I'm legitimately depressed that 4chan has stopped being the volatile, open place i used to know it as. browsing /v/ feels strangely alien

I find the anti-GG crowd to be so uncanny. I'm not asking for a hugbox, but they came out of the blue in such great numbers.

This is obviously planned just like the "Gamers are dead" articles were. It's meant to demoralize. They're combining a raid with their censorship. It would normally be smart but GG was formed against exactly this kind of shit and people were initiating the regroup as it happened. All it really did was get people wondering about it even more.
Think: now everyone is going to be asking "is 4chan seriously censoring this?" It doesn't matter what side they're on, that is HUGE news. GG is going to be front page all over again. The ride never ends!
Ah, man, I can't take the timing of this. 4chan going down the tubes, I could handle; a group of good friends splitting up, I could handle; but not both of those at the same time. I'm chokin' up here.
4chan is dead, at least we have 8chan. God I hope that faggot m00t dies poor and destitute sucking SJW tranny dick for his gold.
4chan mods deleted the deep sea threads and 4AM threads on /v/
4chan mods deleted the deep sea threads and 4AM threads on /v/
What
The

Have they purged any filename threads yet?

What are Deep Sea and 4AM threads?
What are Deep Sea and 4AM threads?
they're for when you're making pudding at 4 am because you've lost control of your life.
4chan mods deleted the deep sea threads and 4AM threads on /v/
but it's not 4AM yet
What are Deep Sea and 4AM threads?
Both /v/ culture.
Deep Sea revolves around all the spooky shit in the deep sea. Pressure is a common theme, the would be spook simulator that takes places in a deep sea station; shit happens and you have to survive.
4AM has been explained.
What are Deep Sea and 4AM threads?
at 4am every night a thread is posted with the stew pickles from rugrats making chocolate pudding at 4am saying he "lost control of his life". it's usually combo'd with the protomen song light up the night.
it's funny because /v/ users feel the same way and it's just a board inside-joke thing.
i actually never visited a deep sea thread though. apparently it's about underwater video game stuff.
but it's not 4AM yet
I've lost control of my life, I can't even tell what time it is even.
Next you'll be telling me Piccolodick is not video games

"didnt read but ur still bad"
yep. unfortunately I've had similar conversations. people not looking into GamerGate and just siding with the journos.

"I didn't read any of your points, arguments, concerns or evidence but you're all manchildren who should kill 'your'reselfs' for hating an independent womyn"
How fucking delusional can they get
So I got banned from SRSgaming after no less than a single post. Wow. It was a pretty decent one too, but disagreeing with their narrative = ban. Oh well, I wasn't hoping for much reason to come out of them anyway.
My thoughts on 4chan removing GG threads are that I understand why moot did it, but I think it's bad for the movement.
GG threads were a constant for days on /v/, people tried to contain it to one thread but weren't very successful. It was a nuisance for people who didn't care, it frequently had issues with rule-breaking when someone would intentionally or unintentionally post personal info, and it attracted a lot of people engaging in shilling which dramatically reduced the civility in these threads. It was only getting worse and despite a few complaining threads things have gotten back to video games on /v/.
The problem is that GG isn't over and /v/ was still the centre for a lot of organisation. It had the numbers, the fast updates, and people not afraid to speak their mind on the issue. Where so many other communities are either small or overly controlled, it was perfectly suited there. With /v/ gone everything is far more disorganised, it loses a lot of attention, and it's harder to keep up with the kind of organisation both professionally and in established communities that the anti-GG side has.
This will and has hurt GG and it's frustrating to see so much effort with everyone on their best behaviour go to waste, but I guess moot only cares about looking after 4chan rather than getting involved and I can't fault him for that.
someone finally made a good summary video
Ok, I was all ready to give this a listen, but when she starts off talking about games being made by social engineers and games like Call of Duty being made in collusion with the military to increase recruitment rates, I called BS. When she called Depression Quest "not a game" because you can't score, I turned it off. Depression Quest isn't the most interactive thing, but adventure games in general have been around for years and you clearly don't score in those. This is not a good summary.
4chan mods deleted the deep sea threads and 4AM threads on /v/
Apparently a vidya girl's thread got deleted too. No nudity either. Just pictures of everyone's waifus from their favourite games.
Got introduced to another word I'd never seen before: "TERF" (Trans Exclusionary RadFem). Would have preferred learning this in academic discussion, instead I learned it due to the amount of trans hate spewing from the anti-GG crowd on twitter.
Fuck I'd hate to be trans when even the SJWs hate you.

Yep, a decent amount of feminists hate transpeople for one reason or another. You'll see things from "Validating gender stereotypes" to "Infiltrating women." Its always a pleasant experience when the people who act like they're supposed to be protecting you hate you.
could anybody seriously imagine a family friendly 4chan?

"OP you are a friendly guy thanks for your informative post and here's why you're right even more."
Well, as we are witnessing the death of old 4chan, its users won't be able to ignore gamergate anymore.
It's now something that affects all boards.
Wow I have never expected for this event to turn into censoring 4chan, of all things.
I am truly excited and worried about this now.
