Chromosomes given to one at birth.
Okay then.
A. Chromsomes aren't given to you at birth.
B. What are we going to do with
[t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c0/Orchids01.JPG[/t]
These women then?
All of them were born biological women and all of them have XY chromosomes.
Yo Based, when is your video saying that homosexuals are insane coming out?

A. I say "at birth" to emphasis that changing chromosomes at age 23 with future technology doesn't magically change one's sex.
B. Fair enough. I suppose it's neither chromosomes or genitals but our total genetic makeup. Either way, transpeople do not have that genetic makeup.
A. I say "at birth" to emphasis that changing chromosomes at age 23 with future technology doesn't magically change one's sex.
Okay. So if we had a magical device that fully converted someones biology then would you still be doing this?
Wait what does that even mean?
Your chromosomes and your genetic make-up are the same thing????????
[editline]27th February 2016[/editline]
Defining whether or not someone is male or female based solely on physical characteristics is completely asinine no matter how you look at it.

If a device can completely rewrite somebody's biology, then a transwoman could become 100% true blue woman. I would call that person her with no qualms.
Can you give a source on the women with XY then? I assume it's some sort of genetic defect. This is what I could find by googling.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XY_gonadal_dysgenesis
So these are women that are born with useless ovaries?
This is where I got that "total genetic makeup" answer from. http://www.isna.org/faq/y_chromosome
"For these 15,000 or more individuals in the US (and who knows how many worldwide), their chromosomes are irrelevant. It is the total complement of their genes along with their life experiences (physical, mental, social) that makes them who they are (or any of us, for that matter). The last time I counted, there were at least 30 genes that have been found to have important roles in the development of sex in either humans or mice. Of these 30 or so genes 3 are located on the X chromosome, 1 on the Y chromosome and the rest are on other chromosomes, called autosomes (on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 19)."
Basically, it IS in the chromosomes, but not just the X and Y chromosomes.
Defining male or female based on physical characteristics makes just as much sense (if not more) than how somebody "feels". At least, physical characteristics are falsifiable. You can run all the tests you want to say that I am not transgender, but if I feel like I am, than I am. And everyone has to respect that and call me by my preferred pronouns unless they want to be labeled as a bigot. And I could be lying for the sheer hell of it or to get free drinks at ladies night or whatever. That doesn't matter because you can't prove my feelings wrong.
If it's based on sex, you can, for 99% of cases, just pull down my pants and check. Simple and elegant.

Again I'm forced to ask, what defines a true blue woman?

I was actually referring to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Androgen_insensitivity_syndrome

You are correct, however it is the X and Y chromosomes that determine which genes express themselves.

No not really. What about intersex people?
Do you actually have a point here?
Well yeah, people who refuse to call a transperson by their preferred pronouns are pretty bigoted.
What are you even trying to prove here?

So what about people who undergo SRS then?
Imagine if the same genetic makeups that determine your sex also wire your brain in a way that makes you feel like something is fundamentally flawed with you as a person. And it's not all how you grew up or were raised. Nature and nurture are both huge parts of development. It's not just "feels", though you can rest assured that there is plenty of scientific data in this field already.
"No, you don't understand. I have a PhD in Videogame Studies and I am a world renowned specialist on social issues because I post on 8chan, and here's how you're wrong:

That sums up the video more or less.
This kind of ad hominem isn't really fair. Them being ignorant bigots is enough of an insult. It's the same kind of stuff when I see"white male" thrown is as an adjective.
oh no what if you say you're a woman and we believe you and secretly you're not
and then nothing happens
wow why don't more people do this there's so much to be gained
I can't even wrap my head around his post.
I think the phrase
"Why do you care this much?" about sums things up
oh no what if you say you're a woman and we believe you and secretly you're not

Well, you can get free drinks! If that isn't a huge advantage in life, I don't know what is.
I wonder what Vidya would say about the actual measurable differences in brain structure transgender people have
Gotta go play some Street Fighter. I will catch you dudes later.

Way to take the bait guys.
Way to take the bait guys.
I doubt it was bait so much as it was genuine ignorance of the topic
"I can't actually refute what you're saying, but I'm trying to save face by saying that I have to leave and play video games"
To be fair, he addressed your point on his video.
Gotta go play some Street Fighter. I will catch you dudes later.
As if you're incapable of playing a video game and getting back to us whenever you want because this is the internet.
But hey, since we have your attention, do you mind explaining to me what you meant by "99% of the world doesn't care about gender"? If we have laws like Title IX, if rape is a problem for everyone, is domestic violence is a problem for everyone, if there are severe problems with treatment of everyone because of their gender or gender identity, how doesn't gender matter?

He didn't refute anything I said in any substantial way anywhere at all to my knowledge.
Why do people feel the need to label themselves as transgender
No one does, unless they are Special Tumblr peeps.
Why do people feel the need to label themselves as transgender
Why label yourself as gay or straight?
It's a term to describe an experience, one that a lot of people share. And since they have a term for shared experience, maybe they can start advocating for rights as well.
Okay Mr Vidya, lets play the guessing game (No reverse googling allowed, and if you so happen to be able to tell the difference by features alone, please tell us how)
Let's play Who is the Male! (If there even is Males in this)

I will explain my point once you pick who is the Male (assuming there is, no clue, randomly googled)
hey there dude
loved how you're just blatantly trying to piss off as many people as possible. can you give me tips?
No one does, unless they are Special Tumblr peeps.
Do people still think Tumblr has a hand in every single thing happening in the world.
Do people still think Tumblr has a hand in every single thing happening in the world.
Uh no, I was just saying Tumblr because I see it used there a lot.
Uh no, I was just saying Tumblr because I see it used there a lot.
"Tumblr uses a word, therefore the word is exclusively used by 'special snowflake Tumbrinas.'"
i don't label myself strait or gay
but i mean its not like anyone's gonna know unless you tell them or show them
Like, okay, that's completely up to you and I won't force you to identify as something. But I like identifying as bisexual, and I like the legal protections I have from discrimination because I experience my sexuality a certain way.
And, no, people are going to know, or even guess. That's why anti-discrimination laws always have something about "perceiving" in them. Furthermore, gaydar is actually a thing.
"Tumblr uses a word, therefore the word is exclusively used by 'special snowflake Tumbrinas.'"
What, I never said that or implied it.
I have only seen Tumblr label themselves as Transgender, not Male or Female.
If there were other places that I saw used it a lot besides tumblr, I would have said those sites.
What, I never said that or implied it.
Yeah you did.
I have only seen Tumblr label themselves as Transgender, not Male or Female.

Do you go to sites other than Tumblr? There's a whole thread here for people who identify as and freely say they are transgender.
Yeah you did.

By labeling, I assumed Forumshark meant by Gender, as in "My gender is Transgender"
Most people stick with "he" and "she" because that's what's easiest and people are lazy.
Pronouns exist purely for convenience in the first place. Complaining that you aren't told whether or not someone is trans by the pronouns they use is like complaining that you aren't told what their name is, or what they look like, or where they come from.
Putting in a bunch of stipulations and qualifiers for pronouns or coming up with a bunch of new ones just defeats the point of having them in the first place. You might as well just refer to everyone by name.
