Honestly the most important thing to do is to inform as many people as possible what is happening, for the purpose of one very simple goal - stop visiting these websites. They are unprofessional and unethical, ergo they do not deserve readers or ad revenue. When you're bad at your job, you lose it. And when the quality of work is poor, profit declines. This is already happening, a lot of sites have lost revenue. They might be able to ignore a bunch of angry words, but I'd like to see them ignore their websites going down the toilet due to nobody reading them anymore.
That's exactly why #GamerGate is still going. They want to see the conclusion for themselves before choosing to stop and what has been now does not hold up as a suitable conclusion to them because if they choose to stop now, the pressure on people caused by them will fade away and they can go back to their usual deeds. They want conclusive proof and action, not just to assume they won just because they've played some winning cards. It's not over until it's over.
Who are they? Give me names. Otherwise it sounds like you're chasing your tail.
No one took us seriously to begin with. The fact they never engaged us in nothing more than an inflammatory way means very damn well they open themselves up to conspiracy theories. You know what's really happened? They've immortalized GamerGate through conspiracy theories. Which by the way, are on the rise when it comes to the average joke believing them.
Well there's this that just came out about half an hour ago. http://nichegamer.net/2014/09/real-gamedevs-sound-off-regarding-the-gamergate-controversy/
After all this is said and done, I would like to put forward the notion of redubbing "The Streisand Effect" as "The Dead Gamer Effect". This could have just been one of those things that everyone burns themselves out over after a couple days and eventually reach mutual compromises; but those articles essentially restructured the whole thing as a culture war.
Who are they? Give me names. Otherwise it sounds like you're chasing your tail.
Patricia Hernandez is a pretty good example of conflict of interest
The Patreon business was cleared up with the revised ethics policy and there is a massive difference between a network for peers and buddy-buddy relationships, which GameJournosPro is the former.
I don't think you can clear up those kind of issues where you pay people you report on with just an ethics policy change, especially when it doesn't seem to have any effect other than making their profiles private. As for whether it is buddy-buddy or just professional networking, there's obviously going to be differences of opinion, but as I said before the massive collaboration on what kind of message they will put out, if they should cover it, and the "Gamers are dead" stories in unison hints towards it being a little too close.
It matters because the people actually involved in the corruption are now dealing with the consequences. Now you're jumping to anything in hopes of catching lightning twice. But whatever, you can't stop the internet hate machine.
Yes, we wouldn't want the unprofessional shit that people have done to actually have consequences, would we? Expecting people to not do things that could bite them in the ass if they came to light is just internet hate machine rather than asking for accountability.
Internet accountability machine has a nice ring to it
Internet accountability machine has a nice ring to it
Yes. Let's all be accountabilibuddies!

There could be lots of changes you're not seeing as a result of #GamerGate. Not everything will be plastered on the front page. I am finding the whole censorship situation incredibly disturbing,Reddit after campaigning against SOPA and whatever alphabet soup bills go around decides to lead the the crusade for free speech,by censoring and whitewashing its site multiple times In regards to Tesla,Celebrity nudes, and Gamergate.4Chan has decided to follow suite to an even harsher extreme as of late. Not mentioning the blackout and general censoring elsewhere in media.

Again though, many still did violate the code of ethics each site had at the time and accountability and consequences for those violations would be appreciated, even if it's like the escapist just issuing a straight apology.

Same goes for lying, harassment, invasion of privacy, corruption, you name it. You are all that matters, so crush anyone and anything that stands in your way, by any means necessary." I'm convinced that this is what these kinds of people heard constantly from adults when they were kids. I know that's not the case, but they seem so remorseless and persistent in their corruption that it'd have to be ingrained from birth.

It makes so much sense, now!

Done, I feel like it may be shabby but it explores as much as I could in an 8 minute timeframe (this video run time is 8minutes and 33 seconds with 5 minutes of explaining and 2 minutes of personal reflection) [t]http://puu.sh/bETkP/91195242af.jpg[/t] Rendering now, uploading when my Dad comes home so I can use his 4G to speed up the upload
Nobody is taking you serious anymore when you have a massive web detailing everyone's relation, no matter how insignificant, as proof of corruption. To be honest, I think #GamerGate has been finished for some time now. The damage has already been done: game journalist sites have revised their ethics policy; IGF, IndieFund, and IndieCade are suspected of fraud, along with Phil Fish; Zoe and Maya's reputation are down the drain and no one will want to associate with them; and it's very well possible the FBI has gotten involved. The damage has been done. The only thing left to do is wait for an official report, but the internet hate machine doesn't want to stop. They're still very much eager to point fingers at people and conservatives such as Milo are exploiting this.
The web was never proof of corruption, it was just showing who's connected with who, just to lay-out why someone might have an incentive to help someone else. It was never intended as an "attack this person" list, but rather a way to get a glimpse of the bigger picture, Coincidentally, it's pretty much how we found out about Silverstring media. Really, we just want to point out potential suspects, but really they're innocent until proven guilty.

Rendered and its 70mb (surprisingly) so I'm uploading it, give me an hour
has there been more attention flocking here? Is FP going to become the movements home base since /v/ is kill by doing it for free?
has there been more attention flocking here? Is FP going to become the movements home base since /v/ is kill by doing it for free?
Probably not, considering the existence of 8chan and masterchan. Still, it's good for us to be discussing this.

The free market has bleeding them dry for years, they have been losing ground to social networking (ex: steam community), and literally any twat with a webcam and a youtube account. (ex PewDiePie) 2. Several of these decided that alienating the majority of their userbases in favor of appeasing small but vocal segment that are generally offended by everything, and by extension impossible to market anything to. 3. Customers are leaving en mass because a comparable service can be built by any dweeb with spare server space. Said people are linking to these other places, the people that don't give a shit are starting to flee (hence the slowly sinking alexa rankings) 4. The Escapist saw the writing on the wall because they aren't run by incompetent narcissists. Vice hasn't been affected because they primarily don't do gaming. 5. The parent companies on these other sites probably wont do much until after the second or third consecutive quarter, than either purge them and issue an apology, or shudder them entirely. They are going on life support soon and don't even realize it, Let them burn.

Oh wait. I just remembered that I'm friends with a reporter at The Washington Post. Woops. I'll give him a ring tomorrow. It's now only a matter of time until its effects become visible.
Aligning yourself with a literal nazi because he posts an opinion piece that fits with your narrow views on gender shows how little moral fibre some people have.
