Also when is the live stream?
Probably this weekend. I'm thinking... Fri night? Sat night? I'll make a final decision within 48 hrs
Good news! The published rewrite of my original twitlong is up. I also talk about the NeoGAF owner being a misogynist: http://theflounce.com/harassment-abuse-apologism-sanitizing-abuse-social-justice-spheres/
I strongly disagree with your position on parts of what you wrote about and this article could have used a bit more editing to make it flow better between paragraphs, but otherwise it's very informative.
8chan /gg/ has a thread on this and instead of talking about the content they derailed into a trigger warning discussion because of your intro :v:

They have a point or two, maybe even three. Personally I agree more with them than with Reimu on this whole trigger warning stuff, with the exception of things that are difficult to leave (e.g. putting it on a lecture where that part is required reading or a film or play shown in theatre etc).
Just putting them on books in general is kind of ehh in mine, and if someone put them per chapter that would most likely defeat the purpose of the work.
I'm not opposed to making an online database for this stuff though, or anything that's not directly attached to the medium in question.
A good function would be to be able to select ones own content warnings beforehand and then only be shown those. (This can now be done fully client-side even across multiple sessions, so there's no need to handle personal data.)
I don't mind the more mainstream content warnings that were on games here years ago though, they probably are good for child protection.

Reimu, sorry, but imo, the cheating jokes aren't slut shaming. A girl sleeping with 5 guys when she's single is one thing (and making jokes about that would be slut shaming) but a girl sleeping with 5 other guys when she's supposed to be in a relationship (which inherently implies commitment and exclusivity to each other in terms of intimate stuff/fidelity), making jokes about that, isn't. It's joking at the expense of someones rampant infidelity. Yes, her infidelity has something to do with her manipulitiveness, or vice versa (more likely the latter). Calling someone out on their serial cheating isn't slut shaming though.
I call Zoe a cuckold because one of the best way to depower bullies and abusers is to make fun of them. What she did isn't cuckolding as we know it now, but it is what cuckold originally meant. Cuckold is such a funny-sounding word and has silly connotations that it makes it difficult to take her seriously. Part of her power she uses to abuse and control others comes from her legitimacy and position, but you can't give her the power she wants when the image that pops up in your head is her getting fucked bareback by a black man with gang tattoos while Alex Liefschitz is naked and chained to a wall while screaming racial slurs at the black guy through a ball-gag. Plus, it takes the piss out of Alex, which helps as well because he is a giant shithead.

I'm assuming on Hitbox?
Serious question based on the Zoepost videos: What's everyone's opinion on actually talking to Zoe? Do you think I should ask her if she privately (& completely confidentially) wants to talk to me about everything?
The more I think about it, the more I think I should. I saw her following/posting in a conversation I had with someone explaining the purpose of my videos; she posted an out of context tweet Eron made, then removed the tweet after I favorited someone's explanation about them.
Either way, I'm under the impression she's definitely watching out for conversations about the videos.
Get off of Zoe already she doesn't matter anymore at all.
targeting zoe really does serve as great ammo for the opposing side
targeting zoe really does serve as great ammo for the opposing side
Reimu's doing good research showing that Zoe is an abusive SOB to anyone that doesn't know the tell-tale signs of someone being an abuser. They're not doing inflamatory bullshit like saying "lol zoe slut cunt bitch" that just gives anti-GG people ammo.
we potentially have another corruption case on hand

I wish I had friends in gaming journalism so I could copy another game, get instant press and money for it.
Although it's not "corrupt" to do that, it's still pretty damn scummy.

Areal (The Stalker kickstarter game that was very clearly not what it was claiming to be) did similar shit this kickstarter did and got suspended for it.

Also this:
4. Did I mention making a game COSTS A LOT OF MONEY? A unity license is $1,500, and $1,500 more if I want to make something for IOS or Android. That's 10% right there.
Why.
The sane thing to do would be to use Ren'Py, which has support for basically any platform for free and is far easier to make this with.
At least it looks like it's going to fail, that Kickstarter is overall terribly made in the first place too.
This guy is angry that his 7 year old son is now convinced that he is a bad person because he plays video games due to anti-gamergate.

So I was watching an episode of PBS Game Show and I noticed that he made a passing quip about GamerGate being linked to harrasement so I spent a comment ripping apart the whole video.
Also, the quip about Gamergate not only just throws everything in our faces there but you're actions also shield abusive personalities by giving them a 'justified reason' to vent toward what you perceive as a negative group. I've been involved since the start of the movement and not only have you fed into this negative stereotype that only brings further animosity in this controversy but it is also highly unprofessional. It's obvious from that quip you have not done your research or gone across the isle. If you had you would've found out the creator of #notyourshield was doxxed with a fake Reddit profile linking him to pedophilia. You haven't been compared to ISIS in a way that's not only insulting but also trivializes the current mayhem and distress happening in the Middle East. You are sanitizing the abuse that people supporting #GamerGate have received because our movement doesn't fit a clean narrative for you to fill. I suggest you do some research before you bring up that movement again. Wikipedia doesn't count as its become a battleground like twitter over this as well, with Anti-GamerGate moderators completely ignoring rules, picking and choosing their own sources and insulting other moderators. You should start here maybe and rethink that quip.
http://theflounce.com/harassment-abuse-apologism-sanitizing-abuse-social-justice-spheres/
And no, by "Gamer", I mean the people willing to buy and pirate games to play them. Who spend a large sum of their money on the gaming industry, are highly involved in discussions about it without resorting to name calling and questioning the term 'gamer'. If you wanna throw it out or rebrand it, you're 20 years late and Jack Thompson is warning story.•
I cut off the first chunk because that tackled the stereotyping that he was trying to attempt to do against the term gamer.

The Areal Kickstarter did a lot of stuff that's plain illegal. This one is just made with zero effort.
Reported the kickstarter, if it leads nowhere. NO skin off my back.

gaymerx are taking funds that are supposed to go to their own convention and spending it on their friends' respective Kickstarter gaming efforts instead. there's a little more than just "it's a hatoful boyfriend ripoff" going on here
The kickstarter hasn't done anything illegal/against kickstarter terms of service, it's plain and simple. Yes, it's bad that they are getting money for copying a game, no, it is not against the rules to have a friend to promote you on a website. I'd like to see some proof of allegations above as well before jumping to conclusions.

There's no way for you to prove that though.
Not all money a company that takes donations handles will be from those donations, and for all we know they could have pledged 1$ to make it show up on their page.

That doesn't look right. With the timing and the idea, it's almost as if they were hoping to draw people's negative attention to it. I can't think of what they could gain from doing that though, hard to believe they would do it so blatantly out of stupidity.
I'm surprised that they got as much of the funds as they already do. I mean, $11,000! Game dev is just too easy for some people. And too hard for others.

A review I kind of liked:
Is this a book where a Canadian woman called Lou smears honey on her labia minora and has a black bear lick it off? Yes.
Is this a book where Lou kneads the bear’s testicles and tries to mount the bear’s penis? Yes.
Is this a book where Lou falls in love with a bear? Yes.
Did Marian Engel win the Governor’s General Award for this book? Yes
Is this book about gratuitous bestiality? No.
Is this book about general bestiality, then? No. (Although clearly, ........).
So, what IS this book about, then?
Lou is Theresa Dunn’s (Looking for Mr Goodbarr)’s doppelganger, except theres no faithful James waiting in the side wings.
Negotiating the treacherous waters of the 1970s emancipation experiment, Lou is a a middle aged, educated, intelligent woman whose life is dissipating in an ennui-nous para-state of extreme loneliness and unfullfilment, whose platitudes of evenness are rippled only by brief sexual encounters which leave her even more hallowed out than before. Why does she do it?
Because she is so alone. The need to touch another human being, really, (not necessarily a man), becomes so intense she succumbs to the Dark Side periodically. Even when she tries her hardest to ‘settle’ (you know, where square pegs needs must be forced into round holes to simulate ‘wholeness’), the men find her too educated, too professional, not domesticated enough.
So Lou ends up on a remote island (Cary) in Northern Ontario where she is meant to catalogue the library of an estate bequeathed to the Institute she works in. Helpless, (literally: this is some massive Canadian outback: its survival of the fittest out there), she soon finds herself exchanging favours for the local Man Friday’s help (in getting her supplies, etc). Which is even more heartbreaking considering she thought he was a decent human being to begin with.
Is it any wonder, that disillusioned with men, unable to understand how she fits in the complicated matrix of male-female relationship paradigm, morbidly despairing and disenchanted with her ‘daily bread’, she first falls in love with the remoteness, purity and innocence of Cary Island, and one brief step later: the bear.
This bear, then, is the only living creature in Lou’s life which gives unconditionally, loves unequivocally, has as its narrative innocence, kindness and truth, and hey: makes no domestic demands.
Clearly, Lou has to go back to Toronto eventually. (But not before she is practically flayed alive in an attempt to copulate). (not that thats important, I just had to squeeze it in though). And whilst there are no promises that her existenz will transform in any meaningful way, at the very least Lou goes back with replenished belief in the validity of life: because, for the first time ever, she has been touched by the redeeming nurture of Love.
Even if it was a bear, and not a Canadian Man who showed her the way.
It's getting a constant 4/5, so it's presumably a good book though. Definitely interested, but I don't know if I can muster up the courage to buy/borrow this.
Found this thing about the NSA and DIGRA. Seems a little bit far out there.

Literally a Hatoful Boyfriend knockoff. Does a VN like this even need a Kickstarter

the kickstarter was created aug 10th, a week before zoepost.
so unless they are psychic then this kickstarter was not created as a decoy.
$18,000 to make that piece of shit on an engine that it doesnt even take advantage of because of its fucking simplicity. You could make the same game in like some freeware flash.
Quick shitty low effort cash grab.
UAT is now 100% confirmed for no longer supporting Gamasutra via ads.
