Yes, sarcasm was used in the making of that post.
Guess I'm just stupid then.
Oh shit, another parkour thread.
Parkour was funny when they did it in The Office.
Well besides that, it's too dangerous for my taste, but I think it's cool enough.
Not a huge fan of flipping, but I enjoy the running, jumping, and climbing aspects.
Flipping is not parkour.

It's not dangerous if you don't fuck around and you practice a lot before moving on to anything that you could get hurt doing.

The worst injury I have ever gotten has been a bump on my knee.
It's really too bad that the main representation of parkour conists of faggot jocks whose sports aren't in-season...
Many of the people I've met doing parkour are really cool guys (a lot of them are somewhat nerdy, too).
I've only just started, but, in my opinion there isint much technique just a certain way to land and sometimes roll. There are also many ways to vault but you can pick one to use. It's very easy.
There is technique involved. If you don't learn to land/roll properly you can end up with knee problems. Also, on "standard" rib-height concrete blocks you can "pick" a vault to use but different vaults tend to be useful for different situations.
Looks fun but I have a pathological fear of anything that might produce embarrassment (Like jumping around in public) so not for me.
Either do it with a friend or realise that if someone laughs at you for enjoying yourself while getting exercise they are a massive douche and/just wish they had the motivation to do it.
I've always wanted to get into this but I always think that I'll smash my face into something or hurt myself really bad. Also, I wouldn't know where to start or who I could start with.
If you live in a city then I suggest you look around for others that do parkour or, better yet, an organisation that holds classes to teach people. I guess I am somewhat lucky that I live in Melbourne, Australia which is really good for parkour and there are a lot of traceurs around here.
I do parkour everyday. It's alot of fun, but not really alot of obstacles that's high enough to be a challenge...

Sigh. Friends made this and thought it was hardcore. :smithicide:
Fuck your friends. They are exactly the kind of people that make me reluctant to say I am 14 and a traceur.
It has been really fun the times I tried, sadly there's almost no places to do it where I live.

Well you still have my full respect of doing it, I've seen some pretty bad cases. I would do it myself, but there isn't any cool places nearby, especially not to practice.
Where I live it's very very FLAT.
Not a whole lot of stuff to do Parkour on.
Fuck your friends. They are exactly the kind of people that make me reluctant to say I am 14 and a traceur.
There are other reasons why you should be reluctant to say that.
Because it sounds fucking silly.

Why does it sound silly? A 14 year old can't be interested in certain things?
Why does it sound silly? A 14 year old can't be interested in certain things?
Of course, but a 14 year old calling himself a traceur (wat) is ridiculous at best.
I made a photoshop of that pic in the OP a long long time ago, let me re-upload it

It'd be so much cooler if it was real

Who/what do you think qualifies as a traceur, then?
Who/what do you think qualifies as a traceur, then?
I think he means that it sounds pretentious.
I think he means that it sounds pretentious.
Oh.
Well, I'm not the one who came up with the name... Unless that still isn't what he's getting at and he thinks the whole idea of someone who does parkour having a name is pretentious.
I like parkour but I prefer free-running, Free-running lets me look badarse. Sadly I can't flip yet but I will soon dammit! Also, I have a group of friends that started around the same time as me, so we go as a group. We race each other across town :3:
I do parkour every day :smug:
In Assassins Creed :frown:
District 13, must see for Parkour enthusiasts.

I love your avatar.
Used to do parkour a few years back during the summers. It involves a lot of trespassing to get anywhere cool and then the cops are always on your ass. So I stopped.
