The Giant Bomb Thread V2: It's a website! About video games!

Man, I was surprised Brad didn't try any of his bullshit trying to rig the awards like his insane means of getting Destiny in last year. Then Day 5 came around and he got into full gear. "I think everyone here agrees" when half the table disagrees with him. Great stuff.
Dan's Mario Maker level naming convention is literally the greatest of mankind's accomplishments.
The Armageddan is over.
[sp]Patrick has lost the war. Dan's reign of terror was successful.

I've always enjoyed Giant Bomb content when it was showed to me by either friends or LMAO Pics, and I just got caught up on SleepyCast and the SuperBestFriendCast. Is the BombCast any good and how much can I enjoy each podcast as an individual piece of entertainment (specifically regarding concerns of the entertainment being too "dated" if I listen to the first couple podcasts)?

The Bombcast does a lot of discussing the current games, so it can be a bit dull if you're listening to old ones. It is interesting to hear them talk about classics when they came out, but there is a lot that will just seem dull. You can always skip the first third of the old ones though and listen to just news and emails.
Typically, I just listen to them weekly. If I miss out on an amazing moment by not getting to it that week, usually someone somewhere makes sure that it is archived as its own thing.

The early bombcasts were the best, all the ones before Patrick were really fun to listen to and still are. News might be interesting but the emails were always the best.

The BombCast is pretty good. The weekly discussion on the news can get boring if you don't like the subject (someone does timestamps on the comments in the website so you can skip around) but the emails are great, because you can hear stuff like Jeff calling Dan's opinions complete bullshit:

Excellent, thanks folks.
xpantherx/Derek Stone/TurboMan of Best of Giant Bomb fame is going to start putting them onto Giant Bomb directly!
We stopped because someone was already doing it better. We’ve all watched Derek Stone’s Best of Giant Bomb series on YouTube. You might know him as TurboMan here on the site. The series is great and has been around since the beginning of time. We contacted Derek, he completed the Trials of Onboarding, and he can know officially make content for us.
We are extremely pleased to be hosting his Best of Giant Bomb series. They are a great way to catch up on anything you might have missed or to relive some our more bizarre moments. We’ll be archiving the previous episodes to the site over time, but for now you can watch them here.
He's been doing it for years, glad to see he is finally getting put up on the main page.
Those videos are part of the reason I subscribed to GB. Their free content is great, but I was missing out on so much premium goodies.

UPF alone is worth my sub, I swear. Something about just 2 hours of dicking around every week is great.
Gb hosting the videos, instead of copyright claiming them is probably the most legit move they've every pulled. Those videos are the best advert for their site, and they are what ade me become a premium member a few years ago.
Same here: it was a mix of that and Mario Party Party.
It's been a while since there was a post in here, but Austin is leaving! After just a year! As much as I disliked how preachy he could be, he was the most like me. Dude loves mechs, anime, and a bunch of other weird shit that nobody else did.
i guess that's the end of jrpg's, strategy games, and anime on giantbomb.
Austin was a great addition to the team. Sad to see him leave.
Austin is leaving to go run Vice's new gaming website. I don't blame him for leaving since it's such a great opportunity but I'll definitely miss him on the Beastcast.

I'm always changing my mind on him, but I've really enjoyed him this past week over the E3 coverage. Wonder what GBeast is gonna do
That was quick! Sad to see him go, he balanced out Dan for having sensible opinions.
At least there is an opening now! Time to throw an application at them and not get the job :v:

Lorne Lanning is always a great guest
Midway segment (Adam/Dave/Johnny) was beautiful this year. Auto-correct is a beautiful thing.

That's a hell of look for Dan. That'd be kinda neat for him to follow through with something like that.
EDIT:
Fuck me, that's actually him. I swore to god it was a 'shop. I knew about his eye thingy, but holy christ.
