Quit bitching about ads, they're not THAT annoying
Yea, we just get harassed by them everywhere else: *Driving down the street *Watching TV *Watching DVDs (and not being able to skip them now) *Browsing most websites *Reading the paper or magazines We just would like a place w/o them! But yea, Youtube is tightly controlled now. Google doesn't have to go full out war on copyrighted stuff, just make a "Reasonable Attempt" to go after infringers - that means they could just take a few down of the stupid stuff and leave the rest.
I only go on youtube for high quality game videos or random videos like youtube poop, have to watch tv shows somewhere else now.
If there's one thing that irritates me about youtube right now it's Bloody audioswap in nearly half of all motherfucking popular videos Jesus christ is it annoying when you're looking up videos with commentary or based even partially off of sounds (ala car videos and such)
This faggot is what is wrong with youtube. http://www.youtube.com/user/RayWilliamJohnson
Whenever I want to look up information on a gun or anything used in combat, the comment section is filled with shit about Call of Duty. It's fucking annoying. What are you thoughts on this guy? http://www.youtube.com/user/ShaneDawsonTV2 Oh yeah, that also reminds me of this asshole who commented on about 16 comments people had left. People had left nice and funny comments about the video, then some idiot decides to reply to each one with some random reason why they're stupid and other shit.
It's the 3rd most visited site on the internet, of course there are going to be assholes.
Im sick of add, promoted videos, spammers and copywrite laws. Youtube used to be cool!
Vevo blocks out the most random shit in their videos. Go watch Santeria by Sublime.
Copyrights are completely ridiculous too, considering that the content isn't being used for profit. If it's outright the entire content then i can understand the problems but using small sound clips should be alright.
Vevo's version of Santeria by Sublime Broke automerge.
Welcome to the internet.
The larger the community of something is, the more assholes and idiots there will be. Like CS:S.
Well in CSS you can have friends on private servers. Theres no "private youtube". You'll always have to face the incredibly stupid comments and such.
Guys, have you ever noticed people saying '____ used to be awesome, now it's shit'? Sure, there may have been something of a decline in quality, but it's still the same. Everyone's always complaining about how we used to have better music, we used to have better movies, we used to have better tv shows, we used to have better games. People make threads about this all the goddamn time, and everything's the same as it used to be, and it's going to stay this way. Now stop looking back through rose-tinted glasses.

I bet it's just because most facepunchers are teens that are starting to notice these things and don't like it. I'm that way really.
I actually really like YouTube. The people that comment on videos and it makes me feel really smart that I can out argue them almost no matter what. So I often go to YouTube to start a fight. IRL I can't win an argument for toffee
In google's defense about ads... how else are they going to make money? If google had no ads, where is their money going? They have to pay for servers and all that space fore youtube... Plus maintainence and employees, places for employees to work, so that's also, internet, food, electricity. If google was a bunch of volunteers. It would be REALLY REALLY BAD.
I remember 2007. The day i first joined youtube. Everyone there was nice of some reason and we had no copyright shit and people moaning about how much someone's video sucked cause of the music it had. Then comes 2008 when stuff changed. New design and then copyright started coming around. Then came google. Now that Google got control of youtube everyone changed. Assholes joined and then came the moaning. Same with 2009. Viacom, Google and copyright started killing youtube. Now its 2010. We now have asshats and drama queens. YouTube used to have a great community. Now its full of spam and people sharing there video saying WATCH IT AND CLICK THE LINK IN THE DESCRIPTION. What do you think of youtube now??
Yup. I agree. But Google fucked YouTube by letting WMG assream them, so now there's copyright shit all over the place. it's suffering from the same thing anything popular back in the eighties was, as soon as something is a popular media it is horribly overdone to the point where it's a melting pot for idiocy
Protip: Press f5, no youtube more ads.
It's partnership that ruined it for me, oh that guy has lots more views than this video. LETS PROMOTE IT EVEN MORE.
The thing is, there's an easy way to get around copyright infringement. Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use. Now if everyone knew that then there wouldn't be any idiotic Audioswap.
Wasn't it always full of assholes?
Vevo is whats wrong with Youtube. They're removing the actual artists channel do to a Terms of Use Violation. They are removing the artists channel due to a 'Terms of use Violation against the music THEY made. It's just so fucking retarded now, but theres no other alternative.
Only the copyright stuff is what it really annoying about youtube - and that isn't really youtube's fault, it's the people who are obsessed with copyright and ask for every little thing removed. Everything else I'm okay with. Ads don't bother me at all. I bet if Google hadn't come along, then it would have turned out much worse. Hosting a video sharing site costs a lot of money so they have to make money somehow. Since Google's so rich I'm sure they're doing it better than most people could. And complaining about the layout is as dumb as the complainers when Facebook changes. As for the like/dislike thing, I like it better that way. I found that there are some users who subscribe to anyone who makes a good video, and favourited any video they wanted to see again sometime. Subscribing replaces favouriting and favouriting replaced rating 5. If anyone were to ever rate anything it would either be 1 or 5 stars anyway, so the like/dislike is basically the same. And now that it keeps track of every video you like, I find that useful as I don't have to favourite hundreds of videos like other people do just so I can find it some other time. Favourites lists are for favourites.
YouTube removed a video I loved for "terms of use violation." :argh: Was the one where Gabe goes on the stage at E3 and goes "no" and moon walks off. I miss old YouTube. :h:
That happens when a user is suspended. ALL of their videos, even the non-infringing ones, are removed with that message. Bullshit, I know.
Don't forget VeVo >_<
I don't worry about comments because I'm more focused on actually watching the videos, ads are short so they don't bother THAT bad, but the video removal and audio removal is a pain in the ass.
I miss when I could use YouTube to watch TV series that were never going to appear in the UK on the TV or on DVD anyway.
Avatar fits. Yeah new youtube sucks.
It's like most things, they start off really awesome and then as they get more popular more and more assholes come in.
We don't go there anymore...
