have to keep chucking in new ones. coupled of course with going crazy. in all the videos, they all start to deteriorate nearing their contract completion.[/sp]

[sp]which raises the question, will the sam that escapes to earth at the end just die after 3 years or what?[/sp]
Saw this back a few months ago, was fucking brilliant.

[sp]I had a hunch something was up when it showed the profile view of the new sam's face and he didn't have any sort of injury around his right eye. Even if sam will die in 3 years, the good to come out of it is that what Lunar did is now exposed to the world, that was exactly the kind of ending i was hoping for[/sp]

[sp]I imagine so, looks like Lunar "programmed" that into all the clones[/sp]

[sp]This whole thing with the expiration date is definitely plausible that he will die in 3 years.. or that scene with the water.. the way they showed it, made me think something was in the water, maybe a deterioration poison? Well it makes more sense for him to have the 3 year expiration date. But I don't want him to die :( [/sp]
What an amazing cliffhanger.

[sp]this makes more sense because you notice the blood-vomiting start more frequently after sam(1) eats his food. they also make references throughout the movie "what's for breakfast gerty?" "the usual, sam"[/sp]
just got the soundtrack for this movie
ah-may-zing

[sp]well, at the end, you hear a lot of broadcasts exposing the lunar company and their cloning, etc etc. maybe it was the food that poisoned the clones, and he lives like normal humans[/sp]
[sp]Did I miss when they mentioned what GERTY stood for? Or did they never mention it?[/sp]
they never mention that
Watched the movie last night. Amazing movie. I haven't been more pleased with a sci-fi movie since Sunshine.
[sp] Why would they need to make the clones die after 3 years if the clones just killed themselves by getting in the cryo-bed thing that vapourizes them, thinking they were going back to earth? [/sp]
This movie was awesome, even though the twist was expected as soon as [sp]he crashed and then woke up perfectly fine in the infermary[/sp],it still left a nice plot along with it. :D
They are fucking vomiting blood. I would not expect them to be fine.

Sunshine was shit though
Some of the CGI was a little stiff, I didn't notice it as much in the
sam v sam
scenes, but some of the vehicles and lunar surfaces looked a hair bit odd.
[sp]I'm surprised at how well this was, and kind of made you think about it. What would one man on the moon have any chance of doing to the cooperation that owned him? He's literally cut off from external contact if the cooperation decided that. I'm kinda sad and glad that the first sam manned up and died instead of the third clone. (Nutup or shutup?)
I think they might be cloned/programed with a 3 year expiration date due to the craziness, and the one that went home to earth would probably find a way to extend or reverse it.[/sp]

The hell Pigeon, why quote him without the spoiler tags?

Is that like
[/spolier]?
Fucking megavideo ruined this for me.
It stopped me after 72 minutes and made me wait an hour to watch the rest, so during that time my emotions reset to zero.

[sp]I think it's because the clones deteriorate, I don't think they're killed on purpose after 3 years.[/sp]
MAGRATHEA.
It was a great movie.

[sp]Sam is played by 2 different actors...[/sp]
[sp]Sam is played by 2 different actors...[/sp]
No, he isn't.
Oh, then it must be Sam in some different place. Because Robert Chalk plays Sam and so does Sam Rockwell.
"Robin Chalk as younger Sam"
I don't recall seeing a younger Sam
:raise: looks curious
Just watched it online, cool film. Sound track is nice ^^
I really liked this film and I liked the music too.
[sp]Regarding the 'jammer' things, isn't it inevitable that one of the clones would find them out after some time?[/sp]
[sp]They left the dead Sam in the car, so maybe another clone would've found him if the Sam Bell who escaped to earth didn't sprag.[/sp]
