I don't know why everyone says Elfen Lied was sad. Just about everyone who died, with exception to the boss, deserved it.
It's not the people that died that made it sad. It was Lucy.
Bleach [sp]it never ended.[/sp]
I agree lol.
for me though hmm uh Cowboy Bebop for already mentioned reasons. Bad thing is most shows will end happy so it's hard to think of one.
As i said in my first post, I hated it when Makoto got slaughtered, he was brainwashed by Sekai.
[sp]Then for extra *Lulz* Disturbance, Kotonoha cuts his Fucking head off. What a joke, she's then seen lying with it at the end[/sp]
Gunbuster
pokemon when ash dies
its so sad
I guess Ash is Jesus, cause he keeps coming back to life; always got on my nerves when I was a kid.
I only remember Ash dying once.
Chobits.
I know this is saddest anime endings, but I just have to say that the manga ending to Elfen Lied is so much sadder than the anime ending.

This.
The anime made me well up a bit with a lump in my throat.
The manga made me cry,Just a little....little bit,which I don't normally do on mangas/anime...
The manga makes the anime look like it has a happy ending.
I thought that the ending of Dead Space: Downfall was a pretty sad.
[sp]Vincent and her entire crew die and the response team just pulls in.[/sp]

I can name three times right off the bat.
1. A chandelier crushed him.
2. Mewtwo and Mew killed him.
3. A tree killed him (somehow, lucario movie me thinks)
As said 2 other times, Evangelion.

Haven't seen any of the newer episodes so don't know about the last one. And I didn't really think he was dead when the chandelier crushed him, I just assumed that was a coma or something.
Evangelion.
It was just so bad :(
This.
Elfen lied.
[sp]Mariko finds her father but dies in an explosion with him, Kota discovers that the girl he always loved, Lucy, killed his parents when he was a kid, Lucy loses her both horns and loses her double personality, Nyu, the center's director is still alive and Kota gets back to a normal life to supposedly meet Lucy again[/sp]

It was pretty sad with the Bandou part tho
The Gantz manga had some extremely depressing moments, but it has not ended yet.

Are we talking about the anime or the manga right now ? Because in the anime [sp]Her body clearly implodes while her father is hugging her[/sp]
And yeah, Lucy's kinda depressing in the anime, but I didn't find Bandou sad or depressing in any way, just some secondary bad guy who gets pwned really earl in the anime (in the manga he's a bit better since he [sp]protects another character, losing his both legs[/sp]).

I meant the manga
wow from what i'm reading the anime is totally different
because i've never saw it and from i'm reading i might not watch it at all
The anime has been created while the manga wasn't finished, so there are a lot of differences.
Sadly a lot of elements from the mangas are forgotten in the anime (which is really short, only 14 episodes).
Full Metal Alchemist. The first series, at least.
Not counting it was the only anime I watched. And I thought "oh god animes are awesome, I should watch another one". My friends said: "why not Naruto?".
Started watching it. Since then, I've never watched any other animes.
The end of Death Note, TOTALLY. LIGHT!!! NOOO!!! :'(

Oh he was dead, I don't think the living go around with their spirits outside their bodies. Well, MOST living creatures.
The last one was a movie; I don't know which one but it was the one with lucario in it.
Just spoiler tag the whole thread
I thought tora dora had a sad ending.

Must see the entire thing for it to make sense though.
TO love-ru
For a second it was a sad ending, but it was more of a happy-sad ending.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Episode 11
if the series ended there
the manly tears would've been legit
