Cable release on sole of shoe, every time you step it takes a photo.
I might be able to get my hands on an old film SLR my parents never use. I swear if the officials will let me I'll try to take it on a cross-country race!

shoots in p, calls herself a "pro"
ego massively inflated with low quality editing
import canon rebel
Sony HVR-HD1000E £1k camcorder (which is just a shitty HC7 in a big case, lol 1/4")
and claims to be employed and uses selective desaturation etc.
enjoy
Oh god that's fucking awful.

Dai can you rename this thread 'An ode to "That guy"/Photography Snobs Megathread v1 - She doesn't use Lightroom!
I really find it a shame when people ruin their photos with massive watermarks.

Nothing wrong with the photo itself in my opinion. It's not really a "that guy" more just a bad water mark.
watermarks you say

He sure did some serious white balance and exposure correction in MS paint.
Also I swear you have posted this before or something.
was in the facebook thread
the 'tog has lots of facebookyness.
So today I went to a cruise night/car show in a really rich town. I come across some 400+ pound 14 year old in a pink polo shirt with a Nikon D300S. He spent his time taking horrible macro shots of the cars there. The camera was on full auto and the flash was always popped up, but instead of turning the flash off he would cover the flash with his hands and would complain that his photos "aren't bright enough". He kept telling his Dad that this camera he bought him was a piece of shit.
I bumped into this kid (literally) about an hour later. He turns around and says to me
"You fucking faggot, watch where you're going"
"Hey chill dude, I'm sorry"
"Yeah you better be sorry you poor ass bitch, you wearin' fuckin' New Balance shoes and a fuckin' shitty ass T-shirt, and you got a faggy ass Olympus camera"
"And what exactly is wrong with New Balance shoes, or no name T-shirts, or Olympus cameras?"
"They're gay"
Luckily his Dad overheard him and smacked him on the back of his head. I walked away listening to the kid screaming at his Dad, saying he hates him.
I feel bad for the kid's dad.
"boy you been drinking old milk?"
"What? No"
"weird, you reek of 'spoiled' "
came across an old mock article from the legendary man behind the 7-legged spider.
Professional photography tips with Thomas, who has a digital camera and a wide aperature.
Hello, my name is Thomas and I am a professional photographer because I bought a digital camera.[/release]
[release]TIP 1 How to become a professional photographer
Buy a digital camera.
TIP 2 Tricks of the trade
Have a look on the camera, somewhere, probably on the top or back or somewhere on the front or sides there will be a button or dial marked 'A', this does not stand for 'Automatic' as some amateurs think but 'Awesome'. Leave it on this all the time.
TIP 3 Photography courses
There is no need for even a basic photography course because once you buy a digital camera you will be a professional photographer like me. Not as good as me though.
TIP 4 Lighting
You will need some light otherwise the photos will come out a bit too dark. Usually you can fix them in photoshop but some light to begin with is good.
TIP 5 Subject Matter
Yes, it does. Dont take photos of girls leaving the high school from your car as the fine is $360.00 and a years probation.

Oh boy the girl with the Nikon D3000 is back but this time she decided to get a Fisheye 2.
Here's and image she took of it on facebook:

Notice the photoshoped DOF.
I was talking with her and she used up her last exposure. She proceeds to open up the back and pull out all the film without rewinding it, to which I scream "Stop! You have to rewind it!". She say's "No, No it's okay". I told her "No it's not okay, you've just ruined the film"
"How did I ruin the film?"
"How's the film supposed to know if the light hitting it is from the camera lens?"
"I unno, does this mean my other rolls are ruined?"
"How many other rolls did you shoot"
"7"
She's a good friend, but I wish she would at least try to improve a bit. I give her criticism and show her how to use what she calls big scary things (like the manual mode, or aperture priority) but she continues using full auto saying "it's sooo much easier". I tell her that that's not the point but she ignores me.
Sympathy heart. Trying to deal with people who don't want help (or rather, don't want to learn) is tough.
You could always let her figure it out on her own.
Either she'll be interested in improving, or she won't.
Okay I know this asian girl on facebook, she was adopted from korea and has pretty rich parents, I'm no photographer so I'm just wondering isf she qualifies as 'that girl' apperently she has went to a couple samps/classes in new york for photography.
Here are some of her shoots, keep in mind she's still in highschool.

Looking at those pictures without any kind of information about the photographer is making me lean towards not that guy. 'That guy' is based on attitude.
You can be a shit photographer or you can be extremely talented, it doesn't matter. The problem lies in how you conduct yourself. Narcissism and huge egos are usually solid symptoms. [sp]Although it is funnier when they are shitty.[/sp]
Rich parents and having gear handed to you doesn't automatically make you a 'that guy'. Again, it's all in the attitude. A rich kid with every thing he could ever want photographically is not 'that guy' until he starts bragging, putting down others, bases competence purely on gear, or just general ass-hole behavior is exhibited. A rich kid who has all the gear he could ever want, but acts just as reasonable as anyone else ("poor people" are not automatically exempt from 'that guy' either.) is just doing what's natural - taking full advantage of his opportunities.
/pui
I think those photos are quite nice.
If they're bragging about all their equipment they have, they bought it themselves, and they take solid photos with it that show good composition, I definitely wouldn't call them a "that guy" or "that girl", just arrogant. I think the definition comes from the expectation that spending more money will improve their photography as a whole.
hung out with SC on saturday, he's getting MUCH worse in his douchetographer attitude factor, it's almost to the point of acting condescending in the presence of another camera.
also, I had to correct him on this. Can anyone tell what's wrong with his setup?
[t]http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/321382_10150265747047124_740827123_7577025_7688081_n.jpg[/t]
[sp]he has the big studio flash between the model and the sun, just adding MORE harsh light to the subject.[/sp]
I corrected him on this and the rest of his shots that day were with the light actually lighting shadows.
However, he spent almost all of his time doing anything with a flash- shooting with auto TTL metering by the way, both with his pocket wizard setup and attached to his camera- talking about calculating and compensating for the inverse square law and how that has helped him so much in getting better pictures.
I spent most of my time taking pictures of him taking pictures of himself wearing his rainbow dash hoodie.

I'll put this up for debate: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001667011893 Look at the senior portrait albums for the worst examples
He likes to show up to high school volleyball games and track meets with his monopod and gigantic white Canon telephoto, and pesters people about taking senior pictures. Most of his sports photos are blurry and overexposed, which kind of makes me think he might shoot on Sports mode. I also think he might have a slight crush on one of the players...
I've definitely seen worse, but it's still very far from inspiring.
