Oh, it most definitely is. Part of being an artist is being able to accept criticism, constructive or otherwise. It's unfortunate for her, though.
If someone posted critique on my Facebook for my images I would be absolutely ecstatic. Instead all I get is the typical "your sooo good" etc
It's great to hear that, and even better when it's coming from someone who knows what they are talking about. But I would so much rather have someone point out flaws, rather praise the image.
On my images I get a couple likes and that's about it. Never actually comments, I don't think I've ever gotten criticism outside of people on this forum.

I absolutely hate when people try and attack criticism by using the credentials excuse. Just because someone doesn't have the skill or gear to reproduce Citizen Kane doesn't mean they aren't allowed to critique movies.
It's the same for ABSOLUTELY everything. Pisses me off to no end when people say things like that. A critic bases their critique off of other works and personal experience not the amount of art schools they've been to.

It was all LR4 would let me do unfortunately. It's surprisingly hard to make awful pictures with Lightroom and I'm disappointed. 0/10 would not vignette again.

If there is one thing that I simply can not take, it is the everlasting circlejerking going on on Flickr. There's obviously an unspoken agreement, that if you comment positively/favourite a photo, you get the favor back. It's extremely destructive and very immoral.
