That's nice, internet tough guy. .
Are you seriously resorting to the Internet tough guy meme? Dont make me write about my over 300 confirmed punches in the face knockouts and experience in gorilla warfare you douche. :v:
What websites should I be avoiding in getting my information from? I know Kotaku is high up on the shitlist, apparently Rock Paper Shotgun too but I haven't been too caught up in all this. And I would really like to know what sources to start avoiding at this point.

Yeah I realize that it kinda sounds like "avoid opposing viewpoint", but man, giving any of them views right now...
There's also GameSutra, who did that ludicrous "Throw off the name gamer" piece, and Reddit. Found Reddit's conduct during this whole thing to be exceptionally hypocritical though. I mean, they did try to defend /r/beatingwomen as free speech.
Polygon and escapists are some other ones, oh and rock paper shotgun aswell.
PCGamesN arguably just recently added itself to the list too: http://www.donotlink.com/bdnn The title doesn't seem so bad, but the article itself seems pretty biased.

Yeah I realize that it kinda sounds like "avoid opposing viewpoint", but man, giving any of them views right now...
I'm not worrying so much about avoiding opposing viewpoints, it's mostly the fact that so many "game journalists" and "game journalism" websites are so tightly intertwined in this whole thing that I just want to avoid anymore drivel that they have to offer, as well as not giving them any clicks. This whole situation is absolutely nuts and I'll be damned if I give any possible revenue to them.
Polygon and escapists are some other ones, oh and rock paper shotgun aswell.
Speaking of the Escapist. It doesn't seem like Jim Sterling will be making a video about the Quinspiracy. He does some pretty great work despite proudly identifying as a social justice warrior.
this video is informative edit: By the way, the IGF vid has not been 100% confirmed yet, do not act on anything that video talks about yet until fully verified.
Gaming websites you can and should support: http://gematsu.com/ www.geimaku.com http://www.siliconera.com/ http://indiejuice.tv/ www.incgamers.com http://www.gamerheadlines.com/ http://vidya.moe/ http://techraptor.net/ http://gamesnosh.com/ http://www.joystiq.com/ http://www.gamerevolution.com/ http://nichegamer.net/ http://operationrainfall.com http://www.bluesnews.com/ http://www.gatheryourparty.com/ A good way to fight bad journalism is by supporting good journalism.
I've felt that, even before this, there's been a very large gap between people that play games and games journalists. The Mass Effect 3 ending controversy was the first obvious example of it IMO, because journalists were pushing line that it was good and artistic and that the people that hated it were entitled crybabies that wanted a fairy-tale ending. As the controversy grew, they still stuck to their guns even though it was obvious something was genuinely wrong with the endings to someone that had never heard of a "Mass Effect" before. It eventually faded out, but the deep divide between gamers and game journalists was exposed for all to see.
Nah the ME3 ending controversy was more complicated than that. Bioware wanted people to only pay attention to the complaints over what the ending was/wasn't because what resulted from those complaints was pretty much Bioware's call. A lot of news sites (Including ones generally held in high regard, such as BBC) did initially focus on those complaints, but Bioware couldn't cover up the issue of them basically lying about how the series would end before ME3 was released and that eventually became too big to ignore. What's more, Bioware actually did have the right to end the series whatever way they wanted, but their response to the controversy came with the implication that they didn't believe they should have to face any consequences for their decisions. As a result, Bioware took one of the hardest anti-consumer stances in the history of the industry up to that point, quickly making anti-consumer policies one of the most discussed game-related issues of the years that followed. But a lot of sites quickly started promoting the idea of anti-consumer boogeymen threatening to destroy the industry. Journalists have become immensely protective of the interests of those they care about, but nobody else. And because a journalist and a consumer have different interests, the blame is often given to the wrong people.

Better put that list in OP
I've worked with games journalism for over half a year now, so seeing these accusations that all of us are corrupt, amoral assholes who just want money and respect is a severe lack of respect towards the ones who actually try to report about video games. Infact, me, or any of my co-workers have yet to write a single word about this whole scandal about this rampant corruption.

Just the ones who are caught and those defending their sorry asses.
