libertarian party has liberty in it therefore it is freedom who r u to disagree?
Free health care killed my parents and enslaved everyone to work in a slave labor camp after we let it into our country. Edit: It also kicked my dog and was a total dick even though it was my birthday.
LOL free healthcare FTL
Heh yeah because if poor people get cancer it's their own fault for being poor and having cancer
Join the Social Democrats instead.
No join the National socialists.
It's failed everywhere it was tried. It makes everyone pay higher taxes. It lowers the quality of healthcare. It makes longer waiting lines. It eliminates people's ability to choose their own healthcare plans and their own doctors. It means lesser healthcare for the elderly. It makes things even easier on people who don't work and skim off government. There is absolutely no desire for anyone to be a doctor. Oh and don't forget that ever since England adopted universal healthcare, patient deaths due to doctor negligence have risen nearly 80% more than they were before. This is America, if you need a surgery, you get a job and you work for a living like a normal person, don't skim off government programs that let you sit on your ass for 5 years, or wait, even more years now, since they extended unemployment. For every one person who is legitimately bad off and incapable of rational thought and/or working, there are a thousand people who abuse the system for their own personal gain and take money off of social security. Plus it's not like people don't all get healthcare when they need it, liberal propaganda has people believing that if you go into an emergency room you won't get treated simply because you're not "super rich" which is a complete and utter lie. They are required to treat you, it doesn't matter how much money you have. Why should the government decide what healthcare I get? Why should the government decide who my doctor is? It shouldn't, but that's what people want. People are getting lazy and stupid, they want the government to do everything for them, since they're too lazy to actually get off their ass and do something like they're supposed to. If anyone remembers during the 2008 election, reporters were asking random people off the street why they were voting for who they were voting for, and the number one answer for people who voted for Obama (a Democrat), was that he would "take care of them" and "pay off their debt for them" because they were too fucking stupid to pay off their own debt, in fact, they were stupid enough to get in debt to begin with by purchasing things they don't need on credit.
It seems to work fine in Canada. I don't mind the taxes and Im not rich at all. If americans are not willing to pay taxes to fund their country I guess they just don't really care for the soil they live on much at all.
Heh yeah because if poor people get cancer it's their own fault for being poor and having cancer
Cancer is a fake disease engineered by the Soviet Socialists to institute socialist healthcare in America and further the socialist communist agenda. If you are dying, it is because God wants you to die. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] What's the point of "joining" a party anyways? Are you literally signing up on the party's registry? I mean, OK I just joined the Nazi Party right now. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Now I joined the Communist Party. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Now I joined the Green Party.
What's the point of "joining" a party anyways? Are you literally signing up on the party's registry?
You get a card and a bi-monthly packet!
Only in self-defense when a few people rated me dumb or disagree with the American way of life.
Because not agreeing with the American way of life is soooooooooooooo retarded it's fucking crazy, right?
As I said before, doctors HAVE to help you if you're in the emergency room bleeding to death (example).
That's true but if you have a heart attack on the curb outside the emergency room with no ID on you they might loose their job if they help you. Awesome.
OP is a selfish asshole.
Haha, you so silly OP.
wtf how did all these communists get into america???????
politics are a waste of time.
politics are a waste of time.
anarky 4 lyfe
Most Americans seem so fucking afraid of all types of Socialism, that you refuse to see how well it has worked in several countries, like the ones in Scandinavia. And you still think that liberalism and the democrats are left-wing.
I strongly disagree
You seem pretty libertarian yourself You do know that libertarianism does not just encompass the small-government laissez-faireism of the Libertarian party, right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-libertarianism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertarian_socialism
Libertarianism is a political philosophy which upholds individual liberty, especially freedom of expression and action.
If that's not part of your political philosophy I've seriously misinterpreted previous posts of yours.
Scandinavia is not socialist. They are just very left wing democracies, often called social democracies. [editline]5th April 2011[/editline] Those both seem more like anarcho-communism more than simply left leaning libertarianism
Yes but it is still a form of socialism. At least they were. What with the social democratic parties being members of Socialist International and all.
Yes but it is still a form of socialism. At least they were.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism
Socialism is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources.
Nope. The means of production in Scandinavian societies are still highly privatized.
you seem to think all libertarians are christian. I'm atheist and libertarian, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
what gave you that impression?
Those both seem more like anarcho-communism more than simply left leaning libertarianism
Some left-libertarians and libertarian socialists are, like Noam Chomsky, but you don't have to be
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism Nope. The means of production in Scandinavian societies are still highly privatized.
Yea but while they reject the Socialist economic system they hold many other socialist ideals, as well as supporting some forms of Socialism and singing the Internationale on 1 May, the worker's day. Also I'm talking about Sweden's social democratic party right now.
Yea but while they reject the Socialist economic system they hold many other socialist ideals, as well as supporting some forms of Socialism and singing the Internationale on 1 May, the worker's day. That's like saying the United States is communist because they have a Marxist party. And even then the Social Democratic party still isn't technically socialist.
There are plenty of Americans that know about politics in other countries, however the amount usually differs based on where you are. To act like we're all dumb rednecks is just ridiculous. I don't know where you live where the second you start learning about other world views, everyone talks about crazy liberals. You either live in the most Conservative state/city/area in the entire US, or are just exaggerating. [editline]4th April 2011[/editline] People aren't disagreeing with that principle, they're disagreeing with the specific things you're saying you believe in, such as your thoughts on healthcare and the role of government. [editline]4th April 2011[/editline] I personally believe that the government has a larger role to play than simply defending the citizen's rights, however that is integral to any decent government.
They didn't disagree with that post though, they disagreed with the other post I made prior to the health care one in which I said that I was joining the Libertarian Party.
You're speaking about one party in one region as if it were the entire region. That's like saying the United States is communist because they have a Marxist party. And even then the Social Democratic party still isn't technically socialist.
Perhaps not, but Olof Palme was the leader of the Social Democrats and prime minister of Sweden during 2 periods in the 70's and 80's, and he held many socialist views.
As leader of a new generation of Swedish Social Democrats, Olof Palme was often described as a "revolutionary reformist". Domestically, his socialist views – especially the Social Democrat drive to expand Labour Union influence over business – engendered a great deal of hostility from more conservatively inclined Swedes.
You are right in that the Social Democrats are not socialist now, but they kind of were before.
Scandinavia is not socialist. They are just very left wing democracies, often called social democracies.
It's a gray area, it's not whether a state is completely socialist or not socialist at all. States can adopt socialist ideas and notions while simultaneously keeping liberal or conservative values without any conflict. So, social democracy is partly socialist, and partly liberal.
Except noone does that because the black man is a paying customer, and racism = bad reputation = decreased profit. And that black man will just pay for a room at another hotel. Congrats racist hotel, your competitors made profit you could've made.
Yea no. People will go to a hotel if they know its black free because they would believe it to be safer and cleaner.
Libertarian's are just going to put the U.S. in more debt.
