Okay, I got the other time-sensitive thing done (which was pulling down all videos from a Twitch channel before they're gone for good), next main focus will be the captioning. Little progress since I first announced it (only like a few seconds added), but that'll change over the next few days: If you're worried about inclusion of stutters, only ones that stall time for more than a second or two will be included for pacing purposes. Also my expected tribulations with whole-Chrome lockups will probably be avoided since I have a Notepad window open where I'll shove in any special characters that need shoving (probably just one though) and copy-paste at will.
Christina Sommers, the factual feminist who was criticized and falsely called a conservative in the gaming journalism industry for posting a video about sexism in the industry, has had her husband pass away thursday https://twitter.com/davidfrum/status/519308429098098688 give her some love: https://twitter.com/CHSommers Also Milo is sending her some flowers, if you want your name to be sent with them then submit yours here (it's gonna be a digital card. Oh wow, that's some shitty timing. Died at 91 though, so he lived life pretty much to the fullest. RIP.
I find it funny how the anti-GG side is so strongly against harassment, and yet they're fine to indirectly (and sometimes directly) insult people, then claim it's not harassment because __________. Eg saying that TotalBiscuit is worse than a semen stain, GamerGate are worse than ISIS... I dread to think how many times a Twitter hashtag has been considered literally worse than Hitler for some reason or another. Y'know, because when there's a gigantic opposing side which consists of representatives from almost every major gaming news site and several actual newspapers who all insist that it's 100% misogyny and everything we do is entirely tainted by that, we're the ones stifling voices and enforcing censorship in the name of a hateful doctrine.
http://www.cracked.com/article_18606_8-historic-symbols-that-mean-opposite-what-you-think.html remember when cracked was like this
Ask a cultural studies major with a minor in White Guilt about Che and you'll hear how he was an anti-imperialist hero. Ask them about Che's time in Congo and you'll probably get a blank stare.
Don't worry about the stutters. My end plan, though, is to take the fully transcribed version, edit it, and turn it into an essay with images added. Think of it as Zoepost 2.0. Without the narrative, just meaty analysis. Then post it on tumblr and wordpress, and watch it go! Also, my twitlong was rewritten for publication this week in a feminist online news site. We're using this illustration that a friend of mine did. There is a victory on the Wikipedia article for gamergate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamergate_controversy Neutrality warning box is on the article (Without that being up there, SJW could pass it off as being "Fair and Balanced") and a POV section has been added
Odd idea, but: do you think my TW work, GG work, & ZQ work might be enough to get my name to be mentioned in the Wiki article? It might help disrupt the echo chambers if I crop up as pro-GG in that article.
There is a victory on the Wikipedia article for gamergate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamergate_controversy Neutrality warning box is on the article (Without that being up there, SJW could pass it off as being "Fair and Balanced"), and a POV section has been added
And it's only editable by administrators/bureaucrats/WMF employees? Seems like a good way to tell everyone "SHUUUUUUUT UUUUUUUUUUUP" while stuff gets sorted out. Jesus christ, the ArbCom got involved too:
The Arbitration Committee has permitted Wikipedia administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor editing this page or associated pages. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behaviour, or any normal editorial process.
Shit really hit the fan there, didn't it? Reading the incidents section of the administrators' noticeboard is usually enough of a small popcorn fest, but if it goes to ArbCom (basically the people at the very, very top but just below the WMF level of power), you know that you pissed someone off royally.

If admins fight admins, bureaucrats can just blow them out of the water and strip their powers (provided they're told by ArbCom to do so). However, if bureaucrats start fighting bureaucrats, you know it's time to run to the hills. Why? [sp]Bureaucrats are promoted to that status by other bureaucrats, not WMF or ArbCom[/sp].

This ryulong guy is a piece of work.
Just go through every single fucking archive of this article and see the same thing get rehashed every other thread by a brand new voice bitching about the same exact things as every other voice that came before. This article is beseiged by single purpose accounts seeking to push a pro-Gamergate point of view on the page by removing everything that they consider is anti-gamergate because of some conspiracy they have in their minds that everyone in the media is out to get them and that only people who are as vindictive and pro-gamergate as they are are the unbiased voices in the crowd. That's why Milo Yiannopoulos is being touted as their savior right now because he acts just like they do and wrote something that put them in a positive light and put everyone they've been attacking in a negative light.—Ryūlóng (琉竜) 06:28, 5 October 2014 (UTC)
Not biased at all, nope.
It's interesting how they keep pinning the savior tag to Milo its also rather annoying. They seem to fail at the most idea of know thy enemy,I doubt half of the anti gg crowd knows anything about gg that wasn't spouted by some twitter mouthpiece. As evident by that Linux and github incident.
This ryulong guy is a piece of work. Not biased at all, nope.
Rylong has been the administrator removing all the pro-gamergate sources since the start, hes extremely non-neutral, completely against Wikipedia's policies and I am glad somebody is finally putting a stop to him, his points are hypocritical and uses shady tactics in order to have his way with the article.
So per the usual gater logic, you're going to reject anything that doesn't fit your personal qualifications of independency or neutrality.—Ryūlóng (琉竜)
Come on.
jesus christ did the ArbCom really get involved? hooly shit where's the popcorn
Good news! The published rewrite of my original twitlong is up. I also talk about the NeoGAF owner being a misogynist: http://theflounce.com/harassment-abuse-apologism-sanitizing-abuse-social-justice-spheres/
It's a great article Reimu, nice work.
Cue cliche Anime ending where everyone stands behind as Remiu walks away and a few of us cry and cheesy music plays. Or...every ending to a pokemon episode. [editline]7th October 2014[/editline] Or just everyone clapping and saying congratulations. PICK YOUR CHOICE OF CHOOSING REIMU.

To be fair, that's what we're on about. Max is just being a sick about it like usual.
leave him be in his little bubble, it's better for everyone

Agreed, we are against that too.But anti Gg just sees what it wants.Hell we don't condemn SJ as a whole they do good things its the arseholes that we have issue with.

Lmfao that's great. The angrier people get, the more my article will be spread. [editline]7th October 2014[/editline] I should talk about the TW stuff in my stream too. That would be fun!
