He probably just realized that he was spending time on a forum that he could've been spending with his family, and decided that the only way to force him out of spending time here was to permaban himself. He made the right choice, if that was his reasoning. I'd like to think he had a better reason than just saying "Oh, fuck it."
He was by far the best moderator in this forum. He did his job very well.
