Compounding that is that the entire issue sits well within the realm of plausibility; I followed the whole deal that Kuchera had with Kain, and everything Milo says about it's true, so it's not at all a difficult stretch to say he'd led the torches and pitchforks to another person he'd written about

Isn't it just same as in politics? It's not about what you do, but about who you know. Get to know the right people and you can live like a king forever.
How often have you not seen someone resign in politics but they pop up as some leader from some commission or organisation that is tied with a political party.
Let's just look at Ben Kuchera. He worked at Penny Arcade Report, Ars Technica and now at Polygon. In the time that he worked at all those places, he probably worked up quite his network. And if you look at the e-mail list that has been kept quiet for a few years, it only reaffirms that some of them are part of a very tight clique.

We've managed to get The Escapist and Erik Kain to look up and realize the bullshit they've been doing, and apparently multiple game devs agree with us (but not publicly, this IS gaming journalism we're talking about).
Plus, a LOT of SJWs and "journalists" are pissed to high heaven, so that's a big plus.

GG is a massive crowd somehow controlling the delivery of its message. I have no idea how we've made it this far without splitting into 90 different factions but god damnit I am proud of these people for keeping their shit together, acting reasonable, and calling out retards no matter what side they're on.

There is minor divisions and he usual lighthearted inter-community stuff but it has stuck to cause well. I think its because its such a visible and prominent objective, and ultimately we're all affected by it the same way, we all lose if we fail. It helps establish legitimacy for the movement as well because it can stay so well unified.
