Impassioned/emotional politics are bad. This is propaganda. Subject matter being wrong or right is irrelevant when presented like this.
Impassioned and emotional politics are Trump's entire fucking platform. Moreso than Hillary's. Moreso than this fucking video, the dramatic tone of which doesn't even come close to matching the hot air blown by Trump and his campaign, the only candidate in recent memory, and heck memory as a whole now that I think about it who's had the audacity to claim without evidence or fact that the electoral process is literally RIGGED against him. He is the embodiment of a demagogue. The 'feels before reals' candidate of the decade. Out of all the criticisms you could levy at this video, why is this the one?

It doesn't matter who is doing it, I think it's wrong. I see it as propaganda. I don't agree with emotions and fear-mongering as a way to persuade people. The reason that's the criticism I made is because it's the only one that was warranted. His points weren't untrue.
Can someone fill me in as to why people think Trump will be a dictator who will send illegal immigrants and anyone who disagrees with him to a labor camp? Like is that just rhetoric, or has the man actually said that before? I'm not voting for him because I don't like his policies, and honestly I don't like him as a person much, either. I'm just really confused as to why people are unironically saying that he would be a literal fucking fascist dictator. I mean, come on, I don't like him either, I think his presidency would be a complete shit show, but this feels like a little much.

Im even surprised he still capable of putting his adult diapers on in the morning , let alone be competent enough to over thrown an entire government. If elected, he would be the equivalent of caged monkey. Clinton is a different story. Unlike Trump, she has the unofficial power and backers needed to subvert the government.
I don't disagree with his message, but this video is 100% fearmongering.
10% of it was. There were two parts of it that stood out for being Infowars level of fearmonger, the last end about the daughter and the part where he talked about deporting mexicans by dragging them out of their homes.
10% of it was. There were two parts of it that stood out for being Infowars level of fearmonger, the last end about the daughter and the part where he talked about deporting mexicans by dragging them out of their homes.
mexicans are already deported by being dragged out of their homes. http://www.latintimes.com/ice-raids-2016-immigration-police-round-central-american-migrants-slated-deportation-362472 Trump wants to create a deportation force to do it as well. http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2015/11/11/trump-create-a-deportation-force.html?via=desktop&source=copyurl The difference between the two is that the ICE raids are supposedly only designed to target individuals who are a legitimate threat to the country whereas Trump's version, based on his other rhetoric, would presumably target all illegal immigrants with no consideration for circumstances or humane treatment. So we're down to 5%.

It just means appeal to emotion via fear.
I support Trump on the basis that we could impeach him and have Pence as president instead.
cringe
I support Trump on the basis that we could impeach him and have Pence as president instead.
So is it gay people, or women you hate more?
So is it gay people, or women you hate more?
This reply demonstrates why corruption and corporate power in America will never be taken out of politics. Identity over getting things done.
This reply demonstrates why corruption and corporate power in America will never be taken out of politics. Identity over getting things done.
Why? A trump pence ticket isn't going to eliminate corruption in American politics, and it'll be bad for gay people, women, minorities, etc. Why should I vote for someone who will just make literally everything worse?
This reply demonstrates why corruption and corporate power in America will never be taken out of politics.
How does wanting to reign in tyranny "Racist"?
huh??
I still want to know what exactly Trump is going to be impeached for. I've seen the idea pitched by 3 different posters now.
This reply demonstrates why corruption and corporate power in America will never be taken out of politics. He got quite mad in the follow-up after the debate. Seems reasonable to me... Wish there was more of a reaction similar to that.
How does wanting to reign in tyranny "Racist"?
You honestly seem more uninformed every time you post. Every time. How does that happen? Do you even know Pence's voting record? His stated views on homosexuality? His stated views on women? And you think that fucking bigoted dick is out to help anyone but the most christian of christians and the most gullible of his constituency?
"Burn in hell" Should I laugh or be shocked? I never thought too much about the severity of Trump not accepting the outcome.
It is hard to tell, but I believe the most fitting way to describe it is a warcall. A call to rebellion.
It's legitimately terrifying how deliberate it has been. The mention of '2nd amendment people' taking care of Clinton, the call for supporters to watch polls, the whining about the election being rigged, and this "suspense"... Probably the only time a plan has been described or executed by Trump.
"Burn in hell" Should I laugh or be shocked? I never thought too much about the severity of Trump not accepting the outcome.
Shock is a genuine feeling when a candidate is voicing something no one else has in the history of the Union. I actually looked it up, when Lincoln won in 1860 and the southern states almost immediately seceded, John Breckinridge, Lincolns Democratic rival for the presidency, begged the Democrats to stay in the union and work with Lincoln. He later fled to the South and worked in the military and later government of the CSA but the point is he at least conceded that he and his side lost. That Trump is seemingly unable to do this actually without precedent.

I'm just ready to bite the towel and deal with either candidate at this point. Trump is a megalomaniac and Clinton is a con artist. Hopefully we'll get better choices next time.

I define bigotry as any ideal that tries to institutionalize psychological and emotional abuse. I believe Christianity is structured to do such thing. Would you agree? Do you agree that Christianity as an ideal is structured to inflict psychological abuse on its adherents and is structured to encourage abuse other people who do not agree with its doctrine?
Would you agree? Also what the fuck does Christianity have to do with bigotry? Nice way to divert the argument [editline]21st October 2016[/editline]
Shock is a genuine feeling when a candidate is voicing something no one else has in the history of the Union. How many Americans even know of the importance of the events of 1860? For a folk that is so obsessed with their own history it seems not many know this. Then again this lack of insight happens everywhere... Of course that doesn't exclude the Netherlands.
No. It has been spun that way by idiots, but I think that at it's core it isn't that. Also what the fuck does Christianity have to do with bigotry? Nice way to divert the argument
Im not diverting the argument. Human Abyss called a self proclaimed Christian (Mike Pence) a bigot. So I wish to have a discussion what makes a bigot tick. If it so important to prevent intolerance, it should be just important to have this discussion. By understanding what makes Mike Pence and his constituency so bigoted, we might come to a better understanding how to deal with it. I say the psychological structure of Christianity is designed to inflict emotional and psychological abuse upon its adherents, thus ends up resulting in bigoted behavior. I am asking if human abyss agrees.
If you vote for Hillary you'll have four years to vote for a better president
Well yeah and she might have an inch less of a temper than Trump, but if she's elected she will have power to appoint our next chief justice which will last hell of a lot longer than four years. And given her politics and practices that scares me hell of a lot more than any chief Trump would elect lemme tell ya.
I like guns as much as the next southern FPer but I hope Clinton wants to appoint a super liberal justice just to spit in the eye of Republicans who refuse to appoint Garland.

You cannot argue he is not. I'm not participating in your games. I'm serious, 100%, he is a bigot. There is no way you can convince me he is not, based on the fact he has said, and done, the things he has done, and said. No, fuck that, I don't think the US needs that right now at all.
