Or like, your own nation.
For the people talking about Valve and anyone interested in any response from them the ONLY hope you have is emailing Doug Lambardi. Valve employees will tell you to contact him when you ask about gamergate, which is smart imo when holding a job like that. Doubt anyone will get any response worth merit other than pure neutrality.
Yeah, Valve will probably want to stay out of this completely.
That reminds me that I should add a Puppetmaster class to my game
The one about psychic students? Yes please! I'd play the shit out of it.
If Valve won't make a statement about a fucking seasonal game mode after a week and a half of whining on the Volvo Facebook page, what makes you think they'll comment about this shit storm that doesn't even involve them in the first place?
This is just proof you're famous. You've grown too big and they don't like that.
I was actually warned that people were finding my twitter and it was causing issues. People have, again, privately contacted me to support me and talk about being disillusioned. I'm convinced that the mods are buddies with Zoe. NO self-respecting SJ mod should EVER consider abuse "a personal matter." If an abuser can harm again, it is inherently a public matter. No exceptions.
It's not just corruption, I believe the main problem is that the western culture (especially America as it seems to be quite the epicenter of it) is trying to bring up political correctness into everything. I guess it's because most of us are living easy lives, and some individuals are so bored that they'd likely find the most asinine thing to complain about. (Remember the whole "objectification of women in vidya/comics/art" crap for instance?). Internet gave them an easy way to express their opinions, despite how counter-productive it is.
That really is what it comes down too, ain't it? I personally don't give a shit about this whole thing, the only thing i'm looking forward from all this backlash is that hopefully the majority of people will snap back from this stupid fucking PC thinking and just go back to talking about games. I don't want to go to a gaming website and be greeted by a blog piece about a beta fuck by the name of David Ellis complaining about the attire of a fucking videogame character that goes on to call a great developer a "manbaby". I mean what the fuck is this juvenile shit? Over where i live, you don't see this at ALL, you just have gamers talking about games, you show this sort of thing to them and they'd be laughing about it for DAYS. Fuck man.
A lot of indie devs and SJWs already don't like Valve or Steam, they think its undermining indie gaming or some shit.
It "undermines" them because they have to pay Valve something like 20%-30% for service providing, and they cannot understand why that patriarchy exists in gaming!

No exceptions.
They most likely have nothing in common with SJ at all, just a bunch of bandwagoning Tumblrite-like 'elements' who couldn't give a rat's ass about actual abuse and suffering in the world, they're just in it to bash strawman and feel cool and progressive about it, because apparently leftism is such a novelty on the Internet. That's the vibe I personally get any time I browse any of the SRS subs, don't think it's a stretch to think that mods are any different. They defend her not because 'personal matters' or anything, it's because she's a woman and a public figure, fair and square. There's absolutely no reason to think that 'if roles were reversed' they would still say that. And considering that they expressed their thoughts about Eron more than once there (including what you've shown us), well. That's not social justice, that's white-knighting. I don't think you should give it any thoughts at all. It's a good thing that you're out of there, honestly. Valve is going to "fix" some of the issues related to game discoverability soon, apparently. Here's a theory that's been going around:
Steam is going to introduce a Curator system, that basically turns Steam into a popularity contest. Curating consists in normal reviewing and upvoting greenlight games, but here's the thing: you have followers, and the more followers you have, the more weight your votes and reviews have. Steam's goal is to ONLY curate the curators, instead of the games, and let the curators decide what shit enters Steam and what doesn't. They're even considering making the top ones test the games themselves. Why are they doing this? Gaben doesn't want to hire more people and turn Steam into a huge business, and he doesn't want to abandon his system of "do what you want", and nobody wants to do Greenlight or Customer Support. So instead of offering two shitty services, they're going to outsource Greenlight to the members community with the BIGGER DICK and focus on Support.
Some of it is supported by what's shown here http://steamdb.info/blog/steam-store-v6-peek/. I don't know if this is good or bad, but at first glance it fixes most of the issues related different groups of people being biased. If you like Depression Quest and Gone Home, you just follow people who push those types of games. If you don't like them you just unfollow people that push them and so on. It's sort of like Twitter in that it creates multiple echochambers of game genres and types that people like to play (in the case of Twitter its multiple echochambers of opinions, regarding gamergate at least).
The one about psychic students? Yes please! I'd play the shit out of it.
Yea, this whole deal made me stop working on anything though because apparently I have the lowest attention span ever.
Uh oh, all the journos involved in that mailing list. The problem is that with a "popularity contest" you'd get retarded youtube people (those screaming ones that names I dont want to say) get the most power and with that they will get shitty games on purpose, so they can milk them for views.
I think this whole thing is revealing that the SJW-types on gaming websites often tend to be the exact same sexists, weirdos, and creeps they decry in their articles and tweets. I've seen quite a few of the so-called "progressives" tweet or post comments that go completely against what they state they believe in, like that NeoGAF mod. It makes it very hard to take them seriously when they complain about shit like Quiet the Sniper's design, knowing that they've very likely doing things calling women "bitches", sending dick pics to women game reviewers, and whining about how his girlfriend/wife wouldn't put out for him when they're with certain company.

At some point though it's impossible to not make it a popularity contest. Sure, some bad games become popular because famous people just want to be funny, but overall it doesn't change the reality that good games always become popular and that in the end how many people buy it is a decent enough rough indicator of quality.

How do I hate women by taking pleasure when looking at them half-naked or sexily clothed. How, it baffles my mind. 3rd wave feminists are mostly existant in the NA/UK and some fully developed european countries. Why is that ? Maybe because they're out of touch with reality and were raised in a blanket society that does not give them a real whipping when you fuck up. In post soviet countries there's none but the ones that have been bought as "actresses" (femen), or those that have been also grown in blanket surroundings, ex.: some richman's daughter. Also, they loudly exclaim when some "game" of theirs gets flaked for not being a game but some interactive experience. "If you don't like it don't buy it". Even though when they don't like an actual game because it has some shaky breasts or puffy vulvas, they exclaim that "If you don't censor it we won't buy it/No one wants that misogynistic stuff in videogames". Give me a fucking break, it was boiling for about 4 years now, but they took a lid off off a pressure cooker, without depressurizing it.
I turned the abuse post into a twitter post BTW, for anyone who wants to share: https://twitter.com/SdoctmdPlays/status/514081148121939968
Well while I don't agree with the concept of harmful sexual 'objectification', it's not that actually. It's not you being sexist by looking at scantly clad women. It's people who cash in by it, and those who encourage this style of clothing. The narrative is that they reduce the worth and value of particular woman (and at the same time, all women as a whole, somehow) to their sexual appeal and appearance. And that's harmful. I might just have no problem with such a concept, but here comes the inevitable continuation. When men are presented like meat with little to no emotion, with sole purpose in life to get buff, get cool, get the best girl there is, produce offspring and heroically die to defend the innocent - that's male power fantasy. Because men want to look like that, while women in no way in this world want to look sexy and appealing to men.

Also the anti-gg sticky on /v/ is gone. Has freedom been regained? Or is it still unspoken law?

I am watching the KingofPol stream and right now they were able to get an Anti-GG person on the show. Truly I am speechless at how dumb minded people can be.
Also the anti-gg sticky on /v/ is gone. Has freedom been regained? Or is it still unspoken law?
Until I see a GamerGate thread hit the reply cap, I wouldn't cheer.
Every time I go to the KingofPol stream I feel like he is totally out of control of his own stream and the people who he brings in just talk over him all the time and he has no control of the conversation. Do people really watch this for information?
