We're certainly quite honest with our criticism. Quite frankly that means if you deserve to get ripped apart, you will. But we don't have bad intentions and you shouldn't be afraid. It's one of the best ways to learn.
I know some but here I am with my shitty little phone still taking photos. Limiting yes but the only limit is yourself.
Take photos with whatever you have, regardless if it's your phone or a point and shoot
I went to an anime convention and a "friend's" camera was "stuck" in someone else's locker and I was pretty disappointed but fuck it, the best camera you have is the one on you and no camera was left home. It better not happen again this year.
Fucking hell I need my own DSLR, probably won't get it until this summer (family trip of course).
I'm probably "that guy". Ive been into photography for a year and i still dont know shit about cameras (Brands, models and all that) and i always get confused when i speak to another photographer.
Bringing this thread back from the dead
a kid who's harassed me for 3 years readded me recently and sent me this

i instantly thought of this thread :v:
Swag reflex yolo amour
Jamapel swaggie
avec son reflex et avec son moustache
"je suis trop swag"
I must applaud this man for having some pretty damn deadpan humour.
okay so, i accidentally found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uwMwD_vaNc
and was going to post it here on account of the comments that go with it (comments by the poster of the video, in particular)
however, after looking at his personal website (it's in the video's desription), this goes way, waaaaay deeper than what this thread is designed for
[editline]4th July 2013[/editline]
i'm still kind of sitting here in slight shock, someone else please look at it too so i'm not alone suffering this experience
[editline]4th July 2013[/editline]

I am in shock.
:suicide:
What on earth is this
His website is a suffering to read and he apparently blames YouTube and Reddit for all of his troubles (not the fact that he apparently wants to "up his game" by releasing 2-3 videos per day.)

he's a freaking cunt
Met a 4th semester photography student at a party, Mark II, battery grip, you name it.
"Cool gear, so what do you process your raw files with?"
"What is raw?"
as per offtopic thread's suggestion, bumping. Post 'em if you got 'em. Have this mosaic of the ancient king of selfies composed of 600+ photos literally only from this last weekend

he has three playlists dedicated to flirting videos, the first is full to 200 so I'm going to assume they're all full
good thing he watermarked it someone else might steal his amazing work
Jeeze, with so many photos I feel like we're in the distant background somewhere
I know a guy who shoots with flash on pretty high power constantly, like even outdoors in sunlight
Asked him why and he said something along the lines of "Well of course I do, you're dumb if you don't, how else are you supposed to get light the shadows?!"
decided not to pursue the matter any further
I know a guy who shoots with flash on pretty high power constantly, like even outdoors in sunlight

That's actually a common technique called fill flash.
That's actually a common technique called fill flash.
Yeah but he does it constantly, in every single shot he takes
fair enough if its his style but he shouldn't be so rude about it
That's actually a common technique called fill flash.
depends on who's using it. I remember being at a photoshoot where the selfie lord was using an alienbees 1600 model, no umbrella/diffuser, pointed directly at the subject, from the same angle as the sun, full power. Doing it that way DOES allows for you to darken the background, but I'm not sure he was aware of much outside of "I've seen pros set up this way". the highlight/shadow contrast was unbearable
Was at a concert yesterday, and I spotted at least 3-4 photographers with bucket hats, 200mm and that stupid photo/safari jacket. I mean, come on, it's not like you're carrying a plethora of film-rolls like in the old days, when you're using a D4. Also, people using flash at concerts, should have to be put down.

When I shot Rick Ross it was like a proper concert photo gig thing, as in we weren't allowed in the photo pit until about 15 seconds before he came on stage, and it was the usual 3 songs only rule so we all got kicked out as soon as the 3rd track finished.
Anyway, there were 2-3 photographers there like you mentioned, wearing bandanas or bucket hats, with 2 full frame's hanging off each shoulder, photo vests with lens holsters and stuff, they looked a bit silly
While we were waiting to be let into the pit they were standing together in a small group pointing at the other photographers and talking about us to eachother, was weird
This was a jazz gig/festival though.. Going back tonight, gonna count how many 70-200mm I see.

I read that as "jizz gag festival"
