Anyone else hate the 1950-2000? - General

The 50's were great. The 60's were great. The 70's were great The 80's were great The 90's were great. 2000 and onward is okay.

In my lifetime the good years were: 1992 1993 1994 1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2008 2010 (so far)

Alright, I have one here. IF in-fact you were to be born in the 1700s you would probably die before you were 20, or as you were born, or right then thereafter. SO you SHOULD have been born in the 1700s.

The last century was probably the best mankind's ever seen.

1950s = Good Early 1960s = Good until Vietnam. Late 1960s to mid 1970s = Sucked. Cold War, Vietnam and Lennon and Hendrix dying. However, a few good things came. The beginning of the computer for instance Late 1970s = Okay 1980s = The transition period for America. Transitions of everything. Technology to Clothing to what Capitalism now means today. 1990s = Awesome. Everything was awesome in the 90s. Born in '92 and damn proud of it. 2000 = Still awesome. 2001 = Sucked only because of 9/11 2002-2004 = Was fine. To be honest, I don't remember much of those years... 2005 to now = Sucked. A few bright spots here and there, but nothing to be happy about.

But the War in Iraq and the Financial Breakdown? Pretty major suckage right there. Not including how much music's devolved into just making radio hits. Also, clothing is now about 'fitting in'. Hell, being goth is now just being 'cool' when it used to be a sign of anarchy and rebellion.

1950 is nothing like 2000. The world changed a lot in-between those years, so I don't even know how you can use all those years collectively.

No, because back then people as a whole actually had some moral values and valued life a whole lot more. Now everything is just going down the shitter faster than it was in their time. I would be shocked if there wasn't another massive near-global scale conflict in my lifetime. I'd be pleased, but entirely shocked.

I would rather live in the 50's than this year. People were smarter, didn't gave a fuck about how other people look. The world was better. Sure, technology wasn't the greatest but you actually had a life, back then.

Yes, people cared on how you looked back then, it was just the style. Just because all of the music was happy and dandy, doesn't mean that's how the world was in general.
