I wonder if people have bothered contacting the other CMs to see if they can be unblocked, or at the very least get in contact with one of the devs about this.
That's less of a community manager and more of a dictator. I really don't think she actually understands what being a community manager entails. This is the complete opposite of what to do.
As a community manager encountering someone whose personal opinions conflict with your own, should you either: A: Remain polite and objective toward customers, putting the good name of your peers and their product above your own personal feelings, or B: Go on nonsensical and offensive tirades against paying customers, to the point of actively insulting them and making your peers and their product look bad by association If you chose B like Dina, you're a horrible community manager, please don't take any jobs involving customer contact of any kind.
Good community managers make fun of abuse victims, don't you know? [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/421tcFO.png[/thumb] In related news, I've been talking to a couple SRS people from the offsite, and a lot of people are upset that I was banned. There might be something interesting to come out of this.
How do i get a chargeback on mighty no 9 i want my 20$ back i tried the amazon.com chargeback way when dina first became pr person but they (Specifially Comcept) told me to fuck off basically. let me try to dig through my emails to find the email where they basically said "no your not getting your money back" [editline]25th September 2014[/editline] i can't find it in my email, but some googling let me find it (edit: actually apparently it's a summary of the chargeback events): https://i.imgur.com/3q1Y7lx.jpg but yea im still unwillingly paying $20 for a game i dont really want.

Do it anyway. Enough and she gets fired. It may not get your money back, but you really don't want a douchenozzle being a gatekeeper as to what the devs should receive from the community in the way of actionable feedback.
-unsnip, nm it was the right email im stupid- i found the email. they basically said this as a response for me asking for a refund back in december.
Dear Mighty No. 9 Backer, We are performing diligence on your refund request regarding your donation which is not a quick process as it has come long after the close of the Kickstarter. I wanted to write to you with some initial information. We are continuing to look into this situation but in an effort to provide you with details as we get them, I am sending you out this email. Please understand that I am not entering into a debate or discussion on this matter but instead am making sure to get you important details as I have them. It appears that there is a significant misunderstanding and I respectfully ask that you please read the posting that I have copied below from the Mighty No. 9 forum as a response to concerns around the community manager. It appears that there is a mistaken notion which has unfortunately propagated that either a community manager undertakes development or design tasks, which is simply not the case, or that Comcept’s community manager was hired to be a designer on Mighty No. 9, which is also not the case. Nothing has changed in the game or in the design of the game or in regards to the development team. Mighty No.9 is moving full steam ahead today on the same path as it was prior to concerns being raised about the community manager. It appears that this misinformation has been perhaps unknowingly spread which has caused a small pool of backers to request refunds. However, we have also been getting unsolicited emails from some of these backer to now cancel their refund requests as the facts of the situation come clear and backers realize that nothing has changed around the game. Please let us know if you also would like to cancel your refund request. Otherwise, I will respond with more information as I have it. Your patience is appreciated.
and he linked a blog post from the mighty no 9 with these parts bolded
Will the community manager be skewing things the way they would personally like to see the game? Will the community manager ignore views that don’t match with their own personal ideals? Will the community manager lose the community’s desires due to unfamiliarity with the type of game we are making? Will the community manager be creating their own robots and levels and programming, or changing the game in any way, from what the core creative team wants?! A lot of these or similar questions have been raised. The good news is that the answer, in all cases, is no.

Of course, the proof will be in the doing -- we look forward to hearing what you all think as we start to roll out different aspects of our community involvement over the next few months, starting next week with the second round of the Call vote! (And maybe some smaller tidbits sprinkled here and there we have planned semi-regularly to get you glimpses behind the action, posted here to the forums from time to time). In the meantime, you can learn more about Dina and see her in action (or ask a question yourself!) in her Ask Me Anything thread in Off-Topic.
i can link the entire blog post from the email if you want, because apparently the mightyno9 site doesn't have it anymore.
Well he's not wrong that the community manager has no effect on the game. It's more: do you want this person representing your game?
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/421tcFO.png[/thumb]
Tweet 1: No room for that in gaming Tweet 2: I never said lw should be out of gaming I have a hard time understanding what you meant here as a result
Well he's not wrong that the community manager has no effect on the game. It's more: do you want this person representing your game?
wasn't there evidence that she actually worked on the game's robots though
wasn't there evidence that she actually worked on the game's robots though
I don't know. I don't keep up with Mighty No. 9.
wasn't there evidence that she actually worked on the game's robots though
She just drew some fanart of a female Beck that literally no one liked.
Welp, I gave 40 dollars for the soundtrack and game so don't feel too bad you can't get your 20 back.
Tweet 1: No room for that in gaming Tweet 2: I never said lw should be out of gaming I have a hard time understanding what you meant here as a result
There's no room for abuse in gaming, meaning there's no room for supporting abusers in gaming. Dina acted as if I was basically saying "kick Zoe out" which is not what I meant. I meant that abusers, as an abstract concept, have no room in gaming. Devs should be encouraging abusers to seek help and stop abusing people. That's what I mean by "no room for that." I want people to stop enabling and defending Zoe for her abusive behavior. I want Zoe to get help and become a healthy video game developer, not kick her out and watch her suffer on the street. Either way, defending abusers from "hatekeeping" is not a hill you want to die defending.
I'm making something atm on trigger warnings because all the tw's I see are at the end of post, and nobody looks there until you're done reading I found a good blog that is perfect material however I don't feel right using it or publicising it on the basis that the user is really suicidal and lives in Brisbane which is where I live near.
1 month anniversary of #gamergate is today right i honestly forgot when this started
Can't believe this has been going strong for a month

Even if we can't directly decide that, spreading the word is enough. No "charity", no patreon => bye LW, you, your scams and your 'games', exit's there, don't forget to take your friend Anita with you on your way out. Because even if we forget what started it, what she's done - there's plenty of reasons to want her out.

Maybe a clarification is needed to the other party? Also, if you're wondering about my personal stance - She does negative justice to her job description.
Dina's lack professionalism is nothing new. When people expressed that they were unhappy that she got her position just because she knew a guy at Comcept and had no prior knowledge about the project or the games that it was based on, she deleted several of her own tweets and messages that made her look unfit for the position. People who pointed this out on the forums in a civil manor had their threads locked. The more damage control went on, the more it became noticeable. I think all that was needed to defuse the situation was some form of communication from Dina. She actually opened a thread when she was announced as the CM titled "ASK ME ANYTHING" were posts asking her just to acknowledge the upset got deleted. There was this really funny moment I remember where there were tons of threads and messages asking for her to just to show up and comment on the situation with no response from her, and meanwhile she's posting in someone's off-topic thread about cats or some shit like nothing was going on.:v:
