oh i thank god I don't have to share a bathroom with my roommate. He has his own, which, just like his bedroom, I don't dare glance into. And out of the two of us, I'm far more likely to be the one staying up until 2 am watching anime, I just also happen to have enough self-respect to care about the cleanliness of my environment.
Ok, can you read your post and gender flip it for a second? I'd be telling any girl to get a restraining order. She is toxic as hell, leave her blocked on everything, talk to your friends you like and see if maybe you can start hanging out with them without her. I would 100% be staying out of contact with her because she is clearly trying to fuck with your head here dude. The best thing you can do is not get in contact with her personally. And talk to your friends there's a fair chance based on other behaviours she starts trying to make up shit about you to other people
I'll make sure to stay out of contact. With time I'm sure I'll be able to get over this. I'll talk to my friends, C suggested that tooI hope this doesn't get worse, but if it does, how can I know if it becomes harassment or something along those lines?
i got a really dumb and petty teenager problem basically, my friend has a small tattoo behind her ear that she got over the summer. when she got it, i acted like a dickhead and said "that's gonna be on your head forever", but she told our friend that i said stuff like "do you understand the consequences of doing that", "thats a terrible decision", etc. I have actual screenshots of what I said over text that I sent to her to prove I didn't, and she said I was acting like a jerk for going to the trouble of finding the conversation (even tho i remembered what day it was) because it wasn't that big of a deal. i figure i should just drop it as long as she knows that i don't like when people say i did/said something i didnt
This is why you screen roommates or just straight up not move into a place if you've met the roommates and seen they look like messy cunts. If I were to ever room it up with someone, I'd try and nab someone who's working a professional 9-5 job, or working in a high maintenance degree like engineering. if they've got the energy and get up and go attitude to tackle an intensive degree, they're probs on top of their shit in other aspects of their life. that'd give me some peace of mind knowing they'd be sleeping at normal times, and would have a bit of drive and motivation, instead of sitting in their room all night watching anime and then sleeping all day and being a lazy pig. it's also a massive red flag if you go check out a potential place, and the person you're rooming it up with just seems incredibly awkward or socially retarded.
i got fucked over by mates who wanted to live in dorms instead of the luxury apartments because their lazy asses too lazy to walk 5 min to get food, so I had to take what I could get.
Tip for sharing homes make sure all parties contribute towards the bills even if it means slightly less rent. 9/10 will be mindful of energy if they have to pay for it. Odd exception is those that live off the bank of mom n dad which are few n far between, thankfully.
i'm the most frugal fucker ever. if I go away on holiday or know I won't be in my apartment for a solid amount of time, I turn everything off at the fusebox just so I don't have things sucking up electricity by mistake. case in point: my monthly gas and electric bill for a 2 bed apartment is £30 a month. has been since february. now that winter time is rolling around, I reckon it'll bump up to around £50 between november-jan. but yeah, compared to other 2 bed apartments, I'm using 41% less energy which feels good visiting family, my sisters trigger me so much. they'll leave the fuckin taps dribbling water, leave lights turned on, constantly leave the tv on (this one just drives me nuts) and if I yell at em and ask if I can turn it off, they'll yell back saying they're watching it despite having been in another room for the past 3 hours, and the tv room will still be empty for the next 3 hours. dumbest thing ever. if i had a housemate like this, i'd be locked up for life after committing homicide.
Today one of my housemates and I had what can only be described as Freshers plague, so we both cooked for each other, made each other hot drinks, the one who didn't cook washed up. I feel like crap but it was really nice. Recommend doing nice things for housemates unrequested if you find it works and they don't take the piss, makes life so much nicer.
I can literally only share a house with two people who aren't my immediate family and we plan on moving in together maybe summer of next year. Anyone else I would probably not be compatible with.
This is a completely sane and rational thing to do. But you might want to try and write down your argument first before hand and take your time in explaining your issues so that you don't mess it up Perhaps organise a schedule for cleaning?
Ionno, that seems harder than coming up with a reasonable alibi and getting the plastic tarp out.
my new roommate keeps eating my food and using my pots and pans then not washing them unfortunately I probably won't do anything about it because I'm spineless and let people walk all over me at will also I can't understand him through his accent My conflict mediation skills are absolute trash.
Update: He's now watching porn - on speaker- with his door open this guy is truly the worst guy of them all
Update: He's now watching porn - on speaker- with his door open this guy is truly the worst guy of them all
Seriously, just go talk to him and say that you guys need to set up some ground rules.
Update: He's now watching porn - on speaker- with his door open this guy is truly the worst guy of them all
Videotape it and send to the landlord to get him evicted. It's not a cultural barrier thing, the guy is just a disrespectful asshole. [editline]4th October 2017[/editline] Only 2 more months until I will move to my own place and leave my neighbor and our toxic relationship behind for good! I wish I had a goddamn time machine.
I moved into new house a month ago. Used to live 45 km outside of city in my own house but now renting one room in city for literally half the price of previous rent cost (was 1200 + 250 bills, now 650 bills included). Two other guys in house - one lives in sisters house but comes to take shower and sleep maybe once every two weeks so in reality there is two of us. It's a 3 floor house so we rarely bump into each other, guy is some full time football player (I am not into football so idk who he is). He sometimes has his sister/gf/ex/wife? (I dont fucking know) with 3 kids over but they are always downstairs in living room watching TV all. I got my own microwave, 50 inch plasma TV, boiling kettle and I just camp in my room 24/7 on PC and I am fine. Shower/Bathroom is shared but idc tbh, its a place I spend less than an 30 min total per day. One annoying habit that guy has is leaving clothes in washing machine for days/week after its done until his sister/gf/ex/wife decides to take them out and hang them so I spoke to him about it and proposed solution of having basket near washing machine so if mine or his stuff is done and is in it - we can put it into basket and use washing machine. Also I am lazy cunt, thats why I have my own microwave and water kettle because I cant be arsed to run down to kitchen ever time I want tea (like 8 cups per day).
I recently deleted my tinder and made a new account, put a picture of me smiling and a grouppicture, got 14 matches in 2 days Doing pretty alright I'd say

I'd say she already qualifies
Today I have my 2nd interview with a military contractor, I'd be doing optics research. The benefits are super nice, 3 weeks vacation, sick days, 401k, pension, and they pay for your gym, master's degree, dog walking, etc. I'm terrified and excited. I dropped 150 bucks on shoes, shirt, tie, and full suit and it all just looks so damn good. If I get this, it's my first "big boiiiiii" job right out of college. I remember coming here and asking if anyone would care about me being a BS or BA in computer science, and I came to the conclusion after being scouted out by these people it doesn't matter, you just need to be good at what you do. During the first interview I floored the tech lead when I answered his questions. The benefits and salary are icing on the cake, what I really want is to work with smart good people on hard problems. I've worked a tiny start up to a mega corporation with lots of internal politics. This job seems like the good in-between and with people who are relatively in my age group. Tldr: I just want a job where I can pay someone to take care of my dog and hopefully after today this will be the place.
i didn't get a job I applied for. really nailed the interview but apparently some piece of shit came in with more experience last minute and took the spot. now i'm depressed as fuck because it was basically my last possible opportunity in the foreseeable future.
Maybe it is in your ass backwards "civilised" nation :p
I'm actually really excited because I didn't use any vacation time this year, so I'm going to burn through all of my two weeks (plus 3 personal days) this month. But that's only from one of my jobs. Still doing the other two all month. No vacation time from them. Ever. :v:

Interview went well. Made them laugh at my jokes. I felt like I nailed it until the end when the guy said they're looking at other people as well, but they'll get back to me soon. Just don't leave me hanging fam. Might be a week or so before I hear back. Yeah 3 weeks might not seem like a lot. They have flex time as well where you work 35 hours one week then 45 the next. As far as contractors go in the area, I feel like these guys treat their employees a little better. I'm hoping I get it none the less. If I don't, it's not the end of the world because this is just my first time applying. I can go somewhere else. It's not a permanent kinda thing for me, this would just be my first job out of college, so I'm just looking to get more established.
May as well move to Ireland considering UK recently knee capped itself (brexit) :v:
You KNOW UK is going to fuck you lot over too. I can't even imagine the fucking nonsense you'll have to face trying to get into Europe proper. Or even just visiting the UK.
Ok so I'm a very patient and nice guy in general. Like, too nice to the point where people can question my motives. I have no problem standing up for my self but I have a tendency to let things go on just because I feel bad for other people or I have no problem sucking it up. At least this is the bullshit I've been telling myself but the post I commented on yesterday opened my eyes and today I had enough. The same neighbor I've been on about for half a year here came home at 0:00 and banged doors, talking loudly. They even screamed as part of some joke when they were outside the house. I was supposed to go to the gym 5:30 today but since they woke me up I didn't have the energy. This thing has happened well over 20 times by now so I sent a text "shut up and go to sleep". She looked at it this morning and when I was making breakfast she said sorry like she usually does. But this time my blood really started to boil. I told her that I piss on her meaningless excuses and I kid you not, her eyes was like saucers. She's a manipulative disrespectful bitch, the kind of person who can talk down or around just about anyone or anything but I caught her off guard and she didn't know what to say. She ran into her room like a little girl who just got scolded by her dad :v: Thank you random FP user for making me do this. Except for finding my current girlfriend and love, this is the best thing I've done this year!
