Well while I don't agree with the concept of harmful sexual 'objectification', it's not that actually. It's not you being sexist by looking at scantly clad women. It's people who cash in by it, and those who encourage this style of clothing. The narrative is that they reduce the worth and value of particular woman (and at the same time, all women as a whole, somehow) to their sexual appeal and appearance. And that's harmful. I might just have no problem with such a concept, but here comes the inevitable continuation. When men are presented like meat with little to no emotion, with sole purpose in life to get buff, get cool, get the best girl there is, produce offspring and heroically die to defend the innocent - that's male power fantasy. Because men want to look like that, while women in no way in this world want to look sexy and appealing to men.
I've found that people that think like this usually end up as de facto puritans that freak out if any sort of cleavage or sexuality is shown, except leftist language is used as the reason why the person is a fool or just plain bad for doing things like exposing their navel instead of citing things like "traditional values" and Jesus. I think the entire thing is ridiculous and is the reason why I've shifted towards "who gives a fuck?" if a person or a fictional female character has even slightly revealing outfits. I'd rather have sexualization everywhere than become the exact morality police I hate, but for a leftist reason. Nothing worse than being a hypocrite that pisses on the people that they want to be free.
404
Saved on phone.
Also the anti-gg sticky on /v/ is gone. Has freedom been regained? Or is it still unspoken law?
Stickies on the faster boards never stay up for more than a few days at a time. We'll have to wait and see. For all we know moot could just be trying to appease whoever's pressuring him with the sticky and extra censoring and then going straight back to normal after it dies down. I've been able to have a decent discussion about all the shit going on on /g/ for 3 or so hours and the thread hasn't tanked yet, so possibly. Then again /g/ isn't know for its active moderators.
Until I see a GamerGate thread hit the reply cap, I wouldn't cheer.
Yeah, was just following one there, just got 404'd. So it's still being actively deleted.
-snip- ahh how can i say this you have to understand...
-words-
And there you go. At least you can count on the mods being too busy on /v/ and /pol/ to worry about the other boards.
I listen for the discussion. Right now the discussion really has taken new heights.
I retract my statement. Right now, the discussion is beyond being explained through words.
listening to kingofpol and others talk to an anti-gg person. http://www.hitbox.tv/kingofpol theyve been dancing around words and its very hard to listen to them for a long time. in debates they begin things with "you have to understand..." and then talk out their ass. claimed "culture is not people" and "well if people make up culture and thats reality, reality is wrong." called milo a conservative that we should not trust and not believe his #gg info, then says his #gg info is true, then tells milo to his face "no offense, i'm not going to insult you..." and "i dont know who you are" its fucking gold.
The current opposition guy is swedish. Why is there so much deflecting and goalpost moving. SWEDEN, YES
confirmed, according to anti-gg guy on kingofpol's stream you can hack videos and telephones.
confirmed, according to anti-gg guy on kingofpol's stream you can hack videos and telephones.
Even if you are not connected to the web in any way.
Just a note, after revisiting RCR(Regular Car Reviews, their stuff is crass but filled with literary references). It seems like the Car industry has the same damn issues that the gaming industry has, but worse. Like to the point that you get handed pre-written reviews which you can switch around to make 'em sound different.
isn't RCR somewhat unsrs?
isn't RCR somewhat unsrs?
They're srs but with a very very very very thick veil of sarcasm.
Valve is going to "fix" some of the issues related to game discoverability soon, apparently. Here's a theory that's been going around: [...] Some of it is supported by what's shown here http://steamdb.info/blog/steam-store-v6-peek/. I don't know if this is good or bad, but at first glance it fixes most of the issues related different groups of people being biased. If you like Depression Quest and Gone Home, you just follow people who push those types of games. If you don't like them you just unfollow people that push them and so on. It's sort of like Twitter in that it creates multiple echochambers of game genres and types that people like to play (in the case of Twitter its multiple echochambers of opinions, regarding gamergate at least).
I actually love the idea of creating echo-chambers on Steam: When people start isolating themselves into small groups and only talk about stuff with people of similar opinions, the hateful SJ movements are going to die a quick death in relation to their influence on what people buy because the consumers can seclude themselves from them. It doesn't matter how vocal they are, just how many of them there are in the end (unless comments get enabled on curated collection which would be a terrible decision).
Yea, this whole deal made me stop working on anything though because apparently I have the lowest attention span ever.
That happened to me too, I didn't get anything done for about a month at all (though that was mostly because my attention span got wrecked by an unrelated matter). I'm picking up the pace again now though, I've already managed to [del]rip off[/del] port about 70% of you behaviour tree functions into C#. (It's a bit easier there due to native coroutines but wow the parallel stuff is a mess with the idiotic approach I took (which I'm going to discard later today)).
Captain we're under attack!
Same time as the previous 3, conspiracy?
