They're not normal companies though. They're largely self managed or the people they answer to are also involved. So in many cases its a situation where there is no one only interested in the bottom line with the authority to step in and say "Cut that shit out."
Though there was Randy Pitchford politely telling Anthony Burch to shut the fuck up. That one is still lovely.
Notice how the Forbes writers have been silent or really really restrained in their stance? Its because they know if they went down the same road as Gamasutra and Kotaku, they'd get fired instantly.
I miss the old Summer swimsuit edition, I understand completely why they stopped though.
The Metal Gear Solid V one is one of the ones I quite like, its actually sitting right next to me. Not because I'm specifically keeping it, I just don't ever get around to throwing the things away. I have like 20 sitting on the table here, and had like another 20+ tossed on my bookshelf until a month ago when I got around to tossing them.

Found it. It was a direct link to the tweets, not an image:

Not going to stop calling out misogynist bullshit just because you tweet "memelands 2" at me, bros #Stillhere
@reverendanthony Consider that your approach has the same result with the people you hope to affect.
This is what I was thinking of, Randy being a surprisingly chill guy:
Y'know, this all reminds me of that big debacle regarding video game violence a few decades back. We got the moderates with us then, and look what that did!
We'll win the long game, they just can't really...compete with the fact that we spend the time and money on the big sellers.
Look at Gone Home. How much did that make? 250,000 as of February 7, 2014
Just let that sink in.
Grant Theft Auto V? One of those games that Anita criticized? 17.86 million copies as of the 6th of Septemeber.
Football Manager 2013? 1.09 million as of the 6th of Septemeber.
Simcity 2013? 1.18 million copies as of the 6th of Septemeber.
Fucking Farm Simulator 2013? 0.92 million copies as of the 6th of September.
Dawn of War 2, a game in a genre that's very very small sold 0.46 million copies as of the 6th of Septemeber.
FUCKING MEDAL OF HONOR WARFIGHTER SOLD 0.29 MILLION. Like, let that sink in, a generally panned and bad copycat FPS game sold more than a critically acclaimed game about lesbians.

Perhaps I'm blind but I don't see how any of these is incriminating. The closest one is the #AMIRITE one and that seems like sarcasm to me.
Also, why only a "selection" of e-mails? Why not put them all on a zip or in a pastebin?

better to spread them out through days to keep it in the news constantly than put them all at once to fade after a week.

That seems fishy as hell to me. If they were as important as Milo is trying to make them seem he wouldn't hide any of them or post them separately and out-of-context.

The issue is that the last time something like this was exposed, the journalists in question were specifically caught talking about trying to snuff out Hilary Clinton during the Democratic Primary.
It might not have negative discussions, but its very much an echo chamber ready to happen.
That seems fishy as hell to me. If they were as important as Milo is trying to make them seem he wouldn't hide any of them or post them separately and out-of-context.
Not really. Its just like happened in the very beginning when everything was coming out about Zoe Quinn. The release of information was staggered so it could disseminated for a bit, then another wave of information was released. It allows small amounts of information to be spread better, instead of lot getting released all at once and much of it getting over looked. It also means that people are consistently engaged in the situation instead of getting an instant surge, and then nothing.
Well I hope he has something up his sleeve because all I'm seeing so far is a bunch of journalists trying to be good people, or at least have good intentions.

There's a difference between giving support privately and giving support in public.

It's so things like this can happen as we put the spotlight on them
In a long apology published today on Ars Technica, senior gaming editor Kyle Orland, who founded GameJournoPros four years ago, admitted that comments we drew attention to yesterday had been "an error in judgment."
I had a thought. Maybe a bad one. You tell me: I remember a few years back when Patrick Klepek hit on some tough circumstances we all pitched in to get him a "feel better" gift. Anybody think something like that could be appropriate to address the circumstances that have been forced upon Zoe? Even if it's not monetary. Maybe a signed, joint letter of support from the Game Journo Pros. I know she's not a member of the group like Patrick was, but I do know that this is part of a broader theme of the industry losing talent to the toxic culture. And that's our business. In my mind, it's a joint show of solidarity to match the trolls' joint show of force ... The last thing I think we want is Zoe thinking she's under attack *alone.* The brain has a way of convincing you that silent people are against you.

Read the messages:
As sympathetic as I am to the horrible harassment Zoe faced, I think this incident has raised enough questions about the incestuous relationship between press and developers already.

...so I don't think we, as games press, should support furthering the story by commenting, editorializing or even allowing others to ruminate on it.

I made the mistake earlier of publicly voicing support and in doing so drawing more attention to the issue. I'd rather not make that mistake again.
It's not safe for them to publicly support ZQ anymore and they don't want to draw more attention to this whole mess, it's that simple.

Ban #GamerGate and that's wrong
Ban waifus and that's crossing the line

I wasn't actually saying they were doing that. In fact they sided with not publicly supporting her.

No, I can see why GamerGate, but this is now spilling over into other sections of 4chan that have nothing to do with it.

I fail to see how they were being illusive or dishonest. No one responded to his letter idea, like he said they did.

it fits the SJW mantra of not sexualizing women.
and if there's seriously SJW 4chan mods then this thing supports that theory.

That is a really contrived and far-out-there explanation for all of this.
