T
Full stop. You are joking right? So If I made a game about jelly cubes playing golf IF I don't make sure I don't have jelly cubes with the clear distinction that they are female I get points taken off. Wow.
Not sure about literal genderless blobs like you said. But if you were pitching Spyro or Kirby for example, even if they are mascot characters where their gender doesn't matter in the slightliest, you'd want to point out that Spyro or Kirby were in fact female in order to not lose points and have a better chance of getting picked by the judges. Or give them a female sidekick that stays with them through the adventure.
It's not sexism if it's in favor of women. :v:
Thompson got disbarred, Sarkeesian got a raise. :/
Thompson got disbarred, Sarkeesian got a raise. :/
Thompson was a joke but I'd rather he be around right now rather than Anita. Thompson couldn't get anything done and I'm totally okay with that.
Thompson got disbarred, Sarkeesian got a raise. :/
Can't sleep with a sixty-something man. Well, you can I guess, but games have obviously brainwashed us to value only white men with shaved heads or white distressed women. Edit: I could only be bother to look at his Wikipedia page, but Thompson appears to have a healthy head of luscious grey hair. Personally, I don't think Thompson is a bad person, per se. To me, he seems to be just an old man with old values, just refusing to change with the times. He does have a tendency to jump to ridiculous conclusions, but that I can forgive. We all do that. The thing that convinced me of this was how he acted with the 'Mass Effect Sex Scandal' thing, where he dismissed it as the media being ridiculous. The guy has standards. If he had a problem with gaming, it was the violence and its potential effect on kids. And that's a genuine concern, misguided his methods may have been. Anita is a whole different matter. She's probably well knows what she's doing. The way I see it, she's in it for the money and who knows what else.
Haha holy crap the Steam curators thing just launched and TotalBiscuit is top subscribed, beating kotaku and neogaf by miles, he just broke the 45000 mark in the last couple of minutes Wouldn't be surprised if they had a butthurt article out by lunchtime about it claiming PC gaming is dead
Update, TB's pointed this out; https://vine.co/v/O7gXMmlYWWa Now Kotaku's pulled their recommendation :v: Huh, Leigh Alexander is their "project direction advisor", more like "string puller"
Thinking about it, i kind of miss Jack Thompson... I wonder what he's doing nowadays. Isn't he retired by now?
Last time I saw Jack he seemed like he wasn't even pretending to take his whole violent video games crusade seriously anymore so yeah, he's probably moved on.
You mean Leigh "Catch Me if You Klan" Alexander?
No it's Leigh "I'm a megaphone" Alexander
is there a way we can get garry to remove the RPS bot though? It's really shit
Well it was removed once before, but people complained that its replacement, ShackNews, was boring and eventually it was brought back with PCGamesN.

I dunno if anyone feels like this, but I've felt kind of left out in some ways. I'm very far left politically, and honestly, most of my twitter feed seems to be turning more and more into conservative voices. I completely support gamergate, but I don't want this issue to turn into a right vs left issue, because I don't think that's what it is at its core. I'm a little upset that the reporter who's dogged this entire affair the most professionally is a conservative columnist from Breitbart who called someone I admire a lot, Chelsea Manning, a "traitorous tranny". I just feel that politically, I don't have any trees to sit under, or very many people that agree with me, everyone's just talking about #basedNero all the time. Is it wrong to feel this much consternation over this? It's just off putting to see so many prominent conservative voices in this, but not very many leftists. Am I missing something, or am I just alone?
You aren't alone. I've been upset about that too. I wish more left leaning journalists would come out and do their own investigating. There are some really scummy people in gaming, and proGG feminist writers/bloggers/devs would know where to start in exposing them. A lot of people in the industry want to speak out. They just cannot due to cronyism silencing others.
I haven't focused on the political aspect at all. I don't care where you stand in politics I just care about my goddamn videogames.
Found this on twitter, look at the far left I believe that's the chart we were making on pro, anti, purged and neutral websites during this ordeal. How awesome [editline]23rd September 2014[/editline] Also
I haven't focused on the political aspect at all. I don't care where you stand in politics I just care about my goddamn videogames.
That's likely the correct way to assess the matter, since this is, after all, about inclusiveness regardless of belief in defence of video games. I don't mind sharing the tent with conservatives, but it just seems that there aren't many people idealogically-minded as I am here who're speaking up as well. Perhaps they're just not as vocal about it

Anyone seen this yet? http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-London/2014/09/23/How-sloppy-biased-video-games-reporting-almost-destroyed-a-CEO Pretty fucked up stuff.
How do these people still have a job? Im starting to find that these articles remind me of ones I've seen on the Onion.
How do these people still have a job? I completely agree with the content, but I don't like the political spin
Not questioning the content, but this sentence really rubs me the wrong way
Milo is too far right wing, so I guess this is expected
