In their minds "all cc is wrong, every photographer that doesn't like my photos are just jealous of my work because all my friends say i'm the best ever"
sad thing is he's actually got a few interesting items, it's just the terrible way he presents himself
At least it's better than presenting himself oh so professionally and having absolutely shite work.
At least it's better than presenting himself oh so professionally and having absolutely shite work.
draw in a crowd and disappoint them, or give people the impression you're a high school girl and no one discovers you actually take OK pictures.
So, back to that girl with a "~passion~" for photography
speaking of,
ugh. I do 3D pre-visualization for architects and junk. The current client of mine, who works with lots of chain restaurants, always, ALWAYS hires a 'professional' to go to a location, often nearby me, and pays them a fuckton of money for a set of shots to use as references for our 3D modeling on new projects. 99% of the time, pictures are worthless/unusable and I have to do lots of guesswork to figure out dimensions of things, google up images of things like drink machines because they snapped a picture of the one in the store from across the building and I can't do anything with it, etc. I have to rely mostly on "well that kinda looks like this" trial and error. I've picked up a habit of checking the exif data of stuff, and there are two types of cameras these paid professionals use for reference: 1: a kodak easy share from five years ago 2: Canon 1Ds MkII with an ungodly lens but pinching light at f/22 like no one's god damn business I think this is the first time they sent someone out armed with both. The location is barely 30 minutes away from here and I keep telling them I'm more than humanly capable of taking a picture, PLUS I actually know what things I need pictures of and how to capture them effectively for modeling reference that CLIENT [editline]d[/editline] bonus content, the exif of the eos picture contains the guy's website. This site looks circa 1997, but was updated barely 2 weeks ago. ~ http://proshooter.com/ ~
"This posting has been flagged for removal. [?] (The title on the listings page will be removed in just a few minutes.)"
he was advertising his service for filming video, using film but scannable to sizes for formats suitable for digital CG effects in movies like transformers. He then goes into detail about how he's not very practiced in filming and such so he may very well ruin an entire reel of film now and again (~30 seconds worth of footage, but still) so he asks you be kind and forgiving with him ACT NOW!!
my old breakdancer client wanted me to help him with a personal video project. I didn't want to, and after the terrible dropping-him-like-a-rock incident, he's gotten the hint. However, he tagged me in a post recently- one of the first comments, stereotypical gold
I'm a Nikon boy but I'd easily say Canon has the edge on video by far.
I think the "you should get a rebel" bit is the problem. I actually responded about how it's actually the 5D mkII that's the "professional" norm, with the 7D coming in second for higher end hobbyists and low budget indie film makers and such.
Here's more from my series "Tasteless Kansas Photographers" Technically, his pictures aren't bad, but his posing sucks and his post-processing is pretty over the top (he loves his Photoshop blur). Also he loves to show off his gigantic L lens at junior high basketball games.
MAN LARGER SOFTBOXES ARE ALL WE NEED
I have trouble with these guys. This guy relies solely on his 50mm at f/1.8. All the time. When I met him in a photo pit during an event, he was semi-bragging about his 50mm being a beast at f/1.2 when he clearly had the miniature plastic f/1.8 version. I mean, why bother lying about something so trivial. Then there's this other guy. Recently upgraded from a 450D to a 60D and claims that "now the real photography can begin". Also, watermarks everywhere.
don't link directly to their facebook, we don't want to encourage that sort of shit
it doesn't really matter, just play nice.
i rely on my 50mm pretty much all the time. then my 16mm when i feel like having a light camera and autofocusing, my 55mm when i'm doing something really serious, and my 35mm when i mess around. i have a lot of zoom lenses but i'll be damned if i ever use a single one of them.
