Look at it this way. With the responses inside those emails, its clear that these people don't understand Social Justice or some of the core parts of it.
Yet they right about it to us, like they have an authority and knowledge about it. That affects us.
People write things outside of their scope, it happens all the time, even outside of the internet. I say it's best to just let them be and ignore the bad articles. It's not like we can remove someone like them from their positions.
That's like, textbook character assassination and not even an article, its a blog post on an identified blog. Not a legitimate article being published on a legitimate journalistic source.

This isn't a case of one single bad article. This has happened over and over again.

But going by your logic we should not be listening to him because he's not qualified for this and should inform Breitbart about it.

Milo has also written plenty of bad articles. I don't see your point.

And in most of his articles he isn't qualified. However, he's speaking and talking from a place of the same career as these others which makes him knowledgeable in Journalism. That is why the stuff he is digging up has merit, because it is from a point of knowledge and experience.
[editline]18th September 2014[/editline]
I'm not looking to this guy for critiques for feminism and social justice, I doubt he truly has read anything about either.
I am however looking toward him and others about Journalism.
Milo isn't a good person and that should be clear to everyone here.
However I have no problem using him if it means he can dig up more info to support GG. As long as I can drop him the moment that GG is off the table.
It's a symbiotic relationship and reliance. It's like the USA & USSR coming together. There's no fucking way that relationship is going to last once the common enemy is gone.
Honestly, I don't buy that all these journalists are just bumbling idiots.
You have to remember the "gamers are dead" fiasco, where all those articles went up in the space of a day.

I'm honestly starting to think that either they thought too highly of themselves or they're idiots. Either case is not a good standard that they have set.

There is still no evidence connecting this group of journalists with the bloggers who posted the "gamers are dead" articles. These guys wanted no say in the matter.
I have finished recording
I'm actually just trying to debate honestly. I'm getting frustrated at a few points but both Killer and Mani make good points.

A bunch of them are editors or writers on the various websites that posted those articles.
Does anyone have a summarative post/video on this ordeal that is current? I'd like to offer my thoughts on the subject.
From what I've gathered in my limited understanding of the situation, the majority of people are upset about this network of game journalists grouping all "gamers" as misogynistic creeps because of the online abuse of Zoe Quinn, while also ignoring the emotional abuse her ex boyfriend endured while with Zoe. This eventually led to the discovery of their network and just how much control they have over indie gaming culture, and how much they've abused it.
I only read the article about Zoe sleeping with multiple people to earn favours, so feel free to correct me. Sorry if this is a common question, as well.
You should read Milo's other articles, such as "Transgenderism is a psychiatric disorder: its sufferers need therapy, not surgery"
This man fights for you
I will hate him after gamergate is over and done with
for now though, he's on our side and we need all the help we can get (the more the merrier, as they say.)

I'll be releasing a video hopefully today or tomorrow about a compacted video on this
I don't care if Milo is a Neo-Nazi, if he's doing his research and making good points for my side, I'm going to support him till this is over. Then I'll blast him for being a nazi.
Honestly I'd only have a problem with that logic if you accused the other side of doing the same thing as the one you ignore, which is basically what's going on here.
(Ars Technica management did not know of the list's existence, and while a few other writers at Ars were nominally members of the list, they rarely participated in discussions—and as far as I know, none participated in group discussions of Zoe Quinn or "GamerGate.")
Kyle Orland writes very different things compared to Casey Johnston, the author of "Gamers of Dead" at Ars Technica.

That's a very weak connection

I know Ars Technica is in the clear. I didn't name names because I'm still digging through the names and shite.
So in the end, the GameJournosPro group is a red herring and has nothing to do with #GamerGate or video game journalism corruption. Just like Game Illuminati was.

Do you not understand that we don't have the connections or abilities that anti-GG side have.
All we have is the mob! This is why everyone is angry, this is why conspiracy theories are so easy to make. This is why the GG side is so vitrolic.
No one wants to acknowledge us, no one wants to take us seriously until it hurts them somehow. No one wants to even dig into the issue and actually look through for fact and or fiction because of 'reasons'.
When literally very few are actually talking about our side, are giving us a fair shake. How hard is it to see the anger and easy it is to make the leap and connections that people are intentionally not wiling to talk with us.
Fergusson is looking more and more like a legit metaphor to this because as soon as this dies down, how much you wanna bet that these writers and shit are going to sit back like the all white fucking counsel are going to sit back and give half assed excuses and answers, deflections and nothing will get done. We have legitimate complaints but because of a small assholish minority and because the only people who give us the fucking time of day are god damn conservatives, we're fucking angry.
We're literally an angry mob with no voice outside of our own. We're being shoved into an echo chamber by these people who don't even wanna talk it out with us. Its not the job of the mob to give proof that its angry because the fact you have a fucking mob mean something is fucking wrong and if you're not even willing to address it you're part of the problem and only helping it.
[editline]18th September 2014[/editline]
I guess that's why I'm angry, maybe the others don't share my opinion.
Who is this jeff guy, and why is he a faggot?
I was doing prank calls on CS:GO surf and he gave me a number to the paramatta police station and I happened to record it. So he's a fag
I'm sorry for getting mad. I just want gaming to grow, it was important to my childhood, its the reason I decided to go to college.
And now I'm seeing all this shit and it does dishearten me, it infuriates me.
http://loudhouse.vg/ has been set up now for uncensored talk but it's not very active.
Might be the worst board theme I've ever seen. Worse than the OIFY.
I understand them making a mistake. They allowed their biases to cloud their judgment on the issue and didn't investigate a lead, which is something journos are supposed to try to avoid. But as a journalist you need to come out and correct your articles when this happens. They instead doubled down and insist they did nothing wrong.(With a lot of suspicious timing in saying it)
That they're saying they would've coordinated on a letter to pass around behind the scenes, or that they could use this to promote her work instead is not helping their case.
Milo's blog essentially been DDOS'd

a lot of that seemed to be them claiming its not gaming related, it thats the case why then do the same sites run storys about max tempkin's personal life? fucking jokers

Nobody is taking you serious anymore when you have a massive web detailing everyone's relation, no matter how insignificant, as proof of corruption.
To be honest, I think #GamerGate has been finished for some time now. The damage has already been done: game journalist sites have revised their ethics policy; IGF, IndieFund, and IndieCade are suspected of fraud, along with Phil Fish; Zoe and Maya's reputation are down the drain and no one will want to associate with them; and it's very well possible the FBI has gotten involved. The damage has been done.
The only thing left to do is wait for an official report, but the internet hate machine doesn't want to stop. They're still very much eager to point fingers at people and conservatives such as Milo are exploiting this.

No one took us seriously to begin with. The fact they never engaged us in nothing more than an inflammatory way means very damn well they open themselves up to conspiracy theories. You know what's really happened? They've immortalized GamerGate through conspiracy theories.
Which by the way, are on the rise when it comes to the average joke believing them.

Yeah, paying money to each other in Patreon is pretty insignificant, right? Having the kind of close connections to tons of other sites that allow you to put out the same message almost in unison is just being friends, right?
I don't think it really matters if the damage is done or not, if people can keep finding crap on them then go ahead, more dirty laundry to the pile. Milo's motivations may be to use it for more exposure, but his actions in investigating and presenting information are clean, and until he actually does fuck up then he's fine to continue doing so.

The Patreon business was cleared up with the revised ethics policy and there is a massive difference between a network for peers and buddy-buddy relationships, which GameJournosPro is the former.

It matters because the people actually involved in the corruption are now dealing with the consequences. Now you're jumping to anything in hopes of catching lightning twice.
But whatever, you can't stop the internet hate machine.
The Patreon buisness was cleared up for two places. Others have openly stated they don't see a problem with it.
