The hardworking photographer doesn't want his work undercut simply because anyone can take pictures and claim it is "art". I don't photography needs to be elitist, but I can understand why people feel the need to be that way.

What is his day job? I mean about how much money does he make? It's a little less annoying if he's really rich, because then he's used to wasting money so this is no different than anything else he buys.

I have a friend who's mother gives him $20 a day free and clear to spend as he pleases. He spends all of it on cigarettes and gas so he can drive back and forth to the mall to 'pick up chicks'. He doesn't have a job, and won't even consider going to school, he's 19. That's $600 a month for being useless. The kicker is that he is [i]always[/i] complaining about how he has 'no money' to do things like photography or cycling, and says it in a condescending tone, like I'm spoiled and rich or something. He's been like that to our collective group of friends ever since he dropped out of highschool and started hanging out with other mall-rat types. Quite sad, really.

Ugh, people that spend money uselessly and then complain they have no money infuriate me. It's ok if the guy spends money on what he loves and then complains, but just spending money for the sake of spending it and then whining about it is so disrespectful to people that actually don't have any money.

I have two that guy offshoots on my facebook. They're always talking about their new camera and equipment and lenses they buy, littering facebook with it - the difference is that they're actually quite good at photography. They started a 'brotography' facebook page for the two of them and there are some good photos on there, and they're uploading them at the speed of light too. All of that's fine and the photos are really nice. Why does it annoy me? Because they're jerking themselves off about it. They told everyone to sit back and 'experience the awesome' of their photos and their wall is already full of shit about how great they are. Its the kind of lack of humility - "We know we're good at photography and fuck, while we upload our photos we're going to tell everyone how fucking awesome we are". Noones bothered giving them CC yet so I don't know how they react - they probably wouldn't mind. It's just one of those 'that guy' things that you can find in every sphere of life - the masturbators who know they're good and won't fucking shut up about it. The photos are good enough to speak for themselves, they don't need to leave semen dripping off the edges.

oh my god how could I forget my TG, he's the supreme TG he's doing a fashion photography course he must be in 3rd year by now, he loves his work and is always asking people to come model for him, but my god are his pictures bad and he's just completely illiterate with a camera (and just generally) 'i am the best man with a medium format lense in fashion and editorial & advertising, and loves living in Cardiff off to new york soon so vogue had better watch out ' 'Im ***** many describe me as the 80s kid i take picture of everything and anything got a camera got a girlfriend very creative thats all you need to no bit in more detail my intersts are : i love fashion art makeup runways and vogue i love agnes dyen, at the atrium studying fastion media i met some gorgous ladies and found the my bigest hero is steve the photo tech he intraduced me 2 medium format i run 3 companies in the fashion industry .'
