We want to get the citizen's happy first then start taxing them to fund our projects. Thank you for the information, to be honest once we gain more population, wealth, and political allies/rivals our military will need to be strong. We should though focus originally on defenses, then proceed to build more offensive weaponry such as tanks, APCs, etc. I do also beleive a secret police force would be in order? Perhaps if we want to rule with an iron fist a secret police service like the Stasi, or if we would like to be benevolent to our people we should have something like the CIA and the FBI combined and more efficient. Okay after putting some thought into where it could be possible to "build" an island, I came up with the island of clipper ton, a massive lagoon in the middle can be drenched out and utilized, the problem is, the island belongs to France. Another option could be to build it in somalia, land taken there would be much more financially available, but it would be much more dangerous. In somalia, there is a 5km long island on the equator and around 42 degrees east, it has plenty of space and beautiful beaches, as well as room of expansion into the nation of somalia itself, I would strongly suggest the empire to be built here. Check it out on google earth, il post an image later. Finally, I would suggest for people to look for shallow waters in the different oceans, were we could build our empire.

More dangerous? If you piss off the warlords, they walk you 20 paces into a field and shoot you with an anti-tank missile. We could buy an old nuclear missile silo in the American midwest, and use the surrounding land. We could use the silo as an apartment complex or a center for all administrative/civil buildings.

Well we could give shit tonnes of food, water, guns and other supplies to the local warlords/militias so they will love us and act as a personal army.

I am aware of the dangers, we would have to invest in better weaponry.

And PMCs. Somalia is too dangerous, as the carribean is also dangerous (Possible Earthquakes: Haiti. Also Hurricanes) Abandoned missile silo is still a very viable option, the government is selling them for as low as $25,000.

I still suggest a missile silo, it is a cheap alternative to furnishing and buying an entire island.
