I made that squished face from your older avatar when I saw the second picture
I think it's a tonemapped b/w, the only real eyerape clarity ever creates is when you turn it to -%100
Looks like a high pass filter to me
Not exactly "that guy", but it's still really awful and the artist and followers hold this "photo" highly.

How does this even get on 1x?

I bet it's 90% because it's biblical references and lots of churchy types eat that stuff up like there's no tomorrow.
This year in school we have a ridiculous amount of freshman which includes a shit ton of kids with their D3100 thinking that they're the shit. Luckily we have a really cool new teacher who's starting a second photo club in the building, except this one will be film based. Salvation!
I've watched this girl evolve from being a myspace-photo taker attention seeker who has the 'business' "Kim's Photo Editing" to a 'model' who does lots of stuff with fake blood and looks like something out of an 80's punk band, to a photographer who absolutely needs a D3 to go do club gigs

finally someone who can talk real numbers, not "D3 is shiny but D700 is half the price do the math!" like the D700 is pocket change and worth upgrading when you're a 20 year old scenester girl who goes to nightclubs now and then

Please, no more Dai. At least give us time to re-adjust since we just lost most of our brain cells. :(
That reminds me of one of my friends. She had graduated from High School and wanted to take a photo class in college, so she asked me to recommend some cameras for her to get with a $700 budget. I showed her all DSLRs from Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Pentax that fit the bill. She refused to get any of them and decided not to take the class because the cameras were labeled as entry level or amateur and not ~pro~. I tried to show her it's not the camera that matters by showing her a shitty picture taken with a Leica S2 ($30,000) and a beautiful picture taken with a Canon Rebel XS/1000d ($550). She admitted that the picture taken with the Canon was way better than the one taken with the S2, but when I told her what cameras took what, and their price, she suddenly changed her mind and said the picture from the S2 was way better because it was ~pro~. I even tried telling her to get a used ~pro~ DSLR, but now she decided it had to be ~pro~ and new.

How do start photograpy?
I mean, a decent camera is quite big right?
Wouldn't it get stolen if you're walking around looking to take pictures of stuff?

Only if you walk around in a bad neighbourhood, I guess.
What's your budget?

I can't really say I'd do anything than take black and white shots of my shoes.
I'm just asking do you just carry a camera around constantly or do you identify a location first then get your camera?
