What the fuck is up with today's fashion? [Picture heavy]

I notice a lot of '80s influence in style lately, and everywhere I go there's '80s music playing, or they're definitely bringing the sound back with "new" music. We had the '80s, the whole emo/gangster look didn't do anything for anyone in the 2000s. Let's just go back to normal clothes and stop pretending that funky clothing and other consumer products make us unique individuals.
You know what I hate? Jeans with buttoned zippers. It's terrible. I do NOT want to button my zipper.
It's just terrible. I recently went shopping and wanted to get new jeans, but all the good looking ones are buttoned, all bad ones have zippers. I mean, come on.

Those look pretty normal to me.
I bought a pair of shoes I thought looked pretty ugly at first, but they were so comfortable and cost me only 20€

I love buttoned zippers because the worst thing in the world is a zipper that is starting to get lose.
I get my pants at Old Navy. Sounds gay, but they're pretty comfortable. They're normal, not any of that tight, faded shit. I think you can also get them at department stores too. As for shoes, I don't have a problem finding shoes I like either. Just go online and you can find just about anything you want.

I'm not saying wearing a tshirt and a pair of jeans is wrong or something, just that hoodies in the summer do look weird, and if you want to make new friends at school, you'll have to atleast dress decently.

I just buy used jeans at a thrift store now, or jeans on sale at Wal-Mart. Best pair of jeans I ever got were a $7 pair on sale there. I can't be bothered sifting through the pre-ripped, pre-acid washed bullshit for $60 a pop just so I can think I'm cool by looking the way big corps and other people think I should look.

Pre-damaged pants usually don't last very long anyway, so why not just buy some used pants.

In the Netherlands, you guys have distinct winters and summers. I live in southern california, where the temperature goes from a low of 60 to a high of 90 throughout the year. Jackets hardly ever serve a purpose here, they're just something people wear for the hell of it.

Is that bad? I've been wearing some of the clothes described as being 'hipster' for a few years now. People on this site act as though people who wear these clothes are doing it to get on their nerves, I wear them because I think they fit my personality and look better than anything else.
Fashion is a personal preference OP, it's nothing we'll be able to help you out with. You have to decide what you like and what looks good on you. I don't see why you would think that we'd be able to help you.
