In Norrland, you'r best bet to survive is being a viking.
The winter with -30C is nothing to play with.
. I want to go somewhere without a lot of Muslim immigrants, any suggestions?
Norway and Sweden let in so many immigrants it's ridiculous, so you're going to have a hard time finding a place where there's none. I'm not sure about Denmark though.
Norway and Sweden let in so many immigrants that some of them don't even have any place to live, so you're going to have a hard time finding a place where there's none. I'm not sure about Denmark though.
But they mostly keep to their own communities within the cities. I don't think I've met so many Muslims in my city, and it's one of the cities with the most immigrants.
I want to go somewhere without a lot of Muslim immigrants, any suggestions?
go to rinkeby no immigrants there
You seriously don't remember a thing about the 2011 WC finals match? I'd live in denial after that too :~)
it's just that no one gives a fuck.
Much like finland, if you replace all the drunkards with muslims.
I live in Sweden near Stockholm and it's really a great country in many aspects. Pros are: We have a left wing goverment (the current party in power is the most right wing party in the country although it is still left wing) We have free education and healthcare. We have a beautiful landscape and in most parts we have all four seasons unlike very cold or warmer countries. Over 70-80% of the Swedish population has 100mb/sec internet possibility We have good looking people :v: Everybody knows english except for very old people as it is a core subject so if you don't pass english in elementary you won't be able to get a proper education Cons: I've heard people are not "as friendly as in America". The country is becoming worse cause of shitty right wing politicians. People are in certain places quite racist towards people from the middle east. Can't come up with any more maybe someone can help [editline]19th September 2011[/editline] Oh and the language is also hard as fuck to learn
Cons: I've heard people are not "as friendly as in America".
I think it's more that people mind their own stuff and don't intrude in strangers personal space
I think it's more that people mind their own stuff and don't intrude in strangers personal space
Yeah that's a better way to decribe it I guess
Something I've noticed a lot here in Norway is that you won't see strangers talking to eachother in public. Like, at the busstops, everyone just stands around and mind their own business. As Akuma mentioned above, I think Scandinavians are generally very private people. Some might think we're "cold", but that's just how we are.
To sum it up; Awful weather 8-9 months a year. People are comparatively reserved until you get to know them. They're also rather arrogant. Fairly high living costs which are balanced by equally high salaries. People in general are fairly good-looking. (compared to the rest of Europe.) Brown immigrants are overabundant.
Well you're fairly depressing :v:
In a truly Swedish manner, I am.
Here's a useful line if you're abroad in Sweden Where is the closest hotel? Vart kan jag få ett ligg?
I think it's more that people mind their own stuff and don't intrude in strangers personal space
Pretty much that. I know a friend who went to the US for a month and virtually everywhere they went there was someone native who started talking to them, asking them where they were from, how they liked the country, being friendly in general. You'd rarely if ever see that happen in Sweden, people here just mind their own business and will never interact with strangers unnecessarily. To a foreigner Swedes might seem introverted and/or shy.
Politically-wise, Sweden is a terrible country. And how Anti-swedish some swedes are because they're too afraid of being proud and being racist because of being proud sickens me. A shirt with a Swedish flag on in school? Racism. White-trash. Hillbilly. Nazi. Not even human. Turkish flag in school? WHY SHOULDN'T YOU BE ABLE TO HAVE THAT? DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING AGAINST TO TURKS YOU FUCKING BITCH HUAIWHDIUAWHI. But nature-wise and economic, it's a great country.
Sweden is really boring and expensive.
I agree to some extent. If you're actually serious about moving to Sweden you'll learn that everything is pretty expensive now that the dollar is low. Once you get a job here though everything should work out fine. Oh and there's a 25% tax on everything you earn. Beware of Malmö though, it's a subtle battlefield [editline]19th September 2011[/editline]
To sum it up; Awful weather 8-9 months a year. Lets you stay at home when you're going to school by train/bus.

Also to explain the situation with muslims and especially dark skinned immigrants: Right wing parties recently rose to power in Sweden and Finland. This means "immigration criticality" is at an all time high. So basically all the people are very subtly and politically correctly racist.
I don't know what you guys think of America, but I really don't know if I can continue living here anymore. I hate the politics of this country more than anything, it's disgusting. I can deal with paying extra if it means benefiting everyone. That doesn't bother me. How is the job "climate" over there? Not sure what I want to do (especially when it comes to college/university), thought about free-lancing graphic design while working some typical 9 to 5 job to keep myself afloat if I need to. Is that possible over there? Even stricter immigration is more appetizing than the current political climate of the United States (imo) You guys might think it's boring over there, but you have a lot of shit I can only WISH the United States had figured out by now.
Hell I'm from Denmark and I consider moving to Sweden at some point, simply because I like the nature more. There's, like, only a couple of hills and a forest here and there. I WANT MOUNTAINS DAMNIT!
I WANT MOUNTAINS DAMNIT!
Shouldn't you move to Norway then?

Well, not those mountains. The swedish mountains. I spend a summer around one(can't remember what it was called). Most fun I've had in a long time.
I'm a 5 minute walk away from Lake Ontario. Problem is the local college has most of the beach front so getting to the beach that way is a pain, and the rest is infested with white trash I'd be happy with some hills maybe even a forest :C
Unemployment rate is roughly 9% in Sweden. I don't have a job so I can't say much about how the job climate is, but from what I gather the IT business in general is in great need of staff.
Socially, Sweden can be very diverse. Like in all countries there's all kinds of people here. But generally if you are outgoing and social you'll find that most swedes can be a little shy and unnerved by strangers, but most of us are good people who don't want to do any harm. Scanian people tends to be more social than the ones up-country from my experience, me and my friends usually have no trouble with partying with strangers or just talking with random people on the street, but that might just be me.
As said previously, Norway is a much better bet. We got everything Sweden got, in addition to a lot more
Shouldn't really live your entire life in Norway though, the oil is supposedly going to run out in less then 20 years last time i heard. How will they handle their economy when it's all dry? [editline]19th September 2011[/editline] Also love how whenever someone says they like Sweden there's always a thousand Norwegians going herp derp norway is better.
