A few people did mention it, as I quoted in my post. We have the moral high ground on the most part (bar the abusive trolls on Twitter) so there's really no need to associate yourself with the likes of him. If he posts legitimate information that can be used and has been verified, then that's great but nobody here should consider him as an "ally" at any point. He is a shit and no doubt has his own agenda. Bear in mind he runs a website or blog that does tech reviews; he could stand to profit from this situation.

Did you read the title and nothing else? The entire point of it is that there's more to transgenderism than a simple gender switch and treating it like that's the only problem at play does a massive disservice to them. As he says, sort out all the psychiatric things and get them proper care rather than going straight to transitioning, because for something as massive as a sex change rushing it through isn't going to help.

I read the entire article. It would be very interesting if it was written by a doctor and backed by a scientific thesis.

But it isn't. It boils down to him being intolerant of transgenderism and having the [b]opinion[/b] that [B]transgender people are mentally ill[/B] and offering absolutely no substantive or reliable evidence for this conclusion.

I read that article and the study he talks about and it really doesn't seem like that to me. He has misguided views but [url]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_identity_disorder[/url] is actually classified as a mental disorder, so saying they're mentally ill is not incorrect. His opinions on what treatment should be like for those people are wrong and the twists the facts to support his view, but if you're saying he's a homophobe based on that then you're also twisting his words.

As for actual "homophobe" views he may have, take this for instance:

As someone who's bi I can understand this. I have no problems with being gay but it's a lot easier to be straight. Every time sex is brought up as a conversation topic in a group of people I fear mentioning that I also like guys before knowing how people feel about the subject. If you're completely gay it must be a lot worse because then you either have to outright lie about liking girls or you face people shitting on you constantly (or losing friends) because you're gay. And this is from my experiences living in a pretty big city. If you're brought up in smaller cities that are more conservative it's probably a lot worse.

But yea the guy does seem pretty edgy with his views and I think people should at least be aware of that.
