I'd probably go out and buy some good clothes if I had enough money.

Currently I'm stuck with some bland khaki shorts, generic colored t-shirts (that seem to be made with working out in mind) and three pairs of jeans that hug me a little bit TOO close.

Hell, the only combination that actually looks good is my one pair of khaki pants and a navy blue T-shirt with a witty saying on the front and back.

In short, I WANT to look good, but I have neither the fashion sense (which can be fixed by going shopping with some of my friends) nor the money to actually go out and get good clothes.

well i'm from the uk, so more often than not (where i live anyway) its quite windy, so you wanna shield yourself from that with a hoodie

they're also really handy for lighting joints, deep hoods mean you can basically make a wind-free zone.

He raises a fair point, you shouldn't attack people because of how much they want to spend on clothing. My shoes cost more than my whole outfit when I first bought them, nowadays I tend to avoid buying trousers which are below £30, tshirts I don't care because it's mostly gig tshirts, jackets I won't spend less than £50 because I want something that'll really protect me, and shoes can be anywhere in between £40-85.
