People are basically manufacturing sexism and making it an issue where there is none, which people are actually taking seriously. Is there a female character wearing a skin tight suit? Doesn't matter how kick ass she actually is, it's sexist. Exposed mid-drift? Sexist. Playing off stereotypical female traits for a parody? Sexist. Shot of a female character from behind? Sexist. Female character perceived as not in a strong role? Sexist. It's the highest level of irony because this kind of thinking is sexist in of itself, that females [I]must[/I] fit a certain profile in media or it's just sexist. Xenomoose said this stuff used to be funny. It was, because the level of hypocrisy displayed by these people was on a level of parody of itself. It's not funny anymore. It's actively hurting an industry because people who write about this shit actively feed off of a social issue that has now been manufactured to their own whims. And for what? Do they feel good about this stuff by the end of the day? Are all these people getting paid or something? Are website hits really worth that much? Who is this going to benefit? I remember on the first TFYC stream, someone asked Matt why people care so much about what game journalists think about these sexist issues and he said "I have no idea why people give a shit about what these people say at all when it comes to feminism."
