That's completely indicative of why SJ is going to fail utterly, long term. The people supporting the platform have shown themselves to be pretty much 100% insulated, both physically and mentally. Not much of a surprise to me that BWE was the first dev company to circle the wagons without waiting for any kind of objective analysis of what was going on, very few people there actually read the forums directly but rather rely on specific people to cherry pick info they want or care about relative to feedback or a topic; if you've ever actually been to the building itself, you're basically entering a fluffy fortress of solitude where everything is built and for being the building and environment and literally ignoring any kind outside stimulus. Gearbox is pretty much the same thing. It's pretty easy to feel as if you're absolutely in the right when you're insulated from anything and don't have to deal with anyone whom might ever disagree or see differently than you... pretty much ever, and most SJW bloggers that have actually detailed their personal lives tend to be shut-ins or people who stay in little hug circles in real life, with only few actually getting out into the world to deal with all the issues they portray themselves as battling one to one on the ground, and if they did, they'd realize getting someone to think about certain things differently is a shit load harder than they tend to describe it via teh internetz.
hopefully will convert
That pretty much covers it in a nutshell. Pretty plain this person doesn't even actually believe what they're saying, or has never actually tried to evangelize for something on the ground in real life. People who talk in that kind of manner with that kind of diction haven't ever actually tried to engage in a discussion where one of the participants simply doesn't have any reason to convert to your ism other than you don't like it, and they should think like you do. Anyone who actually goes outside into sunlight for any length of time can pretty plainly see that kind of shit is cartoonishly obtuse.
Has anyone done any fact checking on that supposed leaked Skype chat involving moot?
Has anyone done any fact checking on that supposed leaked Skype chat involving moot?
I doubt anything is going to come of that. Seems like a dead end.
The moot logs are one of the few things i do not believe are true. Until some other evidence comes to light I think most people have dismissed them as being fabricated.
Is there a video or archive of that one girl going off on that guy that was "just trolling" on the stream the other day?
The worst part is that this all sounds like stuff that could come from the likes of Silverstring Media. While that article may be well done I still feel uncomfortable supporting The Verge at all considering their other work.
Eat shit and die Rantic http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2014/09/rantic-marketing-4chan-emma-watson-leak-hoax.html http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/09/24/emma_watson_nude_photo_leak_scam_was_marketing_firm/ http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/24/6837585/emma-watson-nude-photo-threats-were-hoax-anti-4chan-campaign
Dear god i am trying to understand what is going on but this still is incredibly confusing after reading some pages. All thsoe tweets, comments, some videos, hastags, what a hell... I mean, i get how it initially started but what is going on right now? I would welcome a smart introduction to current situation.

Some journalists who suffered under the corruption(like getting fired after making a article that upset the wrong people) are coming out with proof of the corruption. SJW make themselves look crazy by comparing the current situation in gaming to slavery and the American Civil War, etc.

What is Dorito gate , I am out of the loop on that.
What is Dorito gate , I am out of the loop on that.
This mans ascension to the position of Dorito Pope. [img_thumb]http://abload.de/img/13688249377082dsjz.jpg[/img_thumb]
Any other questions?
That is Geoff Keighley. It was an interview he did for Halo 4. That is the actual setup. No one likes Geoff anymore.
What is Dorito gate , I am out of the loop on that.
geoff kheily had made a video answering questions about stuff that had massive adverts for mtn dew and doritos in the background. the backlash should be obvious it was used as the "current state" of video games type thing. one guy from eurogamer got fired over attacking it i think.
geoff did nothing wrong
https://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/473493433772802048 Geoff has a sense of humor at least
Geoff and doritos/dew are laughable compared to this. Geoff and Co super evil plan: promote snackfoods and videogames to you. Shitty journos super evil plan: force an agenda unrelated to gaming, attack, threaten and dox anyone that doesn't agree and kill off an entire subculture. both are bad, but are not neeeearly equal
https://twitter.com/RyanSmithWriter/status/514853520650928128
That was actually an incredibly insightful read and I think everyone should read it. It paints a picture not of a grand conspiracy, but one of a group of journalists who have fallen victim to creating their own walled garden, with nothing allowed to challenge them.
geoff did nothing wrong
Honestly, I'd rather have Dewrito's advertisement everywhere in my game than an absolutist Social "Justice" agenda. I can ignore garish green and orange and blue colors and chip-shaped medkits. I can't ignore my favorite dev being tied to the Judas Cradle because they showed an unscrupulous monster of a character raping an innocent woman.
geoff did nothing wrong
He can dew no wrong.

Obscure, are they fucking kidding me?
I'm more angry about the obscure part.

kotaku is just becoming a parody of itself. soon they'll be talking up some snipars videos saying how amazing the videos are.
This lack of outside critique means that when I criticize the work or the ideas of game journalists – which is what I did with regularity in the GameJournosPros discussion group made up of 150 or so professional games journalists, editors, freelancers – it was often taken as an off putting personal assault, especially since the group often toed the line between professional group and chummy “hey, we’re just hanging out!” friend group. The Price of Dissent In my year and a half in the group, I was often the only dissenting opinion in specific topics and most of the time I got totally ignored. Sometimes I was criticized or told I was off-topic. Sometimes I was warned I was “creating a hostile environment” to specific people for disagreeing with them in an unapologetic way, and a couple times I was told I’d be kicked out of the group. The informal pressure to “fall in line” with the groupthink was very strong. It only got worse after Breitbart recently published a leaked thread from the GameJournosPros group that discussed coverage of the Zoe Quinn affair. In the group, I questioned where these journalists drew the line in terms of covering salacious stories involving sources and asked if they’d actually examined evidence. My inquiries were treated incredulously or ignored. When a small amount of pro-Gamer Gate people online began following me on Twitter and praising me and I began engaging with them, here’s the response I got from journalists in the group: One said I was fueling harassment and threats, called me an “asshole,” some blocked me on Twitter, or tried contacting my colleagues or editors in attempt to shame me into silence or have my bosses silence me.
Incredible. Italics are my own emphasis.
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ByUlh6qIcAAqrKb.png:large[/t] "Skyrim: An underrated gem."
I only play indie under-rated games like Call of Duty and Left 4 Dead
[t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ByUlh6qIcAAqrKb.png:large[/t] "Skyrim: An underrated gem."
i don't think they even knew what game they were recommending when they wrote that
They probably just created a list of "feel good" things they can copy and paste into the curators recommendation section.
didnt they recommend a game coming out in 2015 or am i thinking of someone else?
